The following afternoon after taking care of some morning paperwork, Midoriya found himself standing outside of Kamui Woods' and Mt. Lady's hero agency. Part of the green haired man was now regretting not suggesting a different venue for this meeting to take place. But now wasn't really the time to think about that sort of thing. To be fair, he only saw himself having to be here for an hour at the most. But having to surround himself with heroes didn't exactly leave a good taste in his mouth.

Despite his misgivings towards the current situation, the young Inspector managed to push all of his current feelings to the side. Resolving himself to come off as friendly and as professional as possible. One of the few bright sides to all of this was that Shiozaki seemed like the type of person that wouldn't be too difficult to deal with. Midoriya still couldn't really get a good read on the woman. On the surface, she presented herself as a rather polite and sincere individual. But even knew better than to just take something like that at face value.

Part of a heroes job was to uphold their public image. So naturally anyone in that occupation would want to avoid being looked at as "difficult" to be around. However, there was something about the woman that made Midoriya believe that this wasn't really the case.

As one would expect, he did quite a bit of digging into all of the heroes that him and Kaniko were going to be working with. And for the young heroine known as "Vine", the woman had a near spotless record to her name. She may not have been incredibly popular as far as rankings go. But he couldn't find a single negative thing about the woman. Which wasn't really surprising considering the overall impression he had of her.

Shiozaki was kind, dutiful and just a generally good person to be around from what he could tell.

"And she's pretty damn cute, if I do say so myself!" The voice of Kaniko echoed in Midoriya's head as a slight bit of redness appeared on his face.

Okay, he guessed there was that too. The young man wasn't callus enough to deny that his temporary coworker/new neighbor wasn't an attractive woman. Quite the opposite actually. But those such thoughts were better left being held in the back of his mind.

After letting out a rather dramatic sigh, Midoriya put on his best "friendly" face and proceeded to enter the building. Ready to get this over with as soon as possible.

"Hello, Midoriya-san." Shiozaki greeted the man shortly after he entered the building. "Oh, forgive me. I believe that I'm supposed to call you "Inspector" when you're working."

"It's fine. You can call me whatever you're comfortable with." Midoriya waved off. "Thank you for agreeing to meet with me on such short notice."

"It's no trouble at all." She said with a kind smile.

After their brief exchange, the two young adults quickly made their way up to Shiozaki's office. Unlike most of the other young heroes that she knew the woman actually had her own work space for when she wasn't out and about. Although it wasn't anywhere near as big as Shinji's or Yu's, she was more than happy with having her own little corner of the building all to herself.

Upon entering, Midoriya took a moment to examine the assortment of decorations that lined the walls and shelves of the woman's office. For the most part there were a few flowers and other forms of plant life that he couldn't immediately recognize. But what certainly stood out to him were the giant cross hanging up on the back wall and the image of the "Virgin Mary" on the nearby shelf.

'Wow, I never pegged her for the religious type. It must be why she's so polite.' The man thought to himself. It wasn't his first time running into someone who was a follower of any type of religion. But people like that were hard to find, especially nowadays. Ever since quirks started coming about there was a steady drop in the number of people that identified themselves with any particular faith.

With no time to waste, the two sat down at the woman's desk to immediately begin discussing the details of their impending operation. Midoriya was on a bit of a time crunch today due to other obligations that his job required. And Shiozaki herself still had some forms that she needed to complete before heading back out on patrol.

"So what new information do you have for us, Inspector?"

"To keep things simple, I wanted to discuss our overall strategy for how we're going to bring down 'High Point'." He began. "Chief Inspector Kaniko and I have already sorted out most of the details. But I thought that it would be best to get you and the other heroes' input since you'll be joining us."

"Go on."

"Essentially, we would like for you all to serve in a more support capacity during this operation. Our intel says that there will be around thirty members present for the meeting. And it's unlikely that we will be able to avoid having a few people slip through our fingertips when we begin."

"That makes sense." The woman nodded.

The green haired man proceeded to place his black metal briefcase on top of the desk and pull out a stack of papers and pictures of the area that they were going to be raiding. The woman took a moment to look over the documents and realized that she was already somewhat familiar with the location. It was a rather large forest on the northern side of the prefecture next to a small lake. Shiozaki had actually been there a couple times when on vacation with her family in the past.

The two spent the next thirty minutes or so going over the plan and making sure that everything was in order. To her surprise, pretty much every detail of the operation had already been mapped out. So there was very little input that she needed to put in. Whomever devised this strategy must've been some kind of expert.

"I must say Inspector, I'm impressed at how well thought out everything is. Did you come up with the strategy yourself?"

"I did actually." Midoriya replied. "We typically don't have a lot of time to plan when it comes to things like these. But since we have over a week to iron the details, it's rather easy to get things organized."

"I take it that you participate in these "seize operations" frequently?" She then asked.

The green haired man was silent for a moment before piecing together his response. "Actually, these kinds of assignments aren't all that common. Despite what you may have heard, apprehension of heroes who participate in illegal activities are only a small part of our job. And their frequency is anything but consistent."

Shiozaki doesn't really know what possessed her to ask that question. Maybe it was just general curiosity. But she was glad to hear that there wasn't a constant strain of heroes who strayed from their righteous path to sew discord around the country. That little tidbit of information would certainly help her sleep more soundly at night.

"Well then, that's pretty much all I had for you. If you could be so kind as to rely this to Kamui Woods and Mt. Lady, I would greatly appreciate it."

"I will do that as soon as they get back." She smiled.

"Thank you."

Now that they were done with the official part of their meeting, Shiozaki wanted to take some time to engage in a bit of polite conversation with the man. She still had a couple of hours before she had to be back out on the street. And now was as good a time as any to get to know him a bit more. They were still neighbor's after all, so they would be seeing a lot more of each other after this operation. And Shinji told her to be as friendly and accommodating to him as possible. Which was understandable considering they were currently coworkers at the moment.

"If you don't mind me asking Inspector Midoriya, how long have you been working for the NPSC?" She asked.

"A little over three years." He told her.

"Really? You seem rather young to have worked with them for that long."

"Well, I got recruited right out of high school. That's pretty much the case for most of the younger Inspectors in the SIU's. The only exception in our team would be Chief Inspector Kaniko. It's kind of like how you heroes get your licenses after graduating."

"I see." The vine haired woman nodded. "You must be rather talented to have gained the attention of such a special organization."

"Not as talented as you heroes, though." Midoriya shot back before pointing to the large, blue and gold plaque on the opposite wall. "I mean, getting into the famous U.A. is a pretty big accomplishment on it's own."

"I appreciate the compliment, Inspector. But that's really nothing to brag about. U.A. may be a good school, but it was merely a stepping stone to achieving my goal of becoming a person who can attribute to the greater good of society." The woman instinctively clasped her hands together as a ray of light shined down upon her. A habit that she's had ever since she was a child.

'Yeah…humbleness and humility definitely fit her image. But I can't really agree with her. U.A. may pump out some of the more popular heroes in the country. But it's obvious that they just let anyone with a flashy and destructive quirk into the school. No matter how much of a tool they happen to be.' The man thought. 'And where is that light coming from?'

Just before Midoriya could come up with a suitable response to the woman's statement, the sound of a knock suddenly coming from the door drew the attention of the young heroine and the Inspector. And not even half a second later, the entrance to the office was opened. Revealing a woman with moss green hair sporting a royal blue bodysuit.

"Yo Ibara, you here? Yu said that you'd be in your offic- oh…hello there." The woman paused once she was fully past the door frame.

"Setsuna?" Shiozaki looked at the heroine known as "Lizardy" with a confused expression on her face.

"My bad, I didn't know that you were busy. Is this a bad time?"

"What are you doing here?"

"Me and Edgeshot came over to talk with Woods. Since I was already here I decided to pay you a visit, but I didn't know that you were having company." The green haired woman then faced Midoriya and extended her hand out towards him. "How's it going? I'm Lizardy, I don't think we've met before."

"Hello, I'm Inspector Izuku Midoriya." He said in a professional tone while returning the gesture.

"Midoriya? Oh…so you're the guy that's going to be working with my friend here. Funny, you don't look anything at all like I pictured." She said while looking the man up and down with a noticeable gleam in her eye.

"Setsuna!" Shiozaki scolded her questionable choice of a friend before bowing towards her guest. "Please forgive her, Inspector. Lizardy here has a habit of being a bit too casual with people."

"It's no trouble at all. I never expected that I would get a chance to meet one of the rising stars of the hero world. It's a pleasure to meet you." Midoriya then bowed.

"Wow, good looking and nice manners. I can see why Ibara was so excited to live next to you!"

"Wha-" Shiozaki's face immediately reddened upon hearing those words.

"Please, you're too kind. But I appreciate the compliment." The Inspector, who seemed totally unfazed by the 'lizard tail splitter' user's words, replied with a kind smile.

"I like this guy, you should definitely invite him out to drinks sometime." Tokage continued.

"I'll have to respectfully decline that offer, ma'am. I try not to mix my personal and professional lives together if I can help it. Also, I don't drink alcohol."

"Aw shoot!" The woman snapped her fingers.

"Anyways…." Shiozaki interjected before this situation could get anymore out of control. "Inspector Midoriya was just leaving. And it would be rude of us to hold him up. I apologize once again for my friend's rude behavior."

"No need to trouble yourself over it, Vine. I actually find your friend's personality rather charming."

"Keep talking like that and I might have to ask you out on a date. On a completely unrelated note, are you free this Friday?"

All Midoriya did was casually dodge the question by giving a bit of a forced laugh before giving one final bow to Shiozaki and making his swift exit. Leaving the two young heroines alone in the office.

"So…what are you really doing here?" Shiozaki sent her long time friend a disapproving glare.

"Yu told me that you were having a meeting with the guy you told us about yesterday. And I just had to see what he was all about." Tokage replied with a toothy grin. "Why didn't you tell us that he was so damn cute?"

"Because I knew you'd try to pull something like this." She answered. Shiozaki wasn't childish enough to deny that Inspector Midoriya was an objectively good looking man. Anyone with a pair of eyes could've told you that. But the last thing she needed was her friends trying to make a mess of both her personal and professional lives at the same time. Besides, it wasn't a good idea to think of someone that you were working with in that manner. And Ibara Shiozaki was far above having such…sinful thoughts about someone that hardly even knew.

"Still though, that guy gives off a pretty weird vibe doesn't he? Like there's this kind of energy about him that I just couldn't put my finger on. What's his quirk, maybe it has something to do with that?"

"I actually don't know. It never came up."

That was weird. Tokage pretty much voiced exactly what the vine haired woman was thinking when she first met the man. Midoriya may have been as "clean cut" as you expect from someone in his line of work. But there was just something about him that Shiozaki couldn't really put into words.

"Oh well…I guess I'll have to ask him the next time I see him." Tokage shrugged. "Y'know Ibara, the two of you would make a pretty good couple. And you'd definitely have some cute kids together. Then again, I might need to take him off your hands if you're not up to it."

A now red-faced Shiozaki pointed one of her vines towards the Tokage's face before the woman put her hands up defensively. Albeit with a very noticeable smirk on her face. The last thing the vine haired heroine wanted to hear was any talk about children. Especially with someone that she didn't know. Granted, it wasn't like she didn't want that kind of thing in the future. But it was way too early to be thinking about that kind of thing.

'Wait, what am I thinking?' The woman shook her head to expel those kinds of inappropriate thoughts.

With the unnecessary jokes finally out of the way, the two heroines decided to make their way over to Shinji's office to talk to the wooden hero about their patrol plan for the rest of the day. It had been a while since Shiozaki and Tokage had partnered up. So hopefully they would be able to get through the rest of the afternoon without any further shenanigans happening.

~Later That Day~

A few hours later on the other side of prefecture, a short man dressed in a white and purple costume was perched atop the roof of a building overlooking a bustling city street. Normally when one would see an on-duty hero in this kind of situation they would just assume that he was keeping a vigilant watch over the civilians. But this wasn't the case for the man known as "Grape Juice". Instead of watching out for villains and other forms of evildoers, he was spending this short respite from his heroic duties to ogle at some of the local women coming in and out of the nearby shopping center. All with a pair of military-grade binoculars glued to his lustful eyes.

"Oh yeah, this might be my new favorite spot." The diminutive man laughed with a slight bit of drool coming from his mouth.

*Cough!*

"Huh?!" The hero jumped at the expected sound behind him. Upon redirecting his attention from the view down below, he found himself looking at a tall man dressed in a black overcoat with a pair of black pants and matching shoes. "Who are you?"

"Excuse me sir, but are you Minrou Mineta? More commonly known as the pro hero, Grape Juice." The mystery individual asked.

"Who's asking?"

The unidentified man with the green hair sized the hero up for a moment before fishing his wallet out of his coat pocket and showing him his badge. "I'm Inspector Izuku Midoriya of NPSC's Special Investigations Unit Nine."

"NPSC?" Grape Juice quirked an eyebrow. 'Wait a second, I think Ejiro told me about these once.'

"Yes, do you mind if I ask you a couple of questions? It won't take long, and I can see that you're…busy." The Inspector then looked down at the pair of binoculars that the grape-themed hero was still holding.

"I'm kinda on the clock here. Is it important? What does the NPSC want with me anyway?"

"Sir, I believe you already know the answer to that question…."

"W-what do you mean?" Grape Juice said a bit nervously.

"Over the last six months or so, there have been a number of reports about a certain hero who has taken the liberty of goofing off during his work time to spy on women across the city. On top of that, there have been quite a few claims against him about inappropriate sexual behavior and statements towards fellow heroes, local police officers and civilians."

"Really? That guy sounds like a total jerk. Hahaha….."

"Sir…let's just skip the witty banter and get right down to business." Midoriya's gaze was now cold and somewhat frightening. "I've been following you around all afternoon and I would much rather spend my time doing something more productive."

"I d-d-don't know what you're talking about."

"Just come quietly and I won't have to resort to using force. You can explain yourself to the head of HPSC and whoever else has the fate of your judgement in their hands."

It was at this moment that Grape Juice knew his goose was cooked. This wasn't good at all. He had heard about the NSPC's special teams from Kirishima a while back. But he definitely wasn't expecting one of these infamous "Hero Hunters" to come after him.

So what if spent a little bit of downtime checking out girls? It wasn't like he was hurting anybody. And those claims about "inappropriate sexual behavior and statements'' was complete bullshit. He may have said a few things here and there, but nothing that warranted any action against him.

The smart thing for him to do would've been to just stay quiet and explain himself later on. But the rumors about how "Hero Hunters" treated their targets made his heart rate go up and his mind instantly got foggy. So in a desperate attempt to keep himself from being taken in by this guy, the short hero thought that it would be a good idea to try and bargain with the man.

"Hey man, why don't we just forget that we ever saw each other? What do ya' say, huh? How about I float you a couple of bucks and you just let me leave? Obviously this is some sort of a misunderstanding. You can just let me go and I promise that I'll sort this whole thing out with the HSPC. Actually, I have my wallet on me right now!" Grape Juice said in a shaky voice as he reached into his belt to see how much money he had on him.

After procuring the item and searching through it, he quickly looked back up towards the Inspector. But something wasn't right. The green haired man wasn't there anymore. 'What the hell, where did he go?!' The grape-themed hero looked around to see what had become of the person he was just talking to. However the Inspector was nowhere in sight. Something was wrong, the guy was just standing in front of him a second ago. There's no way he could've disappeared that easily without him noticing.

"Sorry, but I don't take bribes. Especially from clowns like you." A cold voice suddenly said from right behind the grape-themed hero. Against his better judgement, Grape Juice turned his head to see the Inspector towering over him with a look of pure and utter disgust in his eyes. "How did you-ack!"

The last thing Grape Juice felt before blacking out was a forceful strike to the base of his neck followed by the cold sensation of concrete on his face.

"Well…that wasn't nearly as difficult as I expected. For a hero, I thought he'd be a bit harder to take down." Midoriya stated calmly. Grape Juice may have been a walking sleezeball, but even he had to admit that his combat abilities were something to be wary of. But apparently his awareness wasn't all that great. 'I can't really hold it against him though. Most people aren't prepared for what I can do anyway.'

He then took a moment to place a pair of quirk-inhibiting handcuffs on the man's wrists before grabbing his phone out of his pocket.

"Hey Kaniko-senpai, I just secured the package. I'll be done in about an hour after I drop him off."

"Glad to hear it! Good job Izu-chan, dinner's on me tonight! I'll treat you to some of that katsudon that you love so much!" Kaniko said in a cheery tone on the other side of the line.

"I'll be looking forward to it!" Was all he said before hanging up. He then gazed back down at the unconscious hero and let out an irritated sigh. 'I guess U.A. isn't all it's cracked up to be if they let a guy like this get a hero license. Then again, I guess I shouldn't be surprised considering who else went to that school.'

With this minor inconvenience finally out of the way, Midoriya wrangled up his quarry and proceeded to make his way down to his car. It was a rare case whenever a seize operation went so smoothly. But he wasn't about to take that for granted anytime soon. And since he was done much earlier than he expected, all there was left to do was just fill out the necessary paperwork and wrap it up for the day. Even more so now that Kaniko was going to be treating him to his favorite dish after work.

'All in a day's work I suppose.'

A/N: Three chapters in three days? Is it easy to tell that I'm having fun setting up this story? I know the last couple of chapters haven't been in all that much in terms of story progression, but I just want to make sure that I have everything in place before things start getting interesting. I am working with two relatively "awkward" characters and this is going to be a slow burn after all.

1. The latter half of this chapter was to give you guys a hint as to what Midoriya's quirk is going to be. I'm pretty sure that I just gave up a big clue as to what it is. But if you can figure it from that brief exchange, good for you. I won't officially clarify what it is until the Raid in a couple of chapters.

2. Next update will probably be sometime this weekend. And it will just be some more exposition and interactions between Midoriya and Shiozaki to keep them interacting and getting to know each other some more.

Like always, thanks for reading and don't be afraid to leave a comment/review.
