Bump looked at Eda.
"Edalyn, what a... pleasant surprise. What can I do for you?"
"I'm here to enroll my apprentice into Hexside. You got a pen?"
Bump stood up and walked over to a cabinet. He pulled out a file and slammed it in front of her.
"If you signed it and had her bring it in, I would've just accepted it. But seeing as you're here." He looked at her, "I'll accept her into Hexside, if you clean up all the messes you made."
Eda looked at the massive stack of papers in front of her. It would've been so easy to just walk out and forget it, but she thought about it. Luz has already done so much for her, she had to make it up to her.
"Bring it."
Bump smiled. In another part of the school, Gus entered the room with the H.A.S inside.
"It seems the President has arrived. Ready for your last day?" A Construction Track kid named Mattholomule said.
"I don't think so." Gus said, "Ladies and Gentleman, let me introduce you to the Isles resident Human... Avatar Luz!"
Luz walked in and the students, except Matt, were amazed.
"You're friends with the Avatar?!" A Healer named Bo asked.
"The things she's taught me about humans is incredible." Gus said, "I'll let you take it from here, Luz."
"Thank you, Gus." Luz said, "In the Human Realm, Humans are capable of using one of the four elements. Fire, Air, Water, or Earth. I was born a Firebender and it's my best element. Any questions?"
A Bard student that resembled a goat put his hand up.
"What do you mean you were born a Firebender?"
"You see, you don't learn you're the Avatar until your sixteen. I was a special case and found out around 10 or 11. I accidently Waterbent, and Firebenders aren't known for using their opposite Element."
Luz wasn't comfortable telling people the real story. The only person that knows the real story is her mom. The only reason her mom knows is because she was there. In another part of the school, Eda was dealing with her... many problems she caused. She removed her Hexed Graffiti, the Ghost from the locker room, and she was currently carrying a bag full of her purple Hexes.
"You're enjoying this, aren't you?" Eda asked.
"Very much, yes." Bump said, "I'm actually quite impressed. You're doing all this just for a girl you met less than a month ago?"
"That girl is special. You have no idea what I'll do for her."
Bump smiled. Even though he had his problems with Eda, he knew she had a big heart. He handed her a broom and Eda's face put up a forced smile. Outside, the person orders his men to move the cage closer to the school.
"We have to make this look like an accident." He said, "If we don't, we're as good as dead."
They waited for the signal.
"Now!"
They opened the cage and the beast ran towards the school. In the H.A.S Meeting, Luz was going over what items they had were used for.
"That's a paperclip, it's used to hold papers together, but it can be used to make art."
Luz was about move on to the next item, when the ground started shaking.
"This... this is normal for schools here, right?"
There was screaming in the hall and a massive snake type creature. It burst through the door and large frills came out as it hissed. It shot venom from its massive fangs. The group hid behind Luz as she looked at the door frame.
"Everyone go, now! I'll distract it!"
Luz hits it in the eye with fire as the members ran through the small gap between the bottom of the frill and the floor. Luz waited until they were all out before hitting it with a lightning strike and sliding between the frill and floor. The Snake monster tried to get out, but its frills managed to get it stuck.
"Okay my fire and lightning only seem to distract it. Its scales must be fire proof." Luz said.
"What is going on!?" Bump asked.
"Kid, what did you do?"
"Eda? I didn't do this, and what are you doing here?"
"I'm getting you enrolled. The real question-"
The snake monster broke free and looked at the group.
"A Taka?" Bump said, "But they're supposed to be extinct."
The Taka shot more venom, but Luz used her Earthbending to make a rock wall between them.
"What do we do?!" Luz asked.
"I am unsure." Bump said, "It has hard scales, the only place the it can be hurt is the area behind it's frills."
Luz looked around, there had to be somewhere it can be trapped. That's when she saw it.
"We can trap it in the detention room!"
Bump thought about it for a quick second. It could work.
"Agustus, you and your little... club, need to get the students out of there. Edalyn and I will distract it." He turned to Eda, "Are you ready to do something good for the school for a change?"
Eda smiled.
"Let's go mess with a demon."
The Taka broke through the wall and Bump and Eda hit it with several spells. It went to attack them, but they were able to dodge it. Gus and the others were getting the students out of the detention room while Luz was getting ready to follow her plan.
"Is everyone out?" Luz asked.
"Yes." Gus replied.
"Alright. Get away from here."
Luz ran up and hit it with fire, getting its attention.
"Hey! Over here!"
The Taka shot venom at her and she avoided it. She started running towards the room. She used her Airbending and blew the doors open. She ran in and saw the giant pit with tentacles and... are those teeth?
"This... is terrifying."
It was one thing being told about it, it was another seeing it. Luz jumped over the pit, right as the Taka showed up. She used her Firebending to give herself a boost. She landed on the other side and kicked the wall, sending a rock pillar towards it. It hit the Taka in the head and sent it down into the pit. Luz used her Earthbending to send the pillar onto its neck, right behind the frills. The speed of the pillar, and the way it was positioned, led to it going through its neck, killing it. Luz ran out of the room.
"You okay, Kid?" Eda asked.
"Yeah, I think so."
"Everyone, please leave the building." Bump said, "I need to alert the Coven about this."
He walked over to Luz.
"I will be seeing you next semester." He said.
Maybe one day he would tell Eda that he would've accepted Luz into Hexside without her doing all that work.
"Come on, Kid. Let's go home, mama needs a nap."
In another part of the Isles, Kikimora walked up to the throne.
"Sir, I have a message from Principal Bump. There was an attack at Hexside."
Belos stood up.
"They're getting bold. Send some guards to assess the damage and help clean up." Belos said, "And begin preperations for the Day of Unity."
"But we don't have everything we need yet."
"I don't care, they are getting more aggressive."
"And... what of the Human Girl."
"Have the Golden Guard watch her." He said, "The Avatar needs to be protected."
