Edfu or Behedet is an Egyptian city located between Esna and Aswan on the western side of the Nile. Edfu is where the great Ptolemaic Temple of Edfu of Horus is located. Today the town is called Tell Edfu and contains ancient buildings and contemporary Egyptian houses.
In a large five-star hotel in this city, Rael observed the area calmly.
"Are you sure this is it?" Campione asked the person accompanying him.
"Yes, Your Majesty."
Behind Rael was the beautiful princess of Egypt, Nefertari.
Their relationship began a little over a week ago when she became Rael's assistant. Campione could tell that the young woman had helped him greatly, even if he didn't like it at first.
She was skillful. No matter what Rael wanted, be it a place to stay, a trip, or even an artifact, she could get it within a few hours.
She was a High Priestess, the highest in Egypt, and often went to ancient temples to pray to the Gods.
Rael could not understand such a thing. Perhaps because he was a Campione, he had no belief in the Gods.
But he could not deny that this woman had benefited him during this week.
She was a Hime-Miko, a descendant of a former Earth Goddess who possessed many powers.
As far as Rael knew, each Hime-Miko had her talents and innate abilities. Still, Nefertari was an exception having every possible ability for a Hime-Miko.
She possessed the [Spiritual Vision] Grants knowledge of the Memories of the Void. This allows understanding of the past, and possessors can use this knowledge to make subconscious predictions of the future.
She also possessed rare abilities such as [Purification of Disaster], which allowed her to cancel and negate magical effects and powers and even affect Authorities to a certain extent. She could also use [Divine Possession], which allowed her to channel the power of a God through her body.
She also had the characteristics of a Witch, allowing her to use dozens of spells, even offensively.
This brought interest to Rael, as such talented personnel had never been mentioned in the original story.
According to Asenate, Nefertari had powers on par with the White Princess and the Witch of Sardinia, the two greatest magic users in the world.
How come the woman who was equal to the Highest Ranking Witch of Heaven and the Highest Ranking Witch of Earth had never been mentioned?
Maybe she existed in Cannon but didn't play a major role, or something had happened to her...
"If I remember correctly, her parents are dead." Rael mentally pondered.
Rael was unashamed to say that he looked into Nefertari. Due to being born with immense talent, she was treated like royalty. She was served on foot and hand, dressed in the most beautiful gowns, and given the best education.
This lasted until her parents one day died mysteriously. Even with his investigation, Rael found no clue to the death of Nefertari's parents.
It was as if one day they vanished from existence.
She was left to be raised by her grandfather, a high priest who began to teach her more strictly.
Rael cannot help but find all this extraordinary, everything that surrounded her and her family.
The young woman wore modern clothes that enhanced her beauty to the point where she could make even the most significant models cry with envy.
Rael broke the silence, "One thing I have wondered about is how the [Eye of Ra] deals with other times that the Heretic Gods have manifested here. Being the land of the great Egyptian empire of old, I would feel that the Heretic Gods would manifest more regularly here."
"The old stories indeed serve as a catalyst, and, like Greece, we are steeped in ancient mythology. Although we have been fortunate that very few gods have manifested in recent centuries." Nefertari replied calmly to the [King].
"But I have no doubt, Majesty, the Heretic God Horus is found in this city. Here is the home of the Great Temple dedicated to the God of Heaven and the place where he was located."
The young woman explained to Rael with a smile on her face.
The Temple of Edfu, dedicated to the God Horus, built by Cleopatra's father, was surely a place where the God of Heaven would seek shelter.
Rael, who heard everything with his eyes closed, finally opened them, his obsidian-black eyes focused on a specific spot.
"Indeed, I can smell a God in this place."
Rael had a smile on his face.
"But despite that, for a renowned tourist spot, there are very few people in that place."
Rael said as he observed the area.
"After learning that Horus is in this city, our organization asked the government of Egypt to ban tourism in this region, and we dispatched those who were here beforehand."
"We convinced more than a hundred thousand people living here to leave the region with the excuse of natural disasters. As for the remaining people, they are not willing to leave.
Since the [Eye of Ra] organization was owned by Egypt, they cared about the country's stability.
One could say that all the magical organizations in the world faced the natural disasters that were the [Heretic Gods] with the vigilance of one hundred and one percent.
"I see. Since a temple dedicated to him is here, it makes sense for that Hawk God to be hidden here."
In response to Rael's cold speech, Nefertari felt the tension in her shoulders ease.
For the past few days, she had been in a tense state while working alongside Rael for fear that a trace of negligence or a mistake would make the [King] angry.
But after a few days of contact with the [King], she discovered that he was not that cruel.
No, the [King] is a free-spirited and temperamental Godslayer, a ruthless recluse. Still, he had a distinction between public and private.
The [King], in particular, has a very calm personality. As long as you don't touch his bottom line, he won't get angry, but still, he is worthy of being called [King].
In front of public affairs, he will seem like someone cold. He can even be cruel, showing his title as a Demon King, a Supreme Ruler.
After understanding Rael's personality, Nefertari is confident she can handle the [King].
In particular, if she does not go beyond her identity and maintains basic etiquette, the [King] will remain calm.
Although he is moody, he will not inflict his cruelty on innocent people.
"[King], Horus is..."
"You don't even have to say it, Nefertari! My blood is already boiling, and my brain is already urging me on, like a wild beast smelling the blood of his rush. For Campione's full of a Heretic God is powerful!"
Obsidian eyes narrowed toward the great temple.
Horus was there!
"Wait for me, Hawk King. I will entertain you soon!"
