chapter 5 The Cat Joins the League
Catwoman was a former villain Batman faced but now she has turned good and has been helping defend Gotham with him and his friend Batgirl and Robin. They care about each other very much.
Today they were in Gotham when a blizzard hit that day in January. "Oh great." Flash said.
"My house is pretty far," Batman said.
"You all can stay at my place it's close by," Catwoman said. They made it to her large apartment. "This is where I live so make yourselves comfortable." she said.
They all relaxed on her sofa and chairs. Then a black cat came up. "Oh what a cute cat," Flash said and tried to pet it.
The cat hissed at him and ran to Selina and jumped in her arms. "Sorry Isis isn't fond of strangers," Selina said. "But once she gets to know she's fine," she said. Isis then jumped into Batman's arms and began to rub her head against his face and purred.
"Looks like Isis likes Batman just fine," Green Lantern said.
"Because her cat already knows me," Batman said.
Everyone was relaxing and Isis came over to Flash and started to sniff him. Then she went into his lap. "Hey look," Flash said.
"She came to you when she was good and ready that is the way it is with cats," Selina said.
"Hmm this blizzard doesn't seem natural almost," J'onn said.
"What do you mean J'onn?" Wonder woman asked.
"It seems a bit unusual, it seems it is affecting only one part of the town and not the rest I am getting telepathic impulses from those near here and those in different parts of the city it seems the snow is only affecting this area," J'onn said.
"I think of one person behind this, Mr. Freeze," Batman said. "He must be doing something to cause this," he said.
"Then let's go," Flash said.
They headed out and started to search. It was worrisome. A dog was sniffing around a stray and he was thin as thin could be and he was all black and sniff Batman and started to follow the league.
There is a plant they found Freeze working on a blizzard machine. "This is got to work and I know I can do this to create the freeze to get what I need in this part of the city." Freeze said.
"Not so fast Freeze," Batman said.
"Batman," Freeze said he started to fight Batman along with his henchman fought the league.
The dog attacked a man about to attack Batman from behind and started to wrestle him. Batman noticed this and knocked Freeze back when the dog got hurt. Then Flash shut down the machine and Freeze and his henchmen were arrested.
Batman checked on the dog. The dog was hurt. "He's hurt, he save me," Batman said. "We got do something," he said.
"The vet where I take Isis is nearby we can take him there," Catwoman said. They took the dog to the vet out of costume. The vet checked the dog.
"He is going to be alright his injuries are not serious the only problem is he is emaciated he needs to be fed and give fluids." the vet said.
"We found him on the street," Bruce said.
"Don't worry we will take care of him and give him shots and then take him to the shelter, but I worry he won't be adopted and have to be put down to make room." the vet said.
"That's terrible, he saved me from a thug, I don't want him to lose his life like that," Bruce said. "I tell you what I will adopt him," he said.
"Okay then Mr. Wayne fill out the papers and we will release him to you once he is recovered from his injury and gained a bit of weight." the vet said. "He needs a name," he said.
"I was thinking Ace," Bruce said.
"Okay then we will take care of Ace and let you know when he is ready to take him home for the first time Mr. Wayne," the vet said.
"Thank you," Bruce said.
They left the office. "Bruce that was great thing you did," Selina said. "Isis was a stray when I found her as a kitten and I adopted her and we had been together ever since," she said. "I hope Isis will get along well with Ace considering you proposed last week, and they will be house mates," she said.
"How come you didn't tell us?" Flash asked.
"I prefer to keep things quiet but it's alright," Batman said.
Once back at the apartment. Superman came up. "Catwoman we would like you to join the justice league because you were a big help today we would like it very much if you would join and help us," Superman said.
"I think that is a great idea," Catwoman said.
"Welcome to the Justice league Catwoman," Superman said.
They all shook hands with Catwoman and welcomed her in.
A few days later Ace came out of the vet clinic and got to meet Isis the two animals hit it off and started cuddling and sleeping together. Bruce and Selina could tell their pets were going to get along just fine.
There were more heroes out there and they were going to get invites for the league. Because the Justice league was meant to grow and was meant reach out around world to many heroes and people and help anyone in need.
