As the quartet left the room, Terre Mere then asked, "Should we do as Laxus said?", followed by, "or should we watch the end of the battles?"
"I would say we should go ahead and eat and get some rest," Zeldris said.
"Besides, every place has lacrimavision for the games I hear" Gabriel said, before he teased and added, "and you and Romeo can have a nice date!"
Terre mere's eyes lit up with glee, "oh my goodness yes! To a dinner date we go!" as she rushed off with Romeo in tow as if he were just being dragged along before he could object.
Gabriel looked at Zeldris dumbfounded, "I did not think she would take me seriously" he said. Zeldris rolled his eyes regarding the sequence of events Gabriel set forth for the eager couple.
As he did this, he noticed Mavis slinking into the Fairy Tail infirmary, she did not see him, however.
"Something is off about that first master of ours," Zeldris said ominously.
"Leave me to investigate that" Erik said, seeming to pop out of nowhere, startling Zeldris.
"And who might you be?" Zeldris asked.
"I am Erik of Crime Sorciere, and I'm investigating for Jellal's sake" he said.
Zeldris nodded, "I see, I shall leave you to that" he said, he was quite uneasy about him.
As he left, Erik said to him something that surprised him, "you should ask out Meredy, she's interested".
Zeldris blushed as red as his suit, he was left speechless, and nodded as he walked off. Gabriel followed Zeldris as Erik stayed to listen closely to the conversations.
"Ah, master Mavis, it's good to see you," Mira said rather chipper.
However, master Mavis was not returning the chipper expression.
"Is there something wrong Master Mavis?" Makarov asked.
"That Zeldris is bothering me, please don't tell me he is going to be competing in the games?" Mavis asked. Each member looked at each other in awkward concern but did not say a word for a long time.
"He is competing in the games, isn't he?" Mavis said sternly, her soft but commanding voice cut through the tension of the room, the tension that she caused of course.
The members nodded in response, she then said, "I'm concerned about him".
"Why is that?" Laxus asked, not impressed by the first master's behavior, as Laxus had faith in master Makarov's judgement about Zeldris and his own interactions with him.
"I want to know what happened on Tenroe Island '' she said, followed by, "I only know that some of our guild members nearly died if it wasn't for the spell cast on the island to protect our guild members' ' she said, ominously.
"You know old man, you never did tell the others about Zeldris's side of the fight" Laxus said, ominously, "I trust your judgement on letting Zeldris in" he added as if to balance out his accusation.
Mavis's brow furrowed, and she glared at Makarov and Laxus.
Makarov by now had finally relented, and began to speak, "Zeldris's account matches Wendy, Carla, and Freed's statements. To simplify Zeldris's statements, he simply lost control of himself in anger as Freed tried to surrender the fight. After the outburst, he feared that he had killed them and fled in panic. He escaped to the Worthwood Sea and did not eat or drink until he was discovered by the members of Crime Sorciere. The rest, you all know" he finished.
Mavis was still not impressed, "fine, if that is your decision, then the blood is on your hands" and Mavis stormed off from the infirmary. Seeming to disappear into the crowd of people that were leaving the arena. Mavis did not notice Erik as she left the infirmary.
"Something is off about her," Laxus said, surprised by the first master's outburst.
"That much was obviously, not very manly," Elfman added as the Strauss sisters rolled their eyes at his remark.
"That's why Jellal's asked me to investigate" Erik said, stepping in, making his presence known. Every single Fairy Tail member's face fell in shock, they all went pale, and went wide eyed. Erik sensed something was up and closed the door, quietly locking it, before anyone else spoke.
"Wait, you mean you can see her?!" Makarov said, looking panicked, much like everyone else in the room.
"Am I not supposed to be seeing her?" Erik asked, still very confused.
"To put it simply, yes," Laxus responded, as he was trying to remain calm. Erik looked at him confused at his remark.
"I think it is right to be concerned" Erik then said, before adding, "Jellal had me investigating the Alvarez guild, and it has led me to concerns about your Master Mavis as well".
"I wonder what connection they have," Makarov pondered.
"I also discovered that the Alvarez Guild have a strong grudge against Zeldris too" Erik added.
This perplexed the Fairy Tail members, who also wondered about the possible connections issues with the Alvarez guild members.
"I know that these events and accusations are concerning but you need to let the poor girl rest. All the negative energy means she won't even be ready for the rest of the games" Porlysusica said.
Makarov then said to Erik, "have Jellal and his members come to our inn, so we can discuss what's going on".
"I will," he said in response.
Everyone minus Laxus and the members of the Strauss family left the room for the trio to tend to Mira along with Porlyusica.
By now, the other battles had ended, Ren Akatski of Blue Pegasus defeated Semmes of Quattro Cerberus in a drawn-out battle. Chelia of Lamia Scale defeated Beth Vanderwood of Mermaid Heel in a one-sided battle. Finally, Ree Zay of the Alvarez guild redeemed himself from his embarrassment in the day's event to defeat Thibault of Twilight Ogre.

The evening itself was nice for Zeldris and his friends. Zeldris had a nice quiet meal, alone and in peace as Erik's words laid heavily on his mind during the evening. Gabriel, meanwhile, had a meal alone, like Zeldris. Besides enjoying his meal, Gabriel focused on the games and what he might need to do to join in the future.
Romeo and Terre Mere had a lovely romantic date and yes even Romeo enjoyed it. Contrary to popular belief he loved Terre mere too, it was just that he was slower to admit it than she was. Romeo of course caught the eye of Terre mere, and she did many things to get his attention as well, plenty of suggestive behaviors, choices of clothing, lack of clothing, etc. Terre mere had always caught Romeo's eye after the incident with the Albion in the desert city. Regardless of their shared moment that many guys would dream of. It was of course slower for him to notice her signals, but he eventually caved and asked her out once things settled down during the search for Zeldris. The couple joked that the job protecting the Eden's One was like a honeymoon cruise for them.
As for that meeting with Crime Sorciere and Fairy Tail, nothing productive came out of it. Erik laid out all the information he knew, but Jellal and himself theorized the link between the Alvarez Guild and Mavis but nothing was conclusive. The only people there were Makarov, Laxus, and Erza for Fairy Tail, and Jellal and Erik for Crime Sorciere.
Zeldris walked in the back door of the inn, noticing the meeting but not saying anything as he went to his room. It did not take long for Zeldris to fall asleep. He was eager to represent Fairy Tail in the games and was hoping for sooner, rather than later.
