Luz watched as they also got into a stance.
'Air, Fire, Water, Earth' Luz noticed, 'They're all benders.'
Luz placed several Ice Glyphs behind her and making an ice wall, blocking the Airbender's attack. She used her Waterbending to melt the ice and hit the Firebender with a large amount of water. Luz stomped her foot and the rock she used to break the door slammed against the Airbender. She put two fingers up and smirked at the Waterbender.
"Your turn." She said.
Luz quickly hit the Waterbender with Lightning. She looked at the Earthbender.
"One on one." She said.
The Earthbender slammed his hands on the ground and bent the metal floor. Luz paled.
"Oh, you can Metalbend." Luz said.
"What, the Avatar isn't able to?" He asked, with an evil smirk.
Luz glared at him.
"No, but I can do this!"
Luz shot blue fire at him, which he avoided by making a wall of metal. At the cage, Amity was trying to pick the lock. Eda tried her best to tell her how, but this wasn't like any lock she had seen.
"Wait, Edalyn, I've seen that lock before." Lilith said, "It was in one of your books from earlier. That's a Firebender lock!"
"So pretty much, we can't get out without Luz." Eda said.
"Not necessarily." Emira said, "What if we trick the lock."
"How?"
"Simple, Amity knows a fire spell." Edric said.
"But... I can't do it without the wand and the wand was destroyed." Amity said.
"Amity, look at me." Emira said, "You can do it. You're strong, you're powerful, you are the best witch I've ever known. I believe in you."
"So do I." Edric said, "We may not have shown it, but we are proud to be your siblings. I don't know what we did to deserve a sister as cool as you."
Amity felt herself smile, something that has been so foreign to her.
"Okay."
She made a spell circle and focused on the pink flame in her hands. She moved it over to lock.
"Come on, come on!" Amity said, "Please work."
After a minute, it was unlocked.
"Yes!"
"That's our little sister." Emira said.
Amity began to open the cage when she felt something pierce her neck. Luz was getting beaten by the Earthbender. She decided to switch up her strategy. She blasted a continuous shot of fire at the metal wall he was hiding behind.
"You think the fire will melt it? Pathetic."
"I'm not trying to melt it." Luz said.
The man's hands began to heat up and he screamed in pain from the searing metal he was touching. Luz slid an Ice Glyph at him and he was hit by an ice pillar, knocking him out. She smiled until she saw the leader, holding a needle in Amity's neck.
"A demon with two different venoms. Let's see if which one is this." He said, "Maybe it's the kind that will give you a, slow, painful death. Or maybe it's the other one, the one that we have no idea what it is capable of."
He pulled the needle out and shoved Amity onto the floor, knocking her out. Eda and Lilith got enraged by that and charged at him. He managed to use the metal floor and locked their feet in place with his bending. Luz looked at Amity's body on the floor and got angry. She charged at him and punched him. Luz sent a blast of fire at him, which he easily dodged.
"It seems I struck a nerve. Does she mean something to you?" He asked, "Come on, go crazy on me, go into your Avatar State, use some incredible Bending on me... Bloodbend me."
Luz's eyes widened at that. She's only done that twice in her life, one back home and one back during the conjuring... she was being watched. The Earthbending leader smirked and used her distraction to his advantage.
"Surprised? Not yet." He said.
He made a spell circle and hit Luz with a spell. Luz landed on the ground with a thud. He got on top of her and smirked, making sure to keep Luz's hands held down so she can't use bending.
"I thought the Avatar was supposed to be powerful."
"How are you able to bend and use magic!?" Luz demanded.
"Wouldn't you like to know."
Luz looked around for something when she saw something outside.
"Do you know what that demon was named?" Luz asked.
"No and I don't care." He said.
"They're called a Protector, do you know why they're named that?" Luz asked, "It's because they will always protect someone in need."
The man heard something coming and looked in time to see the Protector pounce on him. She bit down on his neck and started tearing flesh as he screamed. Luz got up and ran over to Eda and the others.
"Eda, can you get out?"
"I might know a spell, but it could take a few minutes." Eda said, "Go focus on Minty."
Luz moved over to Amity, who was starting to wake up.
"L-L-Luz?"
"I'm here Amity. Are you feeling okay?"
"I... I think so." Amity said.
"Can you move?"
Amity raised a hand.
"Good, that means you got the venom that will result in you dying, otherwise you would be paralyzed right now. Still, we should get you to a Healer. There's no telling what might happen with that going through your veins."
"What do we do about that?" Eda asked, pointing at the Protector.
"Let me deal with that, just get her medical attention. This is something that needs professional help."
Eda and the twins focus on Amity, Luz focused on the demon, Lilith... found something. Later, at the castle, Lilith kneeled in front of the Emperor.
"My Emperor, the mission was a success, I discovered and eliminated the people responsible."
"Very good, Lilith." Belos looked at her, "Something troubles you?"
"The people responsible, they... they had both magic and abilities similar to the Avatar."
Under his mask, Belos paled.
"This is troubling news. Is there anything that can help find out who is responsible?"
"I... I found something with a possible name." Lilith said, holding out the item.
Belos took it and looked at the name.
"C. Whittebane"
Belos nearly dropped the item as memories flashed in his head.
"Stop this madness, Caine!"
"You're too late, Philip! A new age is about to begin!"
"My Emperor, is something wrong?" Lilith asked.
"I... I... I'll be in my quarters. There are to be no interruptions!"
Belos quickly walked to his room and locked the door behind him.
"It can't be." Belos leaned over his desk, barely able to stand, "Caine can't be back, he can't be."
