"First up, will be Fairy Tail team A's fire dragon slayer Natsu Dragneel versus Saber Tooth's shadow dragon slayer Rogue! For Fairy Tail team B, the she-devil, Mirajane takes on Crime Sorciere's speed demon, Sawyer. In our third match, Blue Pegasus's Ren Akatski takes on Quattro Cerberus's Semmes! For our fourth match, Lamia Scale's god slayer Chelia Blendy takes on Beth Vanderwood of Mermaid Heel. Our final match of the day will be the Alvarez Guild's Ree Zay versus Twilight Ogre's Thibault '' Chopati Lola announced.
"All very good fights and worth the watch," Mr. Yajima said.
By now, Natsu and Rogue had appeared on the stadium grounds. Admittedly, they were grinning eagerly, this had been the first time in three years that they had sparred against each other.
Mato walked up to them and reminded them, "remember, you have thirty minutes to win" he said before adding, "and there is to be no destroying the stadium! Let the battle begin" as the gong sounded, Mato then retreated to the sidelines.
"Alright" Natsu said, loosening his shoulders, "How long has it been since we last fought? Three years?" he said to Rogue.
"Indeed, and this time I shall win" Rogue said, in the competitive spirit of things. Both leaned back in taking a massive deep breath, before both attacked.
"Fire dragon roar!" Natsu said as a massive column of fire shot from Natsu's mouth.
At the exact same time, Rogue shouted, "shadow dragon roar" and a column of black shadows from his mouth.
The columns of magic collided and drew to a stalemate.
Natsu smirked as soon as the columns dissipated, "not bad, you've improved since we fought Acnologia" he said.
"As SaberTooth's best wizard I must get stronger" Rogue said, then charged at him, preparing to attack. "Shadow dragon's waxwing flash!" Rogue shouted as he turned into shadows themselves and encompassed Natsu.
"Incredible!" Chopati Lola said, "just like in 791 when he was possessed by a spirit, he wrapped his opponent in shadows and is unleashing a deluge of attacks".
Not even a split second after that play-by-play call, Natsu simply pulled Rogue from his shadow and threw him towards the wall.
"Saber Tooth's best? I thought Sting or Minerva was your best" Natsu retorted as he looked at Rogue.
"What an incredible display of power! Natsu looks to be unscathed after that deluge of attacks by Rogue" Chopati Lola said. By now Zeldris was looking at the fight with interest.
"Not bad" Rogue said as he recovered, "but I think it's about time I got serious".
"Not bad yourself, I needed a warmup," Natsu retorted.
"Shadow drive" Rogue said, and shadow radiated from his feet consuming him like a flame.
"I think I better take myself up a notch," Natsu said in response.
"I'd be upset if you didn't" Rogue retorted.
"Lightning flame dragon mode" Natsu said as flames now encompassed him with little streaks of lightning emerging from his feet.
"This battle just got serious! Chopati Lola said.
"The magic power emanating from those two is incredible, even more than when the four dragons faced off against each other in 791!" Mr. Yajima said in amazement.
Soon both wizards charged at each other with incredible speed, Rogue turned into shadows and rushed towards Natsu. At the same time Natsu charged at Rogue by turning himself into a streak of lightning.
They clashed with great ferocity once, twice, three times with intense speed. The crowd oohed and awed with the intensity of the fight, Zeldris included.
Each wizard continued to trade blow after blow, it was a lightning flame dragon roar, followed by lightning flame dragon iron fist, and lightning fire dragon's brilliant flame. Rogue retaliated the best he could but from those attacks and from several more but by the end of it he was a bruised mess.
"I don't think Rogue can take any more hits!" Chopati Lola said, quite stunned. As soon as he said that Rogue fell to the ground, muttering, "I surrender".
The crowd cheered regarding that fight, as Chopati Lola said, "once again, Fairy Tail team A sweeps the day with a full 20 points! Bringing their total to 40!"
Natsu helped Rogue up and carried him off the field, to the even louder cheers from the crowd.
By now Mirajane and Sawyer had taken the field, Mira was in her traditional burgundy dress than she wore when Zeldris first came to the guild. Sawyer, meanwhile, was in his typical black tracksuit that only left his head exposed.
"Let the battle begin" Mato said as the gong sounded. In the immediate second after the gong sounded, both sprang into action. They then appeared as two blurs and Zeldris seemed to simply lose track of them.
"Those two are moving too fast for me to see them!" Chopati Lola said before turning to Mr. Yajima, "how can I do commentary on something I can see?" he said, rather panicked, as Mr. Yajima just shrugged.
Since Zeldris had lost sight of the two that just appeared like blurs, he turned to look towards the Fairy Tail guild suite. He felt a bad omen about the blonde woman that was their first master, Mavis.
Mavis could feel the stare of Zeldris and turned her head away from the fight to look at him. She did not look at him with the kind and friendly gaze she gave the others. She gave him a stare that cut through Zeldris like daggers.
Zeldris could not help but be frightened by her. His hearts raced from anxiety, not the same way his hearts seemed to race when he saw Meredy, or some of the other ladies of the guild. This fear was palpable within Zeldris, he seemed to go pale.
The Alvarez guild members had looked towards the Fairy Tail suite and noticed the way Mavis stared at Zeldris and noted it as so.
"It seems Emperor Spriggan is upset about that boy in the red," Ree Zay said.
"That's Zeldris from Fairy Tail, apparently the emperor has some sort of grudge against him" Alayna said.
"Any enemy of Emperor Spriggan is my own" Crystal said, and the group nodded in unison.
Meanwhile, Sawyer was left a bruised pulp from the fight and the rest of the crowd cheered to her victory.
Chopati Lola announced "what an incredible victory by Mirajane! Fairy Tail team B racks up another ten points to bring their total to 38!"
Mavis had joined the guild in their celebration and Zeldris joined the celebration with his team. Zeldris was still uneasy, but he knew for some reason he needed to keep up this façade of his calm and cheerful expression.
Zeldris's attempted façade was rather easy to see through, Gabriel, Romeo, and Terre mere all saw though it.
However, the group turned to Mira, who like Sawyer was bruised and looked like she had just gone to war as she walked off to the cheers of the crowd.
Sorano pouted regarding the fight as she folded her arms, "I would have thought Sawyer would have beaten her," she said, still quite cross.
Erik raised an eyebrow in surprise, "she was the one who defeated him in 791. Or do you not remember?" he said. Sorano huffed in response.
"Besides, Mira is one of the strongest in Fairy Tail, her calm demeanor puts people at ease. I should remember this when I was with them in 791" Jellal said.
"Yeah, right up until Ultear and I had to stop you trying to impress Erza during your fight" Meredy teased. Jellal blushed bright red at this, as Meredy chuckled as well.
By now, the next members were on the field and ready to battle, it was Ren Akatski of Blue Pegasus and Semmes of Quattro Cerberus. The gong sounded and off they went duking it out.
Despite being married, Ren was quite the eye candy for the ladies of Fiore and beyond. Sorano couldn't keep her eyes off him, Meredy was a bit more subtle in her glances, but Sorano teased her about it.
"You have good taste" Sorano whispered to her.
Meredy blushed bright red and stammered, "I don't know what you're talking about?" she said, trying to blow off the question.
"Or are you trying to play the field?" Sorano continued to tease, she was after all, more experienced on those matters.
Meredy tried to keep playing her off, "no way, besides, there's tons of guys that like me, I can have my choice" she said. While this was true, she was still trying to get Sorano to stop teasing her about men. She had never really worried about it as she matured. A tenant of being in Crime Sorciere was not to fall in love with somebody in the light. Jellal had been a lot more lenient on that rule when the members of the Orasion Seis joined their cause.
This leniency was even more prevalent with the fall of Zeref. Even Jellal, who was stalwart in his desire to remain faithful to the tenants Ultear and himself had set out for the group could not keep his eyes away. As he himself was secretly eager to meet up with Erza, his childhood love.
In the meantime, Meredy had talked about the boys interested in her to Sorano. They were Lyon of Lamia Scale and Zeldris of Fairy Tail, and she seemed to catch the eyes of others too. Though when she spoke of Zeldris her memory was flooded of the time she was caught trying to relieve her own floodgates and the rest of that embarrassing encounter.
As she mentioned it and tried to forget about it, her eyes could not help but turn towards the Fairy Tail team B suite, and she looked disappointed to see that Zeldris was not there. She turned her eyes to the action as the two wizards continued to fight, with Ren easily defeating Semmes.
Meanwhile, the reason neither Zeldris nor for that matter anyone else was in the guild's suite was that Mira had been taken to the guild's infirmary. She was being tended to by Porlyusica. Mira was alright, just quite beaten up and seeming to be exhausted.
All the members of Fairy Tail team B, plus Lisanna Strauss, Makarov, and Zeldris's trio were there. Mira laid there on the bed, still looking chipper, and bandaged quite a bit.
"Sorry for having to go so crazy in that fight" she said in that always lighthearted voice of hers.
"No worries big sis! You were absolutely incredible!" Elfman said, before adding, "just like a real man!". This elicited chuckles from the members there.
Mira's kind expression faded as she turned to Zeldris, saying, "Zeldris" as to command his attention. The air in the room changed as an unease filled everyone.
"Now, I must be honest with you, my injuries are going to mean that you will have to take my place on the team" she said, and the unease was heightened.
"Big sis?!" Elfman and Lisanna said in unison.
Mira calmed them down, "Do not worry, I am fine, but I do want some time to rest and recover from using all those Satan Soul forms to defeat Sawyer like that".
"That being said" she said, returning to Zeldris, "you are representing Fairy Tail in the games, and that is the third highest honor that can be bestowed upon you by the guild", Zeldris nodded in response to this.
He then said, "I will do my best and honor the guild that has allowed me to flourish". The rest of the members there nodded, who gave Zeldris a stern look.
Laxus then addressed Zeldris, "you should go and rest up, after all, your sleeping habits are atrocious". Zeldris glared in response as he and the trio that seemed to be like a bodyguard around him followed him out.
