Two short statured wizards arrived in a desert town, surveying their surroundings, noting a massive block of solid ice that towered over the local surroundings.
"There it is" Zeldris remarked. The other wizard nodded as they both walked towards the crowd of people that stood a few meters from the slowly melting block of ice.
The two approached a short, long haired, bearded man, with Zeldris asking "excuse me sir, are you the village chief who put in the job request?".
"Indeed, I am, young man, about a year ago, the stream that used to flow through this town and provide water for myself and the villagers dried up. We then contracted some wizards to find us a new source of water. They provided this massive block of ice that has been melting and providing us water since. We want the both of you to melt it completely" the man finished.
"This should hopefully take us only a couple hours" the young man who stood beside Zeldris responded with confidence, this young man was Romeo Conbolt, a 15-year-old fire wizard who looked up to Natsu Dragneel, he wore faded green pants, faded orange shoes, with a dark red sleeveless, open jacket with an orange scarf.
"I'm glad to hear it," the village chief replied. We will watch you two with great interest.
Romeo and Zeldris then made their way to the massive block of ice, it seemed to be as tall as the highest buildings in the kingdoms, and wide as a city block.
Zeldris looked over to Romeo and remarked to him "a couple of hours, huh?" he then remarked "if we set a fire at the bottom, we can melt the ice".
Romeo then responded, looking confused, "then where will the water go? It will then just wipe out the fire we built".
Zeldris's face fell, realizing the predicament he was faced with.
"That's where I come in" remarked a rather young woman with very notable features, dark brown hair and olive colored skin in a green dress, as she walked to the pair surveying them in her mind.
"I've been asked to help as well; my task is related to collecting the water that is melted off that block of ice" she remarked.
Zeldris nodded "perhaps you could help us, we need an elevated plane to start a fire, and then I will climb to the top, to start chopping and working on the ice from the top."
"And I can use my flame spells to maintain a nice roaring fire" added Romeo.
"Before we start, might I ask for your name, and what guild you're from?" Zeldris asked.
"My name is Terra Mere, and I have no guild, I'm an independent wizard" she remarked "and what are your names and guild?" she then asked.
"My name is Zeldris Akuna, and this" as he pointed to the other boy "is Romeo Conbolt, and we're both from the Fairy Tail guild" Zeldris responded.
"That's very nice, I may have to go and check out your guild" she remarked.
"I have certainly enjoyed guild life, but for now, let's get to work" remarked Zeldris "we need to gather some fuel for the fire, and we will meet here in 30 minutes. The others nodded in agreement and set out to find fuel for the fire.
30 minutes later and the three wizards had gathered some fuel for a fire. These included things like building material scraps, leftover wood from fires, and various trash.
"Now, Terra Mere, can you make us something, so we have some elevation to work with to start the fire and allow you to collect the water?" Zeldris asked.
"I have the perfect spell for this occasion" as Terra Mere reached to the ground and shouted, "earth make funnel!"
Zeldris and Romeo gasped as they rose up, a total of 50 meters high, the desert sand surrounded the slow melting block of ice, once the two stopped moving, Zeldris turned to Romeo and said "go ahead and get the fire started, I am going to climb to the top" beginning to chuckle as he unsheathed his swords "these swords have more than one use".
Romeo stood flabbergasted as he watched the red suited wizard climb up, Romeo worked quickly to start the fire, maintaining it once Zeldris got to the top, who thought to himself, "what a view up here" .
Zeldris put his green dragon hilt back in his backpack, and began chopping away at the ice, small chunks falling into the small puddle that had formed at the base of the ice block thanks to the fire, heat of the day, and Zeldris's chunks.
An hour had passed, and progress was noticeable but somewhat slow, by now Zeldris had noticed something was in the ice itself, a large rounded beast appeared to be in the ice, the trio kept working to melt the ice, becoming wary of the beast, the water had now increased to resemble a large pond. The village chief and villagers were now out in chairs getting a suntan as they watched the wizards working on the ice.
Two more hours had passed, and now the opaque and green beast could be seen sticking out of the ice. As the wizards kept working, the water was now a surprising amount, close to a large lake at this point.
Zeldris who was now at the level where Romeo and Terra Mere were at, looked uneasy as he gazed at the beast. The funnel shaped area that they were standing on, was now only a couple meters above the height of the water.
"Is there any chance we can get the rest of this melted with the water like this?" Zeldris asked.
Terra Mere and Romeo looked at each other and shrugged, then Romeo said "unless you can elevate the ice and that monster to a higher ground we may just have to wait until it melts on its own".
"Considering the desert area of this town, and the sun, it should melt fairly soon" Zeldris said, trailing off as he spoke as he watched the silent, still monster with increasing worry.
"So, Zeldris, you've been staring at this beast with increasing worry, do you know something about this beast?" Romeo asked.
Zeldris nodded, "if I remember correctly, this is a great beast Albion, I heard stories about them as a child, and I thought they didn't exist"- Zeldris cut himself off, his blood seemed to run cold as he could feel something.
"Romeo! Terra Mere!" he shouted, "can you feel it?"
"There's magic reactions from inside that beast, and I can feel it's rising magical power!" remarked Romeo.
"We should get back" remarked Terra Mere reaching down to the earthen structure she created "earth make path!" and the desert sand shifted to create a pathway away from the one structure back to the area where the villagers were sitting, now looking quite concerned.
The beast let out a loud roar, the trio of wizards covered their ears along with the rest of the villagers.
"It's so loud!" shouted Terra Mere in shock as small animals scurried away out of the town, with the villagers running for their lives.
"We must defeat the beast to save the town!" shouted Zeldris as he unsheathed his sword Lostvayne, while Romeo and Terra Mere nodded rather hesitantly.
The beast then turned towards the wizards, letting out another loud roar.
"An Albion's weakness is its core inside its chest, we need to go up and smash it" Zeldris continued, running towards the beast "Terra Mere, help me up!" he demanded.
"Earth make stairs!" as she reached down, the desert sand shifting into stairs that lead to the beast.
Romeo couldn't help but be frozen in place, until Terra Mere spoke, attempting to bring him to his senses "what are you waiting for? We need to go and help him"
Romeo nodded, and soon ran up the stairs, Terra Mere followed closely behind.
The beast then seemed to shift back, taking in a deep breath, as the beast leaned forward, flames then shot from the beast's mouth toward the town.
Romeo and Terra Mere froze in horror as they watched what happened next. The flames came towards Zeldris who jumped up, and in a flash of light, swung his sword and shouted, "full counter!"
The flame attacked turned into a fire ball that was shot back into the air and dissipated. The two wizards stood still in shock at what had just happened, seeming to forget the situation they were in. Until the beast moved and grabbed them with its left hand.
The two wizards struggled and struggled, as they were now face to face and being squished together. Romeo could not help but blush as he struggled against her, including something that poked Terra Mere. She could not help but blush and smirk, replying "I knew I was pretty, but I didn't know I had that much an effect on cute boys". Romeo blushed as red as Zeldris's clothes, seeming to catch her joke.
Meanwhile as they struggled to contain themselves, Zeldris chopped the arm of the beast off and they fell back to the ground as Zeldris rolled his eyes as the other composed themselves.
"Focus you two!" barked Zeldris, and the two wizards nodded as they faced him, "now, I need you two to send the strongest attacks possible towards me, and I will counter them to attack the beast, with luck the beast will attack, adding a third spell to be countered." Zeldris finished, looking ready for them to do as he said.
"Now I want you to put everything into this one shot of magic!" Zeldris demanded.
"Alright then, I'll go first" responded Terra Mere "earth make lance!" and multiple lances made from the desert sand and came towards Zeldris.
"My turn" remarked Romeo "rainbow fire!" and a massive fireball of multiple colors flash towards Zeldris, at a similar rate and speed, the spells started to spiral and mix into one spell. Meanwhile, the Albion had recharged its magic and was now unleashing a fire attack at Zeldris as well.
The three spells came towards Zeldris as he was ready with Lostvayne in hand, swinging the sword as the spells came at him "full counter!" he shouted, the spells in a brilliant flash of light came back towards the Albion, destroying the beast.
All that was left was of the beast, were the two legs and the bottom where they connected.
The townspeople, along with Romeo and Terra Mere stared at the remains of the beast.
"Hmmm, I guess I managed to blast away the core too" Zeldris remarked, quite pleased with himself.
Terra Mere was the first to speak "that was incredible Zeldris", Romeo nodded in agreement, still in shock.
"Well thank you, you two weren't bad yourselves" Zeldris said, as he resheathed his sword.
Finally, the village chief who was still in absolute awe of what he just witnessed addressed the wizards, "we want to thank you for the work that you've done, providing us with plentiful drinking water for many years to come" he paused, looking back up at the beast, "we also want to thank you three for defeating this beast and because of your heroism we will be giving you each 100,000 jewel on top of your payment for the job" handing each wizard a handsome stack of cash, "we cannot thank the three of you enough for your work, take care and be safe on your journeys" he said, as he and the other villagers walked back to their homes.
Zeldris, Romeo, and Terra Mere all walked towards the northeast, Zeldris and Romeo heading towards the guild, while Terra Mere tagged along.
"So, Terra Mere, are you joining us on our journey back to the guild?" asked Zeldris.
She nodded and then said "indeed, that was an incredible display, and I'm seriously considering joining, it is about time I join a guild, especially if there are cuties like Romeo and you in it".
Zeldris chuckled and brushed it off, while Romeo blushed bright red, staying expectedly quiet, as Terra Mere took his hand into hers as they walked, eager to join the two of them on their next adventures.
