Luz groaned as she started to wake up. She looked around and found herself in a cave. She rubbed her jaw and realized something.

"I'm... healed?" She said, "My mom taught me everything I know about healing and medical problems, there is no way I should be even able to talk."

Luz heard something and looked behind her.

"I-I-It's you." She said, "A Protector."

Luz got up and walked over to the carnivorous demon.

"You have adapted to the cold. You have hair instead of scales, you're most likely warm blooded instead of cold blooded. Amazing." She said, "Did... did you heal me?"

The demon licked a wound on Luz, which caused a small cut to heal.

"Every one of your species has a special power, yours must be able to heal." Luz placed a hand on the demons head, "Thank you."

Luz looked at the back of the cave and saw something. She walked over and saw two smashed eggs, with two underdeveloped babies.

"You're... you're the female." She said, "Protectors mate for life, where's your mate?"

The demon looked down, which caused Luz to know what happened. Luz started to get angry.

"Did it have to do something with those people that kidnapped my friends?" Luz asked, "I have to go stop them. Will you help me?"

The Protector walked to the back of the cave and used its tail to swipe snow off of something. Luz saw one last egg, hidden from everything.

"I understand. Protect your egg, I'll go fight them and make sure they never hurt one of you again."

Luz ran out of the cave and made it to the place they were taken from. Luz found foot prints and was about to follow them, when she stopped.

"They beat me with ease." Luz sat in the snow, "How can I beat them? They have Chi Blockers, bending, and a large group. I have weak Airbending, subpar Earthbending, and they most likely have kept any water away. That only leaves my Firebending."

Luz laid down in the snow and looked at the night sky. She watched the stars when something caught her attention.

"Is that... a light glyph? But... what does that mean?"

A snowflake landed on her hand and she saw a pattern. She used her finger and redrew it in the snow. She tapped it and a small pillar of ice rose from the ground.

"I don't know who these people are, but I know that they have the people I care about." Luz stood up, "I'm coming for you."

Luz ran after the footsteps, not stopping until she made it to a fairly abnormal building.

"This definitely doesn't belong here." Luz put her hand against it, "Damn, I'm not a Metalbender."

Luz pulled out a small note pad she had and started drawing on them. After she got enough of them, she looked at the door.

"Time to do this the old fashioned way." She said.

Inside the building, a group of men were studying vials of blood.

"With this we are one step closer to success." One said, "Caine will be pleased."

Amity was slamming her shoulder against the cage, which caused one of them to walk over to the cage.

"It looks like someone still has some fight in them." A man said, "Do we still have that demon's venom?"

"Yes, what do you want to do with it?" Another asked.

"Grab her and bring her out, we're going to see what happens when you inject it into someone."

"There are two different kinds, which one?"

"Surprise me."

They brought over a needle and took Amity out of the cage. Amity struggled against the man's grip.

"Oh, don't worry, there's only a high chance you'll die."

He was about to inject her, when a large dent formed on the door. The entire group stayed still, afraid of what was doing that. Another dent formed, then it got quiet for a second. A large boulder was sent through the door and Luz ran in, sending fire at several of them. The person holding Amity pulled her closer and put the needle against her neck. Luz stared at him.

"Let her go!" Luz said.

"The way I see it, if I let her go, you can take me down, so I don't think I will." He said, "You use fire, you burn her. You can't use Earthbending because we're surrounded by metal. Air would do nothing. And you don't have any water."

Luz held up a few glyphs.

"That's what you think."

Luz slammed the glyphs on the ground, creating several small ice pillars. She used her Waterbending and melted the ice. She performed a water whip and hit the man in the head, making him let go of Amity and the needle. Several more men surround Luz.

"Amity, get them out, I'll handle this!" Luz said.

Amity ran to the cage and Luz started to fight off the others.

"So, you want to fight with the Avatar, huh?" Luz got into her Firebending stance, "Then bring it on."

So, this chapter was going to be longer than I thought, so I'm going to split it into two chapters. Follow, Favorite, and Review for more.
