Luz paced back and forth in the living room. She has spent hours looking through her demon book. She can't understand why, but... she feels connected to one demon. The problem is, most of the pages about it are missing.
"Kid, you've been staring at that thing for hours. What are you looking for?" Eda asked.
"I can't explain it Eda, but I feel something on this certain page. I want to know more about it, but the pages are missing. The only thing I learn about is its eggs."
"Eh, who cares about some eggs. Let's talk about the best way to scam someone."
Luz closed her book and stood up.
"Hey, where are you going?" Eda asked.
"I'm going to the library. Maybe they have something that can help me."
Luz walked out of the door and started to walk to Bonesborough. She was passing a few markets with people and their kids.
"Mom, that's her." A kid said.
"It's the Avatar." An adult said.
"You think she'll give me an autograph?"
Luz smirked, she's become the most popular people on the Isles. She began to move a little faster to the library. She went in and walked over to the demon section.
"Well, at least they're forward." Luz said.
She grabbed several books about demons, both living and extinct.
"Okay, let's see if I can find something about the demon these eggs belong to."
"Death Glider. Let's see, does it lay eggs?" She asked, looking through the pages, "There has been egg shells near it's known nesting ground, but other than that, not much is known about them or their mating and breeding."
Luz looked at the picture of the egg shell.
"No, these eggs were black. The ones I'm looking for are an off white color with gray specks. Let's see... Taka. Isn't that what Bump called the snake creature that attacked the school? Let's see... no, those eggs are soft like the snakes in the Human Realm, what I'm looking for is similar to an ostrich egg."
Luz flipped the page and looked at the next demon.
"Hell Hound... these have live births, so that's not helpful."
Luz looked through the books for three hours.
"Death Glider, Fear Monger, Hell Hound, Taka, Styll, Sixx, Sharpshot, Extinguished Phoenix, Blood Lizard, Demonic Change Worm, Shadow Wolves, Spectre, Hell Raptors, Lava Gator, and several other demons... some of them lay eggs, some of them give live birth, some... I want to erase from my mind. The ones that do lay eggs, they don't even resemble these eggs." Luz closed the book and put her book back in her bag, "How am I going to figure this out?"
"Sounds like a problem." A voice said.
The owner of the voice sat on the opposite side of the table and Luz looked up.
"Boscha?"
"If only you knew someone that had first hand experience with demons. Perhaps a certain hybrid, whose mother has a whole library full of demonic books almost as old as the Isles."
"You could just ask if I want to come over to your house." Luz said.
"Am I that obvious?" Boscha asked.
"Well, if you can help me, then I'll gladly except."
"Great!" Boscha said, excitedly.
Boscha pulled Luz out of the library and all the way to her house.
"This is your house? It's huge!" Luz said.
"Yeah, my family is rich." Boscha said.
Boscha dragged Luz into the mansion.
"I'm home!"
A person that Luz assumed was Boscha's father came in.
"Hello, darling."
"Hi, daddy. Where's mom?" Boscha asked.
"She's at work, and I'm also off to work." He noticed Luz, "Who is this? A new friend?"
"This is the girl I was talking about. She's the Avatar." Boscha said, "She has questions about demons. I'm taking her to the manor library because mom has a collection of demon knowledge."
"Alright, dear." He kissed Boscha's third eye, "Remember to drink your potion, we don't want your tail coming out and breaking another vase."
"Okay, daddy."
He left and Luz looked at Boscha.
"You have a tail?"
"Please don't ask me about that." Boscha said, "To the library."
Boscha led Luz to the library.
"Wow, this place is amazing!" Luz said, "So where do we start?"
"First, you show me what you were looking for."
Luz took out the book and flipped through the pages.
"I'm trying to find out what demon lays these eggs."
Boscha took the book and looked at them.
"I think I've seen these eggs in a book when I was a kid." She handed the book back to Luz, "Hold on a second."
Boscha jumped on a wall and started walking up it.
"You can walk on walls!?"
"One of my many abilities." Boscha said, "Let's see. Got it!"
Boscha jumped down and handed Luz the book. She opened it and saw... more damaged pages.
"Why is this book damaged to?!"
"What?!" Boscha took the book and looked at it, "Something's going on here. This book was fine not that long ago."
"Boscha, is there anyone that wants those pages?"
"I don't know, but I do know that I have to tell my parents about this. If someone managed to get in here without us knowing, then that means they could sneak in and kill us."
"Boscha, is there anyone else that could help me."
"There... there is one person that may help."
"Who?"
"The... the Bat Queen. But let's just say, she isn't a big fan of my family."
