The next day was New Year's eve and the whole group met up at the park in the morning and Luka brought all the pictures his mom took the day before. Anarka always printed out the pictures she takes of her kids to frame them but this time she printed all of the pictures so the group could see them and pick the ones they wanted to keep.

"Awesome!" Alya said as she was looking through the pictures.

"Just let me know which ones you want." Luka stated with a smile.

"Thank you Luka and Juleka's mom." Alya replied as she went through the pictures. "I want this picture." Alya grabs a picture of the three girls in a group picture.

"I love this one." Juleka said as she took a picture of the whole group.

"I don't like any of them." Nino said but that was a lie since he had a picture of him and Alya in his hand.

"Sure you do." Alya teased him.

"How about you, what do you want, Marinette?" Luka asked, looking at Marinette.

Marinette bits her lower lip as she looks at the pictures. "I guess… this one here." Marinette grabbed a picture of Adrien smiling brightly at the camera. She was kinda in it too since she was next to him when the picture was taken but only the back of her head was seen since she was talking to the girls at that moment.

Adrien raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure that you don't want something with more of you? That just shows your head."

"No, this picture is perfect." Marinette said with a smile.

"Cool than I'll take this one." Adrien said, grabbing a picture and showing it to her with a smile. It was Marinette with her cheer outfit for the cheer off and it was while she was cheering.

Marinette blushed hard. "No! Give it back." Marinette said embarrassed as she tried to take the picture from him but Adrien lifted it over his head and Marinette couldn't reach it. "Come on seriously, give it back."

"Give me yours first." Adrien said teasingly.

Juleka and Alya smirked at each other because of the situation before they remembered something. "Hey by the way how did it go?" Alya asked Adrien and Marinette and they both stopped with what they were doing to look at her confused. "You know the reward."

Marinette blushed more. "What do you mean?"

"You know what I mean, the kiss." Alya replied. "Did it happen?"

Adrien blushed too and he smiled. "Why? Who cares?"

Juleka and Alya gasped excitedly and Marinette quickly waved her hands in front of her. "On the cheek! It was on the cheek and he kissed me."

The girls blinked at her. "Are you kidding me it was supposed to be a real kiss!" Alya exclaimed. "That's so disappointing."

"Maybe tonight for New Year's." Juleka stated as Marinette and Adrien blushed.

"Anyway thanks guys for the message you gave me during the race but what did you mean 10 years from now?" Adrien asked them

"You'll understand one day." Alya stated with a smile.

Luka touched the picture Marinette had. "Look at Adrien's expression. He made the same face in a picture when he was little."

"When I was little?" Adrien asked, confused.

"Your aunt showed me yesterday your mom was with you." Luka replied. "Makes me think of what you can do for your mom from now on. Show her that you can still smile from the bottom of your heart just like how you did in this picture and that means that there's no reason to keep making yourself suffer." Adrien nodded and smiled at them.

`We can save Adrien everything we have done until now is leading to a bright future for all of us. I really believe that.'

As Nino was driving to the field just outside of Paris Luka was looking at a picture of Adrien when he was a boy smiling at the camera holding a black kitten with green eyes as his mom was next to him smiling too.

"Where did you get that picture?" Alya asked Luka as she leaned from behind Nino's seat to see it.

"Amelie gave it to me." Luka replied with a sad smile. "I wish that I could apologize to Adrien. I feel so guilty for stealing his future. For stealing Marinette."

"What, you stole Marinette?" Juleka asked, confused. "How so?"

"I didn't think you had the courage for that." Alya said playfully. Luka just glared at her. "Did Adrien know? Like did he ever find out how Marinette actually felt about him?"

"No idea I have always hoped that he did though." Luka replied.

Alya sighs. "I wish I realized how everyone felt sooner so I could help Adrien you know."

"Yea but you're forgetting someone else who was in love with Marinette too." Juleka stated. "I never even imagined I should be cheering on one over the other."

"If I had known back then that Adrien was going to die I would have been on his side no question." Nino stated.

"Gzz thanks for the support dude." Luka said sarcastically. "To be fair I was the only one that knew about it. How they both felt and yet I pretended to not notice pretty low… if Adrien were alive there might have been a future where he got to marry Marinette."

"I don't think that's true at all." Alya exclaimed slightly.

"Sure it is." Luka replied.

"No it isn't." Marinette finally spoke after staying silent the whole time from the back of the van as she let LJ play with her hand. "Even if he was alive I know that I would've married you. I remember back in high school when you told me how you truly felt about me. I have never been so happy."

"What he asked you out when did that happen?" Alya asked, surprised.

Luka smiled softly. "Who cares, it was a long time ago."

"I bet it was on New Year's eve. It was, wasn't it?" Nino asked with a smirk.

Marinette giggled and Luka glared at him. "Be quiet."

"So what's everyone doing for New Year's?" Alya asked everyone before looking at Adrien and Marinette. "I bet you two are going on a date right?"

Adrien nodded. "Yea in a little bit and tonight we decided to go to the Eiffel Tower to see the fireworks."

"Hey Nino and I thought about doing that too. We should do that part as a group." Alya stated. "If you two are okay with that."

Adrien smiled. "That's fine with me, what do you think princess?"

Marinette nodded. "Yea the more the better."

"I'm in." Nino stated.

"Sounds like fun to me." Juleka replied.

"Sorry guys, I have something else to do tonight." Luka stated.

"What you can't go? Are you sure that you're not lying?" Alya asked.

"I'm not lying, I seriously can't go. Sorry but have fun for me." Luka stated with a smile.

"Well see you guys tonight." Nino stated.

"C'mon Marinette let's go." Adrien said as he grabbed her hand and they started walking away.

Marinette looked behind her as she walked and waved at her friends. Everyone waved back and once they were far enough Juleka hitted Luka on the arm hard with her purse. "OW! What was that for Juleka!?"

"New Year's eve. You're lying about having plans tonight." Juleka stated with a straight face.

"Except it's not a lie." Luka replied.

"Except it is a lie." Juleka stated sternly. "My letter says you go to the Eiffel Tower with us tonight."

"So what? Sometimes the future changes." Luka replied.

"Or you're trying to change it now." Juleka stated.

"What are you trying to say with that?" Luka asked with a frown.

"Tell her the truth. Tell Marinette how you feel about her tonight." Juleka replied.

"What? Why?" Alya asked, confused.

Juleka takes out her letter and reads it. "'On New Year's eve Marinette and Adrien get into a huge fight over something. Adrien decides to go home after the argument Marinette starts crying so Luka comforts her.'"

"I won't do it." Luka replied sternly. "Not ever. There's no reason for me to tell her how I feel, especially now that she's dating Adrien. Plus that has nothing to do with saving Adrien."

"Maybe but it does have to do with your future with Marinette." Juleka stated. "Unless you don't want that? You know the future where you and Marinette get married?"

"Wait what? You guys get married!?" Alya exclaimed, surprised.

"My letter says your confession to Marinette New Year's eve probably led to it." Juleka added. "She may be in love with Adrien now but in a few years things are going to change."

"No, that has nothing to do with this world." Luka replied. "Remember what was talked about time travel that day in school about the parallel worlds theory? The world we live in and whatever future those letters come from can only exist separately. Even if I do change something, the world of our future selves will stay the same. The only reason we get married is because Adrien dies." Luka turns around so his back is facing the group. "That's not what I want for this world though. I won't do it, I'll never tell Marinette how I feel about her."

That night Luka looked through the pictures that came with his letter one was of Adrien and his mom when he was little. One was of Juleka's wedding with Nathaniel. One was of Nino and Alya's wedding. Lastly there were two of him and Marinette. One was of their wedding and the other one was of them with their son LJ. Luka smiled softly before putting the pictures down; he knew what he had to do.

Marinette's date with Adrien earlier didn't go as planned because in the middle of it Adrien got a call from his aunt Amelie telling him that she got really sick so Adrien left earlier to see how she was doing but he promised Marinette that he would meet up with her at the Eiffel Tower that night as planned.

December 31st. Adrien and I had a fight. I never got the chance to apologize to Adrien. I wanted to but he passed away before I could.

That night Marinette bumped into Juleka while she was headed to the Eiffel Tower so they decided to walk together. When they got there they saw Alya waving at them as Nino was standing next to her. "Marinette! Juleka!"

"Oh are we returning from a date?" Juleka asked playfully.

Nino nodded. "Yup."

"Adrien is going to be late." Marinette stated.

"And Luka?" Alya asked.

"He said that he couldn't make it, remember?" Nino stated.

"The last time I saw him he was in his room." Juleka replied. "Maybe we should call him later. Marinette, your letter did it mention anything about today?"

Marinette nodded. "Yea it looks like we got into a fight. It happened because I said something insensitive that hurted his feelings really badly."

Adrien muttered 'if something happens to my aunt I'll be alone' at that time I didn't understand what he meant by that. I said 'you won't be alone. For now let's forget about our troubles and have a great time.'

"Luckily we're here." Juleka replied. "If anything goes south we all got your back."

Marinette smiled. "Thanks but as long as I pay attention there shouldn't be a problem."

"Even if you do fight you can always apologize and make up with him." Alya replied with a smile. "After all every couple fights once in a while. They say fighting just means you're close. Right Nino?"

Nino nodded. "That's right, exactly like the two of us."

At that moment Adrien walked up to the group. "Hey I'm sorry for being late." Adrien looked at Marinette and what she was wearing and he smiled. "Look at you wearing a scarf. It's cute."

Marinette blushed. "Thanks you're cute - your scarf I mean."

Adrien chuckled as he took her hand. "So Luka really couldn't make it?"

"Well the last time I saw him he was in his room so who knows what he had to do." Juleka replied.

I want you to learn more about Adrien and watch what you say so you don't hurt him. Even if It doesn't go well, be sure to apologize right there.

Suddenly a strong cold wind hit them as Juleka and Alya shivered. "It's freezing, you should buy us something warm to drink Nino."

"Thanks, I'll take a hot chocolate." Juleka added.

Nino raised an eyebrow. "Why did you girls assume I would say yes and go?"

The group played rock paper and scissors to see who would have to get the drinks. Juleka Nino and Alya picked paper while Adrien and Marinette picked rock.

When the two of us were alone we talked about his aunt.

"I guess that means that you two should get the drinks." Alya stated.

They told them what they wanted and Adrien nodded. "Let's go princess." Adrien started walking, still holding Marinette's hand.

"Okay." Marinette replied as she walked by his side.

"Do you think they'll be alright?" Juleka asked.

"With Marinette the way she is now, yes." Alya replied.

"Good point in fact both of them seem changed for the better. Which is what we have been wanting." Juleka stated. "I'm more worried about Luka. Is he really planning to just stay home?"

Adrien and Marinette were walking to the nearest coffee shop. "Mari I wanted to say I'm sorry for leaving early during our date."

Marinette smiled at him. "Don't worry about it."

Adrien sighs. "I was really looking forward to it and I ruined it…"

"We can just look forward to future dates that we'll have." Marinette replied.

Adrien chuckled. "Of course as long as my aunt doesn't get sick again."

"... How's your aunt feeling now?" Marinette asked hesitantly.

"She has a bad cold but nothing severe… at least yet." Adrien replied. "If something happened to my aunt I would be completely alone…"

'The letter said future me met his aunt in the future so he doesn't need to be worried.'

"Well I wouldn't worry she'll be fine." Marinette stated.

Adrien suddenly stopped walking and let go of her hand looking down. "I thought that too… about my mom." Marinette frowned as he slowly looked up at her and smiled softly. "Sorry I didn't mean to sound so sad. I had just been in this before with my mother but I was wrong. I had no idea that she would die and every single day I still wish that I had showed up… Mari, would you mind if I went home early tonight? I'm worried about my aunt now. I want to go see how she's doing."

'And I'm worried about him now. I don't think he should be alone.'

"If possible, can you stay a little bit longer? I'm sure your aunt is fine, she's not going to go anywhere I promise." Marinette said softly.

Adrien's smile faded and he looked down as he slowly clenched his fists in anger. "How can you promise that?"

Marinette didn't know how to respond. "Because I… sorry."

"I just said that I felt like this before, were you even listening to me?" Adrien looked at her with anger in his eyes. "You have no way of knowing. You can't randomly decide that everything will be okay."

"No I -"

"I didn't know how much she was hurting. It was too much for her to the point that she died because of it. I abandoned her when she needed me. I basically killed her!" Adrien exclaimed angrily and Marinette took a step back in surprise. Seeing her expression, Adrien's eyes softened a little. "Sorry…I'm going home."

Adrien started walking away but Marinette reached out to him. "No wait-"

Adrien slapped her hand away. "Please just don't… I can't talk anymore… stay away, it'll be easier."

Adrien walked away as Marinette watched him as she started to tear up.

'I'm sorry…'

Luka's phone rang and he answered. "What are you doing I thought I said you better be here." Juleka's voice came on the other line.

"I'm busy." Luka replied.

"Doing what?" Juleka asked.

"Watching TV." Luka replied.

"What are you afraid of? That if you tell Marinette how you really feel all of a sudden you won't be able to save Adrien?" Juleka asked sarcastically. "Don't worry about it. I swear together we'll save Adrien. I'm not telling you to steal her from Adrien. That's just low since they're dating but at least be honest with her tonight."

Nino took the phone from Juleka. "Dude listen it's kinda late to say this now but I don't think changing the future is the best thing for us to do. When we alter the future it affects not only Adrien but other people that have nothing to do with us. Take the race for example Adrien won first place in the relay so the guy who was supposed to take first came in second. The blue team was supposed to win but because of us it was the red team. Everytime we revise our future we're changing someone else's future too. Doesn't feel right."

Alya took the phone from Nino. "Let me talk to him…I said that I was cheering for Adrien and Marinette but that doesn't mean I'm not cheering for you too. I know that you can protect Marinette the way no one else can."

Luka smiled. "That's very sweet, thank you."

Alya suddenly heard cars from Luka's end of the line. "Where are you?"

"Later." Luka said before hanging up and smiled. "And here I was thinking that no one was on my side." He looked in front of him to see Marinette a few feet away from him crying as it started snowing. He walked over to her. "Hey are you going to be okay?"

Marinette looked at him in tears. "I couldn't change anything. I still hurted Adrien. I'm sorry."

"It's okay, don't worry about it." Luka said softly.

"I think Adrien hates me now." Marinette said as she buried her head on Luka's chest.

Luka hugged her. "I doubt that and even if he does everything is going to be okay. If worse comes to worse I'll just drag him to you like I did last time. I'm always here to help you two and I'll do whatever I can so you two are happy together. Don't be scared, just keep moving forward. Treasure the time you have with him. It's important." Marinette broke the hug and nodded as she wiped her tears away. "Now go get him and bring him back better hurry too. It's almost the new year."

Marinette smiled at him. "Right, thank you Luka." She ran to the direction Adrien went.

Luka smiled at her before sighing. "Juleka is going to be so mad at me."

"Maybe so but don't worry, I'll take care of it." Roarr said as she walked over to him with Tikki and Sazz.

"You did a great job doing what the letter told you to do." Sazz replied.

"The letter told me to stay home but I knew that I couldn't stay home and do nothing if two of my best friends needed me right now." Luka replied.

"You put the happiness of others before your own happiness. That's a quality not many have, you should be proud of yourself especially with the opportunity you just gave away right now." Tikki stated.

Luka smiled. "I am, I just want them to be happy and I'll still be by Marinette's side no matter what. Though it is a shame that LJ won't be born in this world, he did look cute."

Marinette was running fast to catch up with Adrien.

'Please don't let this fight be the same that triggered Adrien to shut me out for good.'

Adrien's phone rang and he took it out to see the smiling face of Marinette.

'Is it my fault that Adrien died?'

As Adrien's phone kept ringing he lifted his arm in the air and threw his phone on the ground as it fell and cracked once it fell on the ground and Adrien kept walking.

At that moment the clock hit midnight and the fireworks started as Marinette kept running and calling Adrien on the phone.

'Please answer… Adrien!'
