The Last Drop was exceedingly popular, the line outside the door was ridiculously long, but what surprised Sapphire the most, was the two huge bouncers outside the door. She glanced down at the card in her hand again, rereading it and flipping it over. That line had to be at least 30 people deep and yet with this card she could skip it and not have to pay the fee. She hadn't been exactly sure what to wear to this club, but it looked like she hadn't done too bad. She was wearing a black high-low skirt, and a silver tank top, which shimmered when she moved, that she'd bought from Piltover with the extra money she'd gotten from the Eye of Zaun's purchase. Black heels that barely reached two inches, held her up. She could already feel them digging into her feet after the walk from the Promenade to the Lanes, but once she got inside she could hopefully find a place to sit. She did not wear any jewelry except for the earrings she always wore. two white gold rings with a charm hanging from them. One a sun, the other a lightning bolt. She wondered if she should have put on more makeup, the crowd in the line looked like they had caked it on and she just had put on some lip gloss. She shook her head of these thoughts and headed for the front of the line, flinching when she heard angry shouts aimed at her. She showed the bounder on the right the card and he grinned at her with golden teeth as he took the card and let her inside. Sapphire could feel the bass moving through the club the minute she stepped into The Last Drop. The lights were constantly moving and strobing, sometimes with the music and sometimes not. Yep, this was most definitely a club and absolutely not her scene. Well, if she'd come this far already she might as well buy a drink.
Sapphire stepped around and squeezed between fellow patrons as they danced and jumped around the club, making her way to the bar where a few bar stools remained open. She sighed when she finally sat down, feeling her feet aching already.
The bartender smiled at her as she sat down, "What can I get for you, Miss?" Sapphire blinked in surprise. It was nice to be called miss for once, she was getting sick of being called darling and the like by people.
"Um…" Sapphire glanced up to the bar menu, wishing she'd looked at it sooner. "Oh! I'll take a watermelon apple ale, please." She requested. He nodded and made the drink, passing it to her when she paid him. Sapphire read the name tag on the man's shirt, Thieram. He just looked like a regular bartender, not like one of Silco's goons.
"If you'd like more drinks, you're more than welcome to open a tab." Thieram offered, smiling at her still.
"Oh, um, thank you, but I'm good." Sapphire turned away slightly from the bar to watch the club life as she took a tip of her drink. It was refreshing and for the amount of alcohol in it, went down very smoothly.
Sevika was in her usual booth, playing cards and stealing all those suckers' money that dared to play with her. As a new hand was being dealt, she pulled out a cigarette and lit it, glancing over the club for anyone suspicious. As Silco's right hand, she had to be on guard all the time. Her eyes darted to the right when she saw something bright moving by the bar. It was that stall keeper from earlier this morning. She huffed at the girl's attire, a bit too much for the Lanes but it was eye-catching. She got up from the booth, ignoring the grumbles of people as she pushed through them. She kept her eyes on the stall girl the entire walk across the bar. Sevika noticed she was only drinking before she made her way up the stairs. Sevika walked down the hallway and knocked on the darkwood door that housed her boss.
"Come in." Silco spoke, not even looking up from the papers he was sifting through. Sevika walked into his office, pulling the door shut behind her. When she didn't speak he sighed and set the paper down. "What is it?" His voice had a bite to it, he really didn't like being bothered while he was trying to work.
"That stall girl you wanted to commission? She's here. At the bar." Sevika answered. Silco blinked with his one good eye before a corner of his lip quirked up.
"I didn't expect her to show up so soon. I need to draw up a reference for what I need her to make. When she finishes her drink, her next one is on the house. Send her up after she's finished that one." Silco ordered, grabbing a clean sheet of paper and a pencil as opposed to his usual pens. Sevika nodded and left the office, heading back downstairs and over to the bar.
"When she finishes that drink, give her a new one. Silco's orders. And give her this." Sevika passed a napkin to Thieram, who only nodded at the order. He had always been afraid of Sevika, so he would never dare disobey an order.
Sapphire had just been steadily drinking her ale as the music and people raged on behind her. However she raised an eyebrow when she noticed the bulky woman from earlier today go behind the bar and speak quietly to Thieram. As the woman walked away, Sapphire decided it was about time she bounced. She finished the rest of her drink and as she went to get up from the barstool, another fresh ale appeared in front of her. "...I didn't order this." Sapphire told Thieram after he had set it in front of her.
"Compliments from the house." Thieram replied before also sliding a napkin across the counter to her. He turned away to clean some glasses. Sapphire frowned and turned the napkin over to find writing on it. "When you finish your drink, the Boss wants to meet you." Sapphire felt all the air leave her lungs as a cold chill ran down her spine. This had been planned. The note wasn't just an invitation to The Last Drop, it was to set up a meeting. She swallowed nervously, glancing around the bar only to meet eyes with that bulky woman. Sapphire flinched when the woman smirked, tapped at her pocket watch and mimicked drinking.
Sapphire swore her heart was going to pound out of her chest as she sipped the new ale, unable to keep her hand from shaking. Why did the Undercity crime boss want to meet with her? She had no skills with anything he would be interested in, at least she didn't think so. She chewed her bottom lip nervously, praying that maybe he was just interested in some more pieces for his daughter. She could do that, no problem. But if that was the case, it wouldn't be this secretive. Right? Sapphire could feel the minutes passing by as her thoughts whirled around in her head. She sighed deeply, threw her drink back and set it back on the counter. Within only a few seconds the bulky woman was at her side. "Come with me." Sapphire only nodded as she got off the stool, still feeling nervous but at least she had some alcohol in her to calm her nerves.
Sapphire followed the woman through the club, dodging and sneaking in between the hyped up dancers. Sapphire only noticing now that most of their eyes were glowing a vibrant purple. Shimmer. Oh what the hell was Sapphire thinking in coming here. They headed upstairs and into a well lit hallway. Sevika knocked on the second door on her right, a very dark door, Sapphire guessed it was made of Darkwood.
"Come in." Silco's voice from behind the door had done nothing to calm Sapphire's nerves, instead only raising it. Sevika opened the door and gestured for Sapphire to go inside. Sapphire took a deep breath, trying to steele herself as she walked through the door and into his office. Sevika closed the door behind her and Sapphire could only watch as Silco set a sheet of paper down on his desk. It felt like he was staring straight through her before he spoke again. "Sit."
