Lilith and Eda, with Luz, flew towards the Knee.
"So, what exactly are we up against?" Eda asked.
"There isn't much that the Coven knows, but there has been magic even older than the Savage Age. Not to mention that we've recovered bodies, both of witches and animals." Lilith said.
"All you had to say was they murdered a few people." Eda said, "Well, Luz, looks like you might have a chance to find that glyph."
"I still think you should've left her at home." Lilith said, "It's extremely dangerous to bring a child on this mission."
"This 'Child' is the Avatar. You know, the most popular person on the Isles, Master of the Four Elements? Bringing her to a place full of water is going to help both of us."
"Plus, I could look for this demon."
"Luz, that demon has been dead for a long time." Eda said, "You are way too obsessed with it."
"I have to agree with Edalyn. Even if it was alive, I highly doubt a cold blooded demon would be in frozen wasteland." Lilith said.
"For your information, a Protector Demon, is able to change its blood from cold blooded to warm blooded in a frozen environment."
"Lily, don't get her started on that demon book of hers." Eda said.
They landed on the Knee and got off the staffs. Luz wanted to get started, but Eda grabbed her by her hood.
"Not so fast, Kid. You aren't ready for the cold."
"Edalyn is correct, it gets quiet cold here."
Eda and Lilith made a spell circle, resulting in the three of them being covered in winter clothes.
"There, now we're ready for the cold." Eda said.
They began to walk up to top.
"The earliest witches came to the Knee to develop their magic, drawn to its natural power."
Eda motions to the ruins which Luz found beautiful.
"Wow, this is just like the old ruins in the North Pole." Luz said.
"With that being said, it is also quite dangerous." Lilith said, motioning to the creature biting a log, "The Slitherbeast."
"It looks a little small." Eda said.
"Very true, only a little shorter than us, Edalyn. I would say this was one of last year's newborns."
"Newborn?"
"Yes, they stay with their parents until for a year before going out on their own." Lilith said, "While not as dangerous as an adult, it still could cause life threatening injuries, so it's best to stay away."
Lilith and Eda brought Luz away from it. They brought her to the ruins.
"Now, if you want to find that glyph while Lily and I work on this." Eda said, "We'll be right back."
Luz looked around the ruins while Lilith and Eda discussed a plan. Luz got distracted when she heard something moving in the bushes. She began to walk towards it and was about to move it.
"Look out!"
Luz quickly stomped the ground and a rock wall blocked the fire spell.
"Sorry!"
Luz lowered the wall and saw the Blight family.
"Amity, what are you doing here?" Luz asked.
"I'm training to beat Emira's high score on the practice exam." Amity said.
"Oh, Mittens, that's never going to happen." Emira said.
"She still has to use a training wand." Edric said.
Luz had a deadpan expression. Before they knew it, Emira and Edric were encased in ice up to their necks.
"So, want to practice?" Luz asked.
"Sure."
The two start to walk away.
"Uh... you're going to let us out, right?" Emira called out.
With Eda and Lilith, they were looking at a destroyed campsite.
"We've seen this symbol everywhere these attacks have taken place." Lilith said, "The Emperor seems worried, but no one in the Coven knows what it is."
"Has he, I don't know, said anything about it!?"
"No, he keeps talking about how the 'time has come' and 'they're coming' but that means nothing to the rest of us."
"I've never seen a symbol like this before. It definitely doesn't originate from here, maybe... no, there's no way." Eda said.
"What? What is it?"
"Maybe, if no one knows about this symbol on the Isles, is because... it's not from the Isles."
"Are... are you suggesting... this symbol... is from the Human Realm?"
"There's a lot of things no one here knows about the Human Realm, this might be something bad from there. The fact that the Emperor is worried, means something powerful is coming."
"But... Edalyn, if the Emperor knows... what this symbol is... that would mean-"
"He's from the Human World."
Amity was knocked back by Luz's Waterbending. Amity used her wand and made a fire spell. Luz caught the magenta flame and held it in her hand. It turned blue and she shot it back at Amity, who dodged it and found herself trapped in ice.
"Well, it looks like I win." Luz said.
"How are you so good?" Amity asked, "You can take two completely different elements and make them work together perfectly."
Luz used her bending and melted the ice.
"Well, Fire and Water are opposing elements, I was a unique case though. I was born as a Firebender and have a natural talent for it. I'm a prodigy at it, which is why I can shoot lighting and have blue fire. Waterbending should be my worst Element, but because my mom is the best Waterbender in the world, a master of the highest degree. She spent most of her life learning from every master there is. She's a modern day Katara." Luz said, "I learned almost all the Waterbending I know from her."
"Even that... Bloodbending, thing?"
Luz's mood changed.
"No."
