After Edric... put the book back. He caught up with Luz and Emira. They brought her to the romance section.

"W-w-wow, they romance section, totally lame. U-u-unless you guys are into it." She said, starting to crush on them.

"I think I like... this one." Edric said.

He pulled a book titled, "The Lone Witch and the Secret Room". A secret door opened and Luz walked in.

"Woah, this is so cool."

"Yeah, Mittens thinks her little hideout is a secret." Edric said.

"We found out about this place years ago." Emira said.

"Wait, this is Amity's hideout?" Luz asked, "What are we doing in here?"

"We're going to get Amity's diary." Edric said, "She's been getting us into trouble a lot lately, so we're going to post her diary all over the school as revenge."

"Doesn't that sound fun?" Emira asked, "Imagine how embarrassed she'll be!"

"B-b-but... this is taking it too far." Luz said.

"Come on, it'll be funny." Emira said, trying to convince her, "Come on, Cutie, it's not that bad."

Emira puts her hands on Luz's shoulders and Luz looked at her. Luz grabbed one of Emira's wrist and threw her over her shoulder, sending her into the shelf. Edric took one step to help Emira and Luz sent a gust of wind at him. It was enough to send him back into the wall. Luz looked angry.

"That is enough. Small pranks are one thing, but doing something like this? Invading someone's private thoughts? You two should be ashamed of yourselves!"

"C-c-come on, it's not that bad." Emira said.

"Not that bad? Not that bad?! Do you have any idea what something like this could do?!" Luz yelled, "Back in the Human World, I knew someone who committed suicide because of something like this! Do you want that to happen to Amity! Do you want to bury your little sister?!"

"L-L-Luz, we-"

"Get out!" Luz yelled.

The candle on the desk lights and melted from the massive thing of blue fire that ignited. They quickly left and the fire went away, leaving a small scorch mark and puddle of wax on the desk. Luz calmed down and started to take a few deep breaths, remembering her old Firebending training. She calmed down for a few seconds.

"Hey."

Luz turned around and saw Amity.

"Amity? L-l-look, I know what this looks like, but I-"

"I know, I heard the entire thing." She walked over and pulled her diary out from her books, "I thought I could hide this here and it would be safe. Guess I was wrong."

Luz looked over and saw some of the books on Amity's shelf.

"You like the Good Witch Azura?!"

"You've heard of it?" Amity asked.

"Heard of it? I love it!" Luz said, Luz pulled out her copy of the book, "I carry it with me everywhere!"

"I-I-I thought I was the only one that likes it." Amity said.

"So did I." Luz said.

Amity put her diary in her bag and walked to the entrance of her hideout. She looked behind her at Luz, looking like she was still deciding on what to say.

"Do... do you want to... hang out?" Amity asked.

Luz got a wide smile.

"Yeah, what do you want to do?"

"Well, let's get out of here first, then we can decide."

They started to walk to the exit of the library when they heard a growl.

"Luz, please tell me that was your stomach."

"I wish it was."

They felt the ground shake and looked behind them.

"Otabin?"

Luz saw the massive monster Otabin and saw the book attached to him.

"Amity, I'm going to kill your brother."

Otabin got closer to them and started rhyming.

"With claws and fangs and breaking bones, I found a friend to make my own."

He grabbed Amity and started to run away with her. Luz shot Lightning at him but it was too late, as he was already around the corner. Luz ran after them and prayed that she could get there before it was too late. In the kid's section, there was a massive book that Amity was pressed against.

"Why are you doing this?! I've read you since I was a kid, this isn't you! This is because of my dumb brother!" Amity screamed.

"But friends are what I've always sought. And now a friend my claws have caught."

He started to sew her arm into the book and it turned into a 2d drawing. Amity started to try and pull her arm out.

"No! Let me go!"

Otabin touched, a much smaller needle to Amity's mouth.

"Struggle and try you might, but you will be quiet by the end of the night."

He put the needle through Amity's skin, somehow not drawing blood, and managed to sew her mouth shut. Otabin continued to sew her body into the book.

"Amity!"

Amity looked at Luz with tear filled eyes. Luz looked at Otabin, angrily.

"Let go of her!"

Otabin grabbed his needle and charged at her. Luz jumped over it, using her Firebending to gain a boost. Luz landed and sent a gust of Air at Otabin. He easily brushed it off and grabbed her. The only problem was, he grabbed her in a way where her arms were free. She blasted a thing of fire at him and he growled. He threw her on the otherside of the room, hitting the shelves and landing on the ground with a thud, motionless. Amity wanted to scream for Luz, but she couldn't with her mouth sewn shut.

"Mmhp! MMHP!"

Amity struggled as Otabin continued to sew her into the book. He just needed to sew her head and she would be trapped. Amity noticed Luz start to get up and keep facing the wall. Otabin noticed it to and put one foot towards her. That was enough to make her turn around, revealing her glowing eyes. She instantly turned around and blasted fire at Otabin. She switched between fire and air, both hurting and knocking him back. Amity watched this, noticing how Luz moved like a completely different person. Luz shot another thing of fire, this time, aiming at the book. It was sent up in flames and Otabin disappeared. The book disappeared, letting Amity go and removing the stitches from her mouth. Luz looked at her and Amity saw those glowing eyes. It was like she was possessed.

"L-L-Luz?"

Luz's eyes stopped glowing and Luz looked at Amity, completely horrified.

"A-A-Amity, I-I-I..."

Luz quickly ran away from her. Amity started to chase after her. She found Luz by the entrance, crying.

"Luz?" No response, "Luz, what was that?"

Amity sat next to Luz.

"Luz, what was that?"

Luz wiped a few tears away.

"I-I-It was... it was my... it was my Avatar State."

"What?"

"It's a defense mechanism. When it's activated, I have the knowledge of all the past Avatars. I... I hate it." Luz said.

"Why?"

"I first learned that I was the Avatar when I was about eleven. I found out when the Avatar State activated in order to... it was a terrible night."

Amity grabbed Luz's hand.

"Luz, are you afraid that I'll be afraid of you?"

Luz nodded.

"Luz, I won't leave you because your powerful. You're my friend."

Luz looked at her.

"Friend? You... you want to be friends?"

"Yes."

Luz hugged Amity, calming down a little.

"I'm sorry about the book." Luz said.

"It's fine, the library has four more copies of it."

"Thanks, Amity." Luz said, getting up, "We should probably go clean up."

Luz and Amity cleaned up the mess and Luz accidently kicked a book. She picked it up and looked it over.

"This is the demon book."

She put it in her bag and they started to walk out.

"Thanks again, Amity. Could you... not tell anyone?"

"Sure, Luz. See you later."

"Wait, because I kinda led to you almost being stuck in a book. Why don't you borrow this?"

Luz held out her Azura book.

"A-a-are you sure?"

"You didn't seem to have the fifth one."

Amity smiled and took it. She waved goodbye and they went their separate ways. Luz wanted to get back to the Owl House, not only because she was tired, but also because she... felt something when she touched the book. Something weird.
