"So you are that Human that can control the elements. We've heard a lot about you." the boy said.
"I'm Emira, and this is Edric. We're Amity's older siblings. We heard about you beating her with ease in a Witch's Duel last week. Not bad, she must have been really embarrassed."
"That wasn't my attention. I was just trying to win and prove something." Luz said.
"Well, whatever you did, Mittens hasn't been acting herself. You definitely did something to her." Edric said.
"I... is it a good kind of something?" Luz asked, "I didn't mean to cause her any pain."
"Eh, don't worry about Mittens, let's go have some fun." Emira said.
They pulled her along and caused some problems in the library. From erasing the word "Non" in Non-fiction, causing a Librarian to panic. They used magic to switch the books, causing the Librarian to panic again. Finally, Edric blew dust into the Demon Decibel System and it spit up cards. Safe to say... they were kicked out.
"Leave it to Mittens to ruin the fun." Edric said.
"You're pretty cool, Cutie." Emira said, making Luz blush.
"Yeah, why don't you help us out tonight? We heard that the Wailing Star unlocks special magic. We're going to sneak in and see if it's true." Edric said.
"Yeah, if you want to help, meet us back here at midnight." Emira said, "See you later, Cutie."
They left and Luz looked around.
"What are they planning?"
Luz turned around and saw Amity.
"Oh, hey. I don't know what they're planning, they just said something about special magic that the Wailing Star unlocks. They said to meet up at midnight."
"Please keep them out of trouble. They would never go to the library unless they wanted to cause trouble."
"Don't worry, I'll make sure they don't cause problems." Luz said putting a hand over her heart, "Avatar's Honor!"
Later, Luz waited for them in front of the library, trying to make a cool waiting pose when Emira spoke up.
"Keep going, this is fun to watch." She said.
"You ready to do this, Human?" Edric asked.
"Y-y-yeah, I want to see this magic." Luz said.
They walked up to the door and looked at the lock.
"It says it's closed, but I'm allergic to the rules." Edric said.
"And dairy." Emira said, handing a paper to Edric.
"Wow, just expose me." He said.
He put the paper up to the lock and it grew, allowing them inside. They stood in the lobby and looked around.
"Wow, standing in a dark room, you guys sure know how to party." Luz said.
"Check it out! The Wailing Star!" Edric said. (BTW, how did he see that before it passed them?)
The star passed them and... nothing happened. They looked around, a little disappointed. Luz walked over to the shelf.
"Wait, the books are all glowy!"
Luz grabbed a book and She opens the book. Almost immediately, something screeches as the birds in the book come to life. They fly around the lobby.
"Wow!" Emira said, "I can't believe it!"
"Wow. The Wailing Star magicked the books to life." Edric said.
Luz, still watching the birds, closes the book. The birds disappear. The three of them share a look, and then grins. They start to mess around at a magazine rack and Edric opens "Regal Couture," which dresses him and Emira in fancy clothing. A peacock flies out of it. Luz grabs "Witch Wares Weekly" and gets a giant sword, among other things. Luz yelps as she falls over. They started messing with graphic novels and when they opened it...nothing.
"Nothing happened." Luz said.
Her words appear in a dialogue bubble. They all gasp when it appears and the twins taking steps back.
"Wow!" They said
That also comes out in a word bubble. Both pop when Luz closes the book, a "THUMP" sound bubble appearing as she does. Later, Luz holding "Snowballs, a History." She looks around a corner and sees Edric, holding the same book. She opens it and pelts him with snowballs. She started laughing until Emira was behind her and opened her own snowball book. Edric ran from Emira as Luz hid in the kids section.
"Is this the book that Amity was reading earlier?" She asked a loud to herself, "Otabin."
She opened the book and a small Otabin came out of it. Luz smiled and started reading. After a minute, she finished her small skimming.
"Otabin spend his days alone amongst the many books he'd sewn. With needle and thread, the pages he mend. But all the while, he longed for a friend."
Otabin looked up.
"Friend?"
"Hey Luz, check out what we found!" Edric said.
They opened a book and a duck came out.
"Aw, it's a cute little ducky!"
Emira started to draw on the book and the duck grew legs. She closed the book and smirked.
"There, now he's extra cute." Emira said, "Want to see what we can do with this book of extinct demons?"
Before Luz could answer, they opened it and a large bi-pedal rat monster appeared.
"This is a... Fear Monger." Emira said, looking it over, "Not that scary."
"Let's make those claws longer." Edric said.
"And let's make their teeth have venom!"
Before they could draw on it. The Fear Monger charged at them. Luz used her Airbending to blow the book out of their hands and then used her Lighting to knock the demon away. The book closed the second it hit the ground and the Fear Monger disappeared.
"Woah, it's one thing hearing about it, it's another thing seeing it in person." Emira said, "Come on. We have something to show you."
Edric looked at the Otabin book and smirked.
"I'll be there in a second. I'm going to... put the demon book back."
Yes, that is the same book Boscha had from "What Happened" that she totally didn't "forget' to return to the library. I know there hasn't been that much Bending in the past two chapters, that will change in the next chapter. Follow, Favorite, and Review for more.
