Xena noticed a woman walking out of a hut with a large head dress on. She watched as the woman walked around the tribe and she noticed women seemed to be taking orders from her as they would come up and leave in a hurry. She was a bit older than the rest and seemed to have more clothes on then what was typical, suggesting she was someone important.
A few moments later Xena noticed the woman ascend to what looked like a stage, another that was traveling with her blew into a horn and joined the older amazon. Within a few moments she saw countless women gathering around and it seemed to almost never end. This tribe was large and they had a lot of women within their tribe.
"Get ready." Xena said to the redhead girl standing next to her with a sword. The girl flashed a signal to the men and women that gathered behind them, and they began to intensely watch and pay attention, as everyone in their bones could feel war was upon them.
Xena began loading a crossbow slowly as she watched the tribe of women shouting, raising their fists as if celebrating something. Some of them began to dance. Just as they all began lowering their hands and fists, Xena aimed for the older woman. She fired.
The bow flew threw the trees and above the amazon women as it ascended into the air sticking itself into the older woman's headdress, yanking it off her and sticking to the wooden fence behind her.
Shocked and completely stunned, the older amazon looked back at her headdress and saw the bow. "Sister's we're being attacked! To arms!" Xena could make out enough of what she was saying to know things were about to get interesting.
The amazon women flooded about grabbing different weapons, swords, staffs, polearms, axes, crossbows, and began charging towards the woods one by one looking for the intruder that stuck their queen.
"Now!" Xena screamed an order!
Within moments, warriors, men and women were pouring out and around Amazon tribe, surrounding them from all sides!
"Ready!"
The army lifted their bows awaiting Xena's order to fire.
"Run!" The Amazon queen screamed! "Duck for cover!" As she saw what was happening as the army swarmed before them lifting their bows.
Xena smirked as bloodlust was in her eyes. Everything was going as planned, she caught the eye of the Queen as smiled with death in her eyes.
At that moment several amazons dropped from the trees behind Xena!
"Fire!" Xena ordered!
Her army shot at the Amazon village with precision and accuracy, landing stunningly breathtaking blows.
Xena, hearing footsteps behind her, drew her sword and quickly spun around, jerking her sword up to parry the incoming attack from the women that tried to sneak up on her.
"Nice try ladies." She said as she eyed the 3 women!
Xena threw her sword at one amazon taking her out. Then she leaped into the air, grabbed onto a large tree branch, swung forward and kicked the other two to the ground.
Xena let go of the branch, flipping into the air, and landing behind the remaining ladies!
The women both dazed and confused with what just happened, struggled to get up.
Xena tumbled into a front flip, grabbing one of the women, and as she was completing the flip, pulled the woman up from the ground, and hurled her straight into a sharp broken branch, going right through her stomach. Death was immediate.
The last Amazon screamed out, "No!" And then got a good look at Xena. "You! How could you do this!? How can you attack your own tribe!?"
"Yeah, sorry, I'm not actually one of you. I posed as one of you to see how many of you we were gonna have to kill."
Xena found her sword lodged in the dead amazon, with a swift kick launched the sword into the air, grabbing it just as it was within reach.
Xena parried an incoming attack from the Amazon, and struck, cutting her right arm off.
"Why are you doing this?"
"You have something of mine, and I'm going to find it. Tell me where the Ambrosia is."
"I'm not telling you anything, you'll never find it."
"Oh, yes I will!" Xena exclaimed as she looked into the woman's eyes, a grin of evil flashed across her face, raising her sword ready to make a striking final blow.
Aaaaahhhh! Xena swung her sword decapitating the amazon, blood flying into the air from her neck as it began pouring down the body as it dropped to the ground motionless.
Xena turned back around and began moving deeper into the tribe, taking on a few women that approached her, defeating them. She quickly walked over to the stage and looked for signs of where the queen had gone. She looked at the footprints and saw they were headed North. Xena began following the trail until she saw a group of Amazon's guarding a woman, hiding behind a hut, that looked like the one on the stage.
A few army men began to approach and stand behind Xena as they waited for her to give the command. "Surrender, and I'll let you live." Xena said looking at the remaining Amazon.
"Amazons don't surrender. NOW!" She said ordering them to fight.
Several amazons went after the men behind Xena, and one came up to her swinging her sword at her head. Xena dodged the attack and dodged another incoming swipe! The amazon kicked Xena in the stomach. Xena drew her sword and began swinging it at one charging her, with scary accuracy, parrying any incoming blows, until she hit the sword so hard it fell out of the amazons hand.
Xena kicked her across the face and she flew to the ground. She lifted the sword and stuck it in the amazons chest.
"NO!" The last remaining amazon said as she belted in pain, seeing the other women get knocked out or killed by Xena's men,
"Who are you? What do you want?"
"I'm here for Ambrosia, I know your tribe is guarding it."
"You cannot have the food of the Gods, Artemis forbids it!"
"I don't think she's here…. So, no one forbids me from doing anything," Xena said smiling evilly. "So, I'll ask you one more time. Where is the food of the gods? Where are you hiding it?"
The queen remained silent.
Xena swung her sword and stuck it in the queen's belly. "Fine, I'll find it without you."
"The Ambrosia is somewhere here; the Amazon tribe was guarding it... Now most of them are dead and aren't guarding anything..." Xena smirked. "It's only a matter of time." A look of evil flashed across her face as she raised her eyebrows and began to smile.
"What is Ambrosia? Why do you want this food again? Can't you order it in a tavern and be done with it?" A redhead said.
"Ambrosia will turn me into a God. It's my destiny before becoming the Destroyer of Nations." Xena said smiling with certainty…
The redhead nodded understandingly.
"Spread out, begin searching every corner of this measly little tribe, let me know when you find the caves."
"Yes ma'am," several men scampered off informing others of their orders to search the premises.
Xena walked deeper into the village, several straw huts were built high into the air, larger than what's normal. This was no ordinary Amazon location, these people had been here for a long time.
As she got further into the village, she noticed a firepit that was blazing with a large cauldron positioned above, hanging by some chains. Xena carefully approached, smelling something familiar. It was boar stew, she could see bits of vegetables and meat bubbling to the surface. She stuck her finger into the stew and tasted it. A little over done but still good. "Guess i'll have to settle for lunch instead."
She was famished, and she knew her army hadn't eaten a decent meal since the beginning of the attack. "Hey, you." She stopped one of her warriors. "Begin feeding these my people. "Make sure everyone gets some, we shouldn't waste such a good meal that was waiting for our arrival, it would be rude." She said with a chuckle.
The warriors took shifts eating, while others looked for the caves that was hiding the Ambrosia.
Xena was closer than ever to reaching her destiny, she had been looking forward to this moment for what seemed like a lifetime. She got excited being so close to her goals, it made her giddy with energy. She started joking around with some of the warriors, playing pranks on them, hiding behind objects and scaring them as they passed by. It put her in a good mood!
A warrior ran up to her with glee in his eyes, "We found the caves."
"Amarice, I want you to round up any remaining Amazon's and put them in chains, we'll sell them for gold later". Yes, Xena.
"Excellent! And one more thing, burn the village down."
