chapter 3 Flash out of action

Flash was doing some saving the day with Green Lantern and Hawkgirl. "I got this," Flash said and rushed and saved someone. But he didn't see something coming and got slammed into.

"Flash!" Hawkgirl shouted and freed him. "He's hurt," she said.

Then Flash saw the league looking at him and saw his leg in a cast and himself all bandaged up. "Aw man," Flash said. "I didn't even see what hit me," he said.

"I did not see it until it was too late," Green Lantern said.

"Same here," Hawkgirl said.

"You are going be to fine Flash, normally a break like this for any human would take about six weeks to heal but I see you heal fast thanks to your super speed, you should be healed in about 3 1/2 weeks," J'onn said.

"That's good but I don't know how all of you will manage with me being laid up and what about Central city?" Flash said.

"Don't worry we got it covered, Hawkgirl and Green Lantern will keep an eye on Central city until you are healed." J'onn said.

"That's good," Flash said.

"We will all pull in a little more weight on the active duty while you can help with the monitoring." Superman told him.

"Okay, I am looking forward to running again," Flash said.

Flash was wondering what hit him it was super fast, and he wondered what it was.

Meanwhile in Central city Captain Boomerang was robbing a bank. Hawkgirl and Green Lantern went to stop him. "What's this Hawkgirl and Green Lantern where is the Flash did he quit?" Boomerang asked.

"No he's got a broken leg and he asked us to keep an eye on things until he is healed," Hawkgirl said.

"The Flash has a broken leg, oh this too funny and he asked you two who never faced me before to fight me, it's funny," Boomerang said laughing.

Then Green Lantern hit him with his power ring. Boomerang picked himself up. "Don't think it is so funny now do you?" Green lantern asked.

"No I don't see if you take this," Boomerang said and threw some boomerangs. Flash noticed the ones he was using over the monitor.

"Careful those boomerangs he is using explode." Flash said.

Green Lantern created a shield and Hawkgirl went after Boomerang. She knocked him done and held him up. The police took him to jail. "That takes care of that," Hawkgirl said.

They made it back to the watch tower. "Okay that takes care of Captain Boomerang," Green Lantern said.

The rest of the league was there Flash was in a wheelchair.

"Oh guys I forgot to mention a few things," Flash said.

"Oh what?" Hawkgirl asked.

"I was going to appear a big charity event to get toys to the kids foster home in Central city, I do it every year and do things with the kids after the toys are delivered but with my broken leg I can't go. I would really appreciate it if you two or other members of the league go and help with it," Flash said. "It's for a good cause," he said.

"Anything else?" Superman asked.

"There is the adoption fair for the animal shelter, meet the kids at the children's hospital, getting food and clothes donations and taking them to the food and clothes pantry to help the needy, helping clean the park, and do Mr. Darlot's yard because he has a lot of problem with his arthritis and he also recently had major heart surgery and needs rest."

"Wow that is a lot of stuff Flash," Wonder woman said.

"Well when does it all need to be done?" Green Lantern asked.

"The food and clothes for the pantry is tomorrow, then the day after that is when I take the donated toys to the foster home, Cleaning the park is Wednesday, Friday is Mr. Darlot's yard. Next week on Monday is the adoption fair and Friday of that week is visiting the children's hospital." Flash said.

"We need to do all of that and keep a watch for crime?" Hawkgirl asked.

"Yes," Flash said. "I know it's a lot but I would really like it if you help with that along with the crime fighting because this is also important too me," he said.

"Don't worry we will help," Superman said.

Flash stayed on monitor duty while others helped fight crime in Central city and do Flash's other things to help the city as a superhero.

They had just gathered the clothes and food. They were taking it to the shelter. "Thank you for bringing this here, normally Flash is the one who does this," the lady said.

"He broke his leg so he asked us to help out," Superman said.

"Oh the poor dear, I hope he is up and running soon," she said.

"He hopes so too, he said he is looking forward to getting out of the wheelchair we have him in and wanting to be off monitor duty," Green Lantern said.

"Well we very much pleased that you are helping him and us, thanks again," the lady said.

They also dealt with Dr. Alchemy and had to put him behind bars and deal with their own villains to back home.

The next day they got the toys and took them to the foster home. The kids were excited to meet other heroes but were wondering where Flash was. They explained Flash was hurt and asked them to help. They had many questions for the other heroes and got to talk to them and spend time with them.

They still had other work to do. On Wednesday they had to clean the whole park and there was a really big mess and they finished up. On Friday they clean Mr. Darlot's yard. "Thank you so much, I hope Flash heals up soon," Mr. Darlot said.

They still had lots of crime fighting to do.

On Monday they had to help out at the adoption fair. There were lots of animals there and many animals were adopted.

Up until Friday the team was fighting many crimes in Central city and their home towns. On Friday it was time to visit the children's hospital to cheer up the children. The children were in awe of seeing many different heroes and all of them spending time with them. They were so happy to see all these heroes and were hoping Flash would be better soon.

Flash received many well wishes from the people of Central city and was hoping to be back in action soon.

Soon the three and half weeks were up and now Flash was walking around again. He was even running on the treadmill he uses to train. The others were amazed with doing so much good charity work, along with keeping the city safe, doing a job as forensic scientist as his secret identity and having social life as a hero and his secret identity it was a lot. They were surprised he wasn't burn out by doing so much for others and such to help them. He had a much bigger heart and drive than anybody realized.

They felt just burned out for doing hero work, daily life, and the charity work Flash did and he never seemed burned out. He was great hero and a kind person through and through.

"Hey Flash." Hawkgirl said.

"Yes guys?" Flash said stopping the treadmill and getting off of it.

"We never realized how much you do, having a job, hero work, and charity work along with having your everyday social life, how do you do it all, by finding time for everything without burning out?" Green Lantern asked.

"I learned to juggle everything and keep myself organize and remember not to do things only for myself to do what I was taught by mother, uncle and aunt to always put others first and never myself. Knowing that I can do something to help others no matter what it maybe, whether it is saving lives or just seeing them in the hospital, it is what keeps me going," Flash said. "I learned to manage all of that and I am grateful to have friends like you to help me with that, I am sorry if you feel a bit burned out," he said.

"It's okay but we are grateful to have been a big help to you," Superman said.

"It's great to have you back to running shape Flash because now you can continue being the big help that you are," Hawkgirl told him.

"I am glad and ready to go," Flash said.

To be continued.
