"Our first matchup is the adorable Wendy Marvell versus Rocker of Quattro Cerberus' ' Chopati Lola announced as both wizards came to the center of the arena where Mato was standing.
Mato then said to both wizards, "do not forget, you only have thirty minutes to win it, good luck!" as he then turned to let the wizards battle, as the gong sounded for the start.
Rocker leaned back and began to wind up his fist, using his drill magic, "drill magic fist" he said as he aimed for sweet Wendy's face with it.
Wendy, however, was ready, she had learned from the battle with Zeldris, she was ready for hand-to-hand combat, "sky dragon roar" she said, and immediately a column of bright blue and white air hit Rocker like a cyclone
Rocker fell backwards but stabilized himself and he glared, "you ain't ready for a taste of this wild" he said to Wendy before saying loudly, "what are we boys?!".
"WILD!" the members of Quattro Cerberus shouted back in encouragement.
"Am I not wild enough for you?" Wendy said back at Rocker, almost taunting him.
"Now that just ain't wild!" Rocker said, "time for some drill and rock" as Rocker's legs twirled together to form a spinning drill as he charged towards Wendy. Wendy was ready to counter this too, as she twirled her arms together in an attack, saying, "sky dragon, double wing attack!"
The two collided in an amazing clash of magical power. Rocker fell and stumbled backwards, shaking, and grunting as he moved backward.
"I am still wild!" He shouted and tried to use his drill and rock again, but it was no good. Wendy countered with another sky dragon's roar. This knocked Rocker down for good.
"I may be down, but we are still wild!" Rocker said, his fist in the air, as it fell, and he panted, exhausted.
"What an incredible win for the sky dragon slayer of Fairy Tail team A, Wendy Marvell!" Chopati Lola announced excitedly.
"That brings Fairy Tail team A's total to 60 points, they'll be very hard to catch," Mr. Yajima added. The crowd cheered excitedly as Wendy was almost embarrassed from their cheers as she walked off the field. Rocker was rather dragged off the field by some of his guildmates but was in high spirits.
The next two wizards stepped onto the field, Erik the poison dragon slayer and Sho, the newest member of Blue Pegasus. Both were well dressed and eager to win for their teams as day three meant either getting into gear to hang on with the front runners or be subject to being left behind towards the end of the event.
In fact, with Fairy Tail team A winning the death trap maze event, they had basically eliminated Quattro Cerberus and Twilight Ogre from winning prior to the final day, as both would need a miracle just to get into double digits.
"Don't forget, you have thirty minutes to win this battle, good luck" Mato said as he quickly darted off the field and let the two battles it out as the gong then sounded immediately thereafter.
"I'm not gonna stand around and let you beat me" Sho said eagerly, as he drew some cards from his jacket pocket of his suit coat and threw the cards at Erik. Erik managed to jump into the air at the last second, avoiding the cards. The poison dragon slayer looked at Sho with a mocking grin, "so, you're trying to capture me first thing, is that it?" he said.
"Maybe I am" Sho retorted, grabbing more cards, "now, tower, reverse deck, summon lightning!" as massive streaks of lightning struck down on the field, Erik again jumped and leaped clear of the lightning as it tried to strike him down.
He laughed off this attack and then said to Sho, "now, it's time for me to get some hits in", which caught Sho by surprised as Erik leaned back to take a deep breath, "poison dragon roar!" and a red column of what looked like a reddish black liquid came towards Sho. He struggled to dodge it, and some of it hit him.
Erik laughed seeing that he managed to land a hit on Sho, "now your body is flowing with viruses and poisons" he paused before adding, "my victory is now inevitable".
Natsu in the Fairy Tail team A suite rolled his eyes at Erik's words, "he tried that with me when we fought, and I still beat him", which elicited nods of agreement from his guildmates.
By now Sho was already beginning to stumble a bit, "I am not defeated yet". Sho said, pulling out another card and saying, "card of recovery" and a blinding white light purged Sho of the poison and viruses flooding his body.
This blinding light woke up Zeldris with a startle, his skin went pale as a ghost, and began to babble something about an arc, of course it didn't help that Zeldris had been asleep ten minutes after Gajeel finished the race.
The card that Sho used for his recovery tore in two and fell to the ground.
"Don't you have something like that Cana?" Mira asked as the crowd still looked at the scene unfolding in front of them with awe.
"Uhhhhh" Cana said, in her drunken stupor, rather perplexed by the situation, "we'll find out later" she finished.
"So, you can only restore your health once and then your card is destroyed" Erik said, as he began to run towards Sho, "time for a poison dragon scales" as he unleashed a barrage of attacks, small red, black like semi circles towards Sho.
Sho did his best to dodge, even trying to put up some cards as a defense, but even this couldn't last. Those red, black semi circles finally began to land on Sho and this slowed him down a great ton.
"Chelia and I had better get to the infirmary to heal him when Erik gets done beating him" Wendy said, looking dismayed at Sho's worsening performance.
"I could have definitely beat him," Natsu said.
"She wasn't talking to you, flame for brains!" Gray said, before Natsu and Gray got into a tussle.
"Now, to end this fight, poison dragon roar!" Erik said, bringing attention back to the battle, and ultimately it was a finishing move. Sho struggled on the ground before passing out.
"What an incredible finish to this battle, as Erik of Crime Sorciere wins!" Chopati Lola announced over the loudspeakers, prompting a roar of cheers from the crowd. With that win, Crime Sorciere and Blue Pegasus are now tied at 27 points.
"A win to tie, it seems this turnabout is fair play" Mr. Yajima added.
"And next up is the dragon of fire, Apollo, and the one who looks to spin him into a web of defeat, Aranya!" Chopati Lola said.
Apollo walked onto the field with swagger, attempting to impose his presence on Aranya before they even got started. Of course, almost everyone was rooting for Aranya, if not for people's desires to see someone beat the Alvarez goons, it was certainly because of Aranya's choice of clothing. A skintight bodysuit with a design like that of a spider, this of course drew the eyes of all the men and some of the ladies to her, even Zeldris turned a tired gaze to her, if only for a little bit.
Mato, like always, greeted the two wizards in the center of the arena, "as always, thirty minutes to win, and you start once the gong sounds, now let the battle begin!" he said, before quickly running and letting the two wizards duke it out.
"I think it is time to put you Alvarez goons in your place!" Aranya said, followed by, "web shot" and a spider-like silk shot from her hands and quickly wrapped up Apollo, who stood there, unamused.
"Do you think this is gonna stop me?" Apollo said, as he simply engulfed himself in flames, melting the Aranya's web silk that encompassed him.
"Incredible! Apollo just simply melted Aranya's web attack, how will she respond" Chopati Lola announced.
Aranya tried to shoot her web again as Apollo jumped and dodged with ease.
"Ok, it's time for me to end this battle" Apollo said, which caught Aranya off guard, as Apollo leaned back for a deep breath, "fire dragon's roar!" and a big column of yellow-orange flames came from Apollo's mouth and landed a direct hit on Aranya, burning her to a crisp. Poor aranya collapsed, as Apollo held his left fist in the air in triumph.
"And with that fiery performance, Apollo wins this battle for the Alvarez guild and nets ten points!" Chopati Lola said.
"Let's hope Aranya can recover soon from that, as the fire from a fire dragon slayer always feels more potent than a regular fire wizard" Mr. Yajima said, as Aranya slowly made her way off the field. Not many were cheering for Apollo, but his guildmates were cheering, as this moved the Alvarez guild into fourth in the standings with 39 points!
