Hey guys, what's up? Norisu Ninja here! Only this time; I'm back with a new story in store for you guys. Now first I would like to explain that I first got inspired to write this story when I saw an image on deviantart made by edCOM02, so if you're reading this, sir. I like to say I really love your artwork and hope to make your story a thing. So hopefully you won't mind me writing one. So yeah, I'm honestly a huge fan of the My Hero Academia manga and anime as I always keep track of the upcoming chapters of the manga. I also watched the two movies and am looking forward to seeing the upcoming World Heroes Mission film coming this August. As for the story itself, it looks pretty cool and I was rather surprised it took a darker turn after the war arc but in a good and badass way. So I watched this video made by Vocal Pineapple Academia about how some of the villains from the Marvel universe might fit in the world of MHA; it's when he reached the topic of how Ultron can interact within the world of My Hero Academia that I got interested, so much that it had me considering to write my own MHA/Marvel crossover. It intrigued me how the heroes of MHA will be able to handle a villain like Ultron and so I looked up to see if anyone has made any fanfics about it. Surprisingly, no one did; so I looked over at deviantart and was rather amazed when I came across ideas for a story that was being made and after some decent thinking, I decided that this was too good for it to be left forgotten. So it was then I decided to make my own fanfic about it. Also I like to warn people that this is the first time that I'm making an anime fanfic so it might not be perfect; no haters please.
Also this story will be taking place somewhere after the Joint Training Arc.
[Side Note: My Author profile has been updated. So if you want to know the next episode names of the first season of Rachelle Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja then go ahead and check it out.]
Also My Hero Academia is created and owned by Kohei Horikoshi and most of the other characters are owned by Marvel comics. I own nothing at all.
So without any further ado, let's get right to it, shall we?
Flashback:
Several Years Ago
It was a calm and peaceful day in the streets of New York City, as civilians carried on with their business all while the seagulls cried a pleasant sound as they soar through the sky.
*BOOOOM!*
Until an explosion could be heard as many people watched in shock and horror at the sight of the top of the skyscraper that just exploded as they pointed and shouted in confusion and terror.
Just then, a slender male figure jumped out of the now destroyed half of the building and flew away across the air through his jetpack. The man in person was wearing a yellow bodysuit with black boots and gloves as well as a black mask over his eyes. His jetpack also has four tentacle-like stingers protruding from it.
The villain in question had a grin of malicious intent as gazed at the briefcase that was in his left hand that contained a valuable support item that will help him in his cause.
"Look out! It's a villain!" someone from the huge crowd cried out pointing at the flying man from above them as they watched with gaping mouths at the sight.
"At long last," the yellow clad-individual cheered with glee. "With this valuable tech from Pym Industries. It'll help make my Quirk: 'Stinger', more powerful and deadly to use." he pointed out with a sly smile. "Another lucky score for the Yellow Jacket." he smirked.
"Stop right there, Darren!" a voice yelled.
Darren Cross, otherwise known as the villain; 'Yellow Jacket' blinked as he turned around seeing two individuals also in midair heading towards him.
The first one was a man wearing a red and black jumpsuit followed by black boots and black gloves along with a silver helmet with antenna ant-like horns, especially a visor that covered the top half of his face. The second one was a woman that wore a long sleeve shirt over a scarlet vest that included a scarlet skirt, a white belt containing some tools, black leggings, red boots and red gloves as well as a black belt that had a large gun like device on it's right side.
The two of them can be seen surfing through the air, chasing after the villain by surfing on hundreds of flying ants acting as a large hoverboard for the two.
"Antman and the Wasp," Yellow Jacket sneered at the arrival of the famous duo of Pro Heroes and his most hateful enemies.
Doctor Henry "Hank" Pym is a Pro Hero as well as a top scientist and owner of Pym Enterprises, a famous company well known for building some of the most high-tech support items that America and the world have ever seen. He's also a member of America's fine team of Pro Heroes, the Avengers, who swore to protect the innocent.
Then there is Janet Van Dyne the wife of Hank Pym who is also a member of the avengers, better known by her hero name, the Wasp. She is a cheerful and chirpy individual with a strong sense of justice who always fights for what's right.
"Fancy meeting you two here. To what may I hold the pleasure?" the villain replied, mockingly.
"You know damn well what we're here for, Yellow Jacket." Antman told him in a serious tone. "That brief case you're carrying just so happens to contain an important support item that the scientists visiting from I-Island have deemed unsafe for usage." the ant themed hero explained.
"All the more reason to use it, don't you think?" Darren smiled, sinisterly. "What others deem unsafe to use are things that can bring greater results. They're just too afraid to grasp the concept and the endless possibilities that it can bring."
Hank shook his head. "It's not about being afraid, Cross. It's also regarding the safety of others and its wearer as well." he explained. "Don't you get it? It's too dangerous to use freely."
"So if you had it over, we might be gentle when we arrest you." Wasp quipped with a smile.
The villain in yellow however simply chuckled. "Yeah right, I believe we know that's never going to happen! With this support item, I'll be able to pull off heists that no criminal is capable of!" he gloated.
The ant themed hero sighed at his inability to get through to Yellow Jacket. "Well then that's precisely why we intend to stop you." Antman replied before gesturing to his ants. "Alright, you little guys. How about you show this punk what you're all made of." he suggested.
[Name: Hank Pym. Hero name: Antman. Quirk: Ant Voice. He can communicate with ants and give them commands for them to follow. This is also amplified further with his support item, Ant Helmet, which amplifies the range of his voice.]
The small swarm of ants then headed towards and circled around the Yellow Jacket themed villain, attempting to restrain him
"Yeah right," Yellow Jacket smirked as his hand reached for his belt and pulled out his revolver-like-weapon and blasted away the ants with a blast of electricity that electrocuted all the ants causing them to collapse dead on the road down below.
"NO!" Antman cried in shocks at the demise of his beloved ants.
"Like hell I let something pitiful like that hold me." the villain snarked.
"Janet." Ant-man then motioned to his wife who gave a nod.
"Right, Hank." The heroine answered before jumping from the hoverboard of ants and she began to grow smaller until she was the size of an insect and grew wasp wings on her back and flew towards the villain at high speeds.
[Name: Janet Van Dyne. Hero Name: The Wasp. Quirk: Wasp. She can shrink herself down to the size of a small bug while also gaining wasp wings to process.]
The now shrunken Wasp flew quickly over to Yellow Jacket as he prepared to take aim with his Electro Blaster once again.
"Go to Hell." he muttered as he pulled the trigger and fired various electric blasts at the small heroine, though this was proven to be quite difficult as the small Wasp proved to be a hard target.
"Nice try, sweetie." Wasp snickered with a smile before heading for the hole of the device. "You've been quite the naugthy boy, I believe that it's time that toy of yours to be confiscated." she said.
Without wasting time, she took out a small grenade-like device from her belt and threw it into the opening of the blaster, causing the weapon to short circuit and explode before Yellow Jacket threw it away and Wasp flew away to a safe distance back to Antman.
"Damn it." Yellow Jacket cursed as he glared at the Pro Hero couple who in turn returned the glare.
This fight so far has proven to be nothing but a waste of his time; by now he could've gone back and returned into hiding, but that plan had jumped out the window the second these so-called heroes showed up.
He always hated heroes, most particularly his arch-nemesis, Antman. Always showing up out of nowhere just when he got his hands on what he wanted. It really infuriated him to no end.
No matter, he smirked. With the latest toy he's now got, he can finally put an end to his foes.
"What a shame." Yellow Jacket thought. "I was kinda hoping that I could test this out later so that I can hopefully add some modifications for better usage. Well, no time better than the present."
"It seems like you both leave me no choice." Yellow Jacket said in a tone of mockery. "Seems like I'll have to use this, afterall."
It took just a moment for Hank to realize what Darren was going with causing his eyes to widen in horror. "Cross, no! Don't! It's too Dangerous! There are still too many innocent people in the area!" he warned.
"Oh let the so-called innocent go to hell." the villain responded, callously as he opened the briefcase he was holding and took out what appeared to be a helmet device while he let go of the briefcase, leaving it to fall down to the road. "What so-called professionals call dangerous; I call cowardice. You see, Ant-man; you and those are too afraid to grasp the unimaginable possibilities with this tech and the daring new vision that they bring." Darren sneered. "But I don't. Allow me to demonstrate."
With a sinister smirk, Cross puts the helmet on and with a click of a switch activates it.
What happened next caused everybody in the crowd to widen their eyes in fear and terror at the sight they saw. Right before their very eyes, the villain in yellow and black began to grow in freak'in size! He kept growing until he was as tall and large as one of the many buildings in the area.
"The Gigantification Helmet," Darren mused, his voice now booming through the ears of everybody at time square as he looked down at his arch-enemy and his love. "A support item capable of creating and replicating the effects of a Gigantification Quirk, a valuable tool indeed capable of wonders; and what do you do with it? You waste it by locking away in some far off factory; never to be used again." he spat in disgust. "Well I, on the other hand, have no intention of wasting it."
"Darren, stop this right fucking now!" Antman yelled, his tone now firm. "I told you that the support item has been deemed unsafe to use. It may have some unhealthy side effects on you! Stop this right now before someone gets hurt!"
Yellow Jacket chuckled, darkly. "The innocent could go to hell for all I care. Now how about we test this little tool to see if it also enhances the wearer's Quirk, shall we?" he said as the stingers on his back revealed their piercing joints where beginnings were crackling with yellow energy before firing a yellow blast of energy that Antman and Wasp narrowly dodged, but the danger wasn't over yet as Hank saw to his horror that about the civilians.
[Name: Darren Cross. Villain name: Yellow Jacket. Quirk: Stinger. A mutant type that has four pincer appendages appears on his back. They can pierce through stone and after some body modifications they can now fire beams of energy and fire mini-missiles.]
"Anthone! Anthony! Get a hold of all your friends and get those civilians to safety now!" Hank ordered immediately and without wasting even a second, the ants the Pro Hero addressed to, rounded up all the ants to get the civilians out of the way by carrying them with their strength and wings in blinding speeds before the beams could hit them. Although there were no casualties in the area, most of the road got destroyed in the process.
"No one got caught in the crossfire, Hank." Wasp informed him in a tone of relief as she observed the ants flew the civilians to a safe area before putting them down.
Hank nodded in relief when he saw that before turning to face Darren, glaring at the villain behind his helmet. "You have gone too far, Yellow Jacket! Stop this right now before someone gets hurt!" he yelled.
Yellow Jacket however simply chuckled at the ant themed hero. "You're right about that, Antman. Someone's really gonna get here. And it's going to be… them." he proclaimed before aiming his pincers down on the road where the crowd of citizens fired mini-missiles at them.
"NOOOOOO!" Hank yelled in horror while Wasp's eyes widen in horror as they could only watch as the missiles were headed towards them while the citizens pointed and stared in horror at the danger that was heading straight for them, causing some of them to back off and run away to try get out of the missiles line of fire while others closed their eyes, ready to accept their fate.
All seems lost until…
"SMASH!"
Just then, three waves of wind appeared through like living whips that upon hitting the missiles caused them to explode to dust before they could hit their intended target. Much to the shock of Yellow Jacket, Antman and the Wasp.
"What?!" Darren snarled in disbelief.
The citizens opened their eyes when they noticed the missiles didn't hit them. Instead, they were rather shocked when they noticed a tall, muscular man wearing silver boots that reached to his knees, a dark blue suit with a white red stripe pattern on both the right and left side, white handless gauntlets followed by a light blue cape.
"Fear not, citizens. Everything is going to be okay." the figure declared in a heroic tone before turning around to face them with a reassuring smile. "Because I'm here."
The man's smile and reassuring tone caused the citizens to smile as they almost immediately became reassured, believing that everything's going to be okay.
Just then, a man in a mechanical suit of red and gold armor with glowing blue eyes flew in and hovered right next to the muscular pro hero.
"You know you really have a habit of always making aflashy entrance, All Might." the man in armor quipped with his hands folded.
"Look who's talking," a voice said as a black hover car descended down and a woman wearing a black spy bodysuit followed by a golden belt and golden gauntlets jumped out. "Coming from a billionaire who tends to swoop in a suit of shining armor. That's rich coming from you."
"Oh, you wound me, Natasha." The man in armor chuckled.
[Name: Natasha Romanova. Hero name: Black Widow. Quirk: Enhancement. Her body gains a boost in physical attributes while also developing a resistance to poisons, illness and increased slow aging.]
"Though to repeat Tony's statement," Natasha said, before turning to the muscular man. "You really tend to run off on your own, Toshinori."
Toshinori Yagi AKA All Might laughed heartily. "Apologies, Natasha. But you know that's just how I am. Wherever there's trouble I always rush to the scene in the flash."
[Name: Toshinori Yagi. Hero Name: All Might. Quirk: One For All. A special Quirk that stockpiles power from being passed down from generation to generation that increases all physical attributes to a great degree.]
Widow simply rolled her eyes with a small amused smile. "Of course."
Meanwhile, Hank watched all this unfold with wide eyes before turning to Wasp who shrugged, sheepishly.
"I send a distress signal back to Avengers tower." she answered, sheepishly. "Needless to say it got answered and since the Hulk is busy in Africa and I heard All Might's in town; I figured why the hell not."
Hank said nothing for a moment before chuckling with an amused smile. "Sure, sounds good." he said before facing the giant Yellow Jacket who still stood in disbelief. "Maybe Toshinori and I could catch up on old times once when we send giant yellow ego here to jail."
Upon hearing that, Yellow Jacket turned to glare at the ant themed hero and the Wasp. "Laugh it up, Antman." Darren snarled at the Pro Hero couple before aiming his pincer blasters at them. "Let's see you laughing once I've blasted you all to oblivion!"
As he prepared to fire though he felt a burning pain behind his back causing him to grunt in pain. He turned to see the man clad in armor firing lasers at him from the repulsors in his palms.
"Glad to see I got your attention, Yellow meathead." the man in shining armor quipped.
"Well, if it isn't, Iron man?" Yellow Jacket sneered in annoyance of the intrusion of the iron clad hero.
[Full name: Tony Stark. Hero Name: Iron man. Quirk: Kinetic Charge. His Quirk allows his heart beat to produce and store Kinetic Energy in his heart. Through his own genius, he created his own company: Stark Industries, a company that makes one of the best high tech Support Items and through this he created the Arc Reactor. A device that fits on his chest and not only harnesses the Kinetic energy produced by his heart but amplifies it as well. By creating the Iron man suit; a suit that's beyond its time, it uses the Arc Reactor in Tony's chest as a power source, giving his suit the energy to harness its built in weapons such as lasers, missiles, etc.]
"In the flesh, or armor you can say." Iron man joked. "Hey buddy, if you haven't noticed, you seem to be scaring people around you. Probably because of that ugly face of yours. It seems to have become even worse after you used the Gigantification Helmet so people are now getting a perfect look of it. So how about you hand it over and turn yourself into the authorities, kay buddy?" Tonyjoked as he began charging his repulsors once again.
"How about… NEVER!" Cross yelled as he fired several laser blasts with the intensity to burn steel at the ironclad hero who immediately dodged out of the way thanks to his high speed jet flight. The armored hero then circled around the gigantified villain while firing some mini-missiles at each angle.
This however, only caused some mild annoyance to the yellow themed villain as he tried to swat his hand against the flying Iron man but the armored hero was too fast for his hand to react.
Finally, after two and a half minutes he managed to tag the Pro Hero with his hand, sending him flying to the side of a building, creating a small crater on it in the process.
"Ugh, Lucky shot, punk." Tony grunted in pain as he attempted to lift himself back up only to be grabbed by a massive hand of Yellow Jacket and being brought face to face with the villain.
Tony had a look of disgust behind his armor's faceplate. "Ugh, something ugly just blocked the view of the sun. Oh wait, that's just your face, my bad. Still ugly, though." he joked, causing Cross to grit his teeth as he raised his free arm, ready to crush this so-called Pro.
Just then, however, he began experiencing some slight irritation on his chest prompting him to look down and see Black Widow firing shots at him with her Gold Gauntlets known as Widow's Kiss. Next to her, he could see the Wasp watching in anticipation with Antman nowhere in sight to be seen.
Darren scowled as he lifted his foot, in an effort to squash the trio of Pro Heroes.
"Now, All Might!" Natasha yelled while keeping her eyes focused on the giant villain.
"Huh?" Yellow Jacket halted in his attempted stomp assault before noticing where All Might was, now standing atop a building with his hands on his hips, still not losing his smile.
With a 'huff', All Might jumped high in the air to the point where he was above the giant villain until he crossed his arms in an X-shaped formation before dashing down Yellow Jacket's direction.
Yellow Jacket simply scoffed before aiming his pincers at the smiling Pro Hero and fired a barrage of heat seeking missiles at All Might.
Toshinori wasn't fazed by this in the least, however. As it then waved his arms out of the X formation he had and unleashed gusts of wind that upon contact, forced the missiles to explode as All Might dashed through the explosion of the cloud, still wearing his confident smile.
Darren gritted his teeth in frustration as he charged the lasers of his pincers to their maximum capacity, ready to blast this so-called hero into oblivion.
But before he could even do it, all four pincers were then destroyed by a few laser blasts.
"THE HELL?!" Darren yelled in shock and confusion before turning to see Iron man, the one responsible for that particular action.
"Miss me?" Tony chuckled with a small wave.
Cross could only gape in shock at what just happened but still noticed the hero from Japan heading straight towards him at dashing speeds and instead decided to ready his fist and punch the Pro Hero with his gigantified arm.
All Might, however, still unfazed, raised his own fist and got ready to strike down the villain. As he got in close…
"DETROIT… SMASH!" All Might yelled as threw down his fist, the force of which caused him to rocket straight down and punch the gigantified Yellow Jacket in the chest before he could even react. The resulting punch caused the villain to cough saliva as his eyes went behind his head as he got knocked out. As he lost consciousness, Hank finally returned with his made up surfboard of ants before commanding a large army of ants to remove the helmet wearing support item from Cross's head. Hank actually went back to gather more ants for help and decided for them to help him in removing the Gigantification Helmet to prevent any further collateral damage to be done.
Once the villain known as Yellow Jacket has finally shrunken back to his original size he began to slowly fall down to the ground until Iron man swooped and managed to catch him in time.
"Nice of you to show up when we need you, Antman." Tony tells him as his feet touched the ground, now placing the knocked out Darren Cross over his shoulder.
"Anytime, Tony." Hank chuckled as he folded his hands with a satisfied smile at their victory.
"It sure has been a long time, old friend." a voice spoke up causing Hank to turn to see All Might walking towards him. The scientist and owner of Pym Industries smiled upon seeing it was his longtime friend.
"Hey Toshinori, it sure has been awhile, all right." Hank said as some of the ants from before flew towards him with the Gigantification Helmet and handed the support item over to him.
"It's good that you, Iron man and Widow showed up as you did." Hank said before his face took on a sombre look.
All Might noticed this and raised a brow in confusion. "What's wrong?"
"I build and develop these high tech support items so that they can help Pro Heroes to better perform hero work. I can't imagine any support item that I and my company built would be used for evil."
"Don't worry yourself about it, Hank." Toshinori said with a smile as he placed a hand on his friend's shoulder, prompting the american Pro Hero to look at All Might in confusion.
"I'm not exactly an expert on building support items, but I do know that it's not the tech that matters, it's always the human factor that makes a person a hero. Always be sure that your support items are handed to the right people, Hank. It's not the support item but the people that use them wisely and for the greater good. That's what makes them true heroes." he noted, sagely.
Hank blinked behind his Ant Helmet before nodding with a small smile. "I'll keep that in mind, Toshinori." he said.
"You boys done chatting over there." Janet caught up to the two of them along with Black Widow and Iron man.
"In case you've forgotten we got to hand this asshole to the authorities." Natasha pointed her thumb to the unconscious Darren Cross who's slung on Iron man's shoulder.
The armored hero's faceplate then opened, revealing the face of a man in his mid-thirties with a black mustache and goatee. "I already contacted my collateral bots to clean up the mess, ol' yellow here did." he said in his normal voice. "They should be arriving anytime now."
Just then, they hear the sound of cheers and praise as they all turn to see a crowd of people cheering them for keeping them safe by stopping the violent villain's rampage.
"They saved us!"
"You guys are so awesome!"
"Thank you!"
"You really are the best!"
The praise kept on coming as more and more people continued to join and praised the heroes for their efforts in ensuring their safety and saving them from the villain.
"Ah yes, now this is the sort of thing I could always get used to." Tony said with a small chuckle causing Natasha to roll her eyes while Janet waved to the crowd with a cheerful smile.
"Hey," Hank said as he turned to face All Might. "What say you and I share a cup of coffee once we get taken care of this; catch up on old times?" he asked.
The Symbol of Peace laughs as he smiles. "Sure, anything for an old friend." he said.
And with that, the two of them shared a friendly fistbump as they continued to get showered by the praise and thanks of the many people and fans that admired the heroes for their bravery.
End of Flashback:
The Present
All Might let out a tired sigh as he gazed sadly at the photo that he had in his phone. It was a picture of him in his hero costume back in his younger days, along with his old friends, Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne; both of them who were also in their Pro hero costumes except without their masks, smiling.
It was currently afternoon as the sun slowly began to set and the sky began to show strings of yellow and orange as a sign that it was beginning to become dark very soon. Another school day at U.A. had been completed as the students of the Hero course, General studies and the Support course had finished their classes for the day; some of them had left to go back to their dorms to rest up while few decided to stay back to take care of some unfinished business.
Toshinori took a deep breath and exhaled before placing the phone back in the pocket of his pants. He was currently wearing his suit used for teaching which consisted of a yellow tuxedo with black stripes along with a white shirt and blue tie underneath, as well as yellow pants and brown shoes. He was currently in his personal office waiting for a certain young boy to come.
The Symbol of Peace was also no longer in his muscular form that he had on for many years and was now reduced to a malnourished looking skeleton. The main reason for this was due to a severe injury he received from a fight against a powerful villain; and although he was victorious in the end. The injury cost him as he was now reduced to using only three hours of his strength to perform hero work. Very few people knew about this; as a result, very few know of the epic battle that occurred between All Might and that powerful villain all those years ago. So many battles he fought, so many lives he saved and yet one severe injury was all it took to sap half of his strength to use his Quirk: One For All.
One For All. A Quirk that was very different and more powerful than any other Quirk that existed in the world, so powerful that very few Quirks that were out there could rival it's raw power and even then there seems to be nothing that can freak'in surpass it.
Through his many connections, All Might was able to keep his condition a secret from the world. Toshinori believed that the Symbol of Peace should always be smiling so that civilians will be assured that everything was okay and if they ever found out that their powerful protector was beginning to lose his strength then society would've been thrown into a state of panic.
So disregarding the protests of his closest friends and allies; he went on continuing to do what he always does: save people no matter what, fighting villains, helping the needy; all the things that a genuine hero would do. Back when he was younger, Toshinori Yagi always dreamed of becoming a hero, a symbol; someone that the people of the world could rely on, despite the fact that he was born Quirkless.
Regardless, his master, Nana Shimura, noticed his potential and after forcing his body into a tough muscle building regime; Nana finally deemed him worthy for wielding the Quirk: One For All. One of the secrets that makes One For All so unique is the fact that it can be transferred by consuming the current user's DNA, that is through consuming a strand of hair or through blood transfusion and through each transfer the power of One For All continues to grow as the wielder continues to stockpiles its power simply through usage of the Quirk.
After the loss of his master, All Might continued his duty as a hero and to prepare himself for the inevitable battle against the villain that killed his master. See, One For All's main purpose is to defeat a powerful villain who terrorised and ruled Japan with an ironfist in the past. This villain just so happened to be the person who also created One For All in the first place. His name was All For One.
Born in a time when Quirks first awakened. He was gifted with a Quirk that was capable of stealing the Quirks of others and to use them for himself or to give them to others for usage. Through his charisma and manipulation he was able to get many people on his side and help him in his cause of changing the world to fit his ideal vision. Though many people joined him, there was one individual who refused; and that was his younger brother.
Though he seemed to have been born without a Quirk and had sickly composition, he had a strong sense of justice and was horrified against all the evil deeds and as a result fought against his brother and refused to join him. In an effort to submit his younger brother to his will, All For One gave his brother a Quirk, one that can be used to stockpile power. It was only then the younger brother discovered about his own Quirk that the two Meta Abilities merged together to create the powerful Quirk that is known to this day.
When it was finally his turn, All Might fought All For One. It was a tough battle, but in the end All Might proved victorious but at a great cost. All For One inflicted an injury on him; the very same injury that sapped half of his strength.
By the time his body was beginning to reach its breaking point, All Might knew that he needed to find a successor as soon as possible. And as fate may have it, he just so happens to come across a young green haired freckled boy who also aspired to become a hero and just so happens to be Quirkless just like he was all those years ago and also happened to be his biggest fan. This boy's name was Izuku Midoriya.
When the two of them first met, Izuku told the great hero his dream of becoming a hero just like him even though he didn't have a Quirk, he still wanted to save people with a smile on his face just like him, he wanted to confirm if it was possible. At first, All Might told the boy that it wasn't possible and while he praises him for having a dream, he also reminded him to stay realistic.
That was before. And when he was confronted in a situation where a slug villain had held another boy (whom he later got to know his name was Katsuki Bakugo) hostage, he couldn't do anything because he was held back because of his injury; he felt worthless.
But through his surprise, he noticed the same Quirkless boy from before jumped in without a care for his own safety to save the boy despite having no power of his own while others with power could do nothing but watch with awe at the youth's action.
It was only when he saw that boy leap in to save someone despite not having a Quirk, he was inspired to go beyond his limits to step in and save the day. It was then that Toshinori realized that this Quirkless boy is the type of successor he was looking for.
All Might always believed that self-sacrifice was the most important aspect a hero should be capable of and that's what young Midoriya displayed back there. So after finding the boy again and telling him the secret of his Quirk and his offer of giving it to him. The young boy jumped immediately and accepted the responsibility of taking his place and becoming the next Symbol of Peace and as a result the boy was able to enter his dream school: U.A. High, the prestigious school for young heroes in training.
From then onwards, he began training Izuku to develop a strong, muscular body in order to become a proper vessel for One For All, otherwise his body would break apart just by the sheer power that the Quirk stockpiled itself. The very same training regime that his master once gave him as well to properly use the Quirk.
In the end, after all training was done and Izuku finally received One For All, the results were… complex to say the least.
While the training did make his body be able to handle the Quirk's power. It wasn't enough to stop the Quirk from damaging his body to the point where he had to keep seeing Recovery Girl from time to time, to the point where she had to do literal surgery on the boy. During his internship with his scary and strict old mentor, Gran Torino, Izuku learned how to control the power percentage of One For All without hurting himself through a technique he developed on his own that he dubbed 'Full Cowling'.
Meanwhile, after Toshinori gave the young boy his Quirk, all he had left of it was small embers of it burning inside him. While it still was enough for him to do hero work. The cause of transferring his Quirk to the young hero in training reduced the amount of time he could stay in his muscular form from three hours to fifty minutes at best.
And in a shocking turn of events, he found out that All For One was still alive much to his shock and anger over the fact that the nefarious villain survived their last battle. After learning about this information, there have been recent attacks by the League, they most specifically attacked Hero Course Class 1-A, the very same class that young Izuku was a part of.
At one point one of the students of that class, Katsuki Bakugo who also happened to be a childhood friend of Izuku got kidnapped by the League in an effort to recruit the boy among their ranks due to his hot temper but to no avail. All Might and a large group of Pro Heroes managed to pinpoint the location of their secret hideout which was a Kamino bar. From there, they caught and attempted to arrest the group only for them and Bakugo to be teleported away by the mastermind of the league himself: All For One.
All Might, however, quickly deduced where they could be and found them. And much to his displeasure, he met All For One in the flesh himself, now supported by life support systems after receiving the damage from their last fight.
Though his body was damaged from their previous battle he was still powerful enough to give the Symbol of Peace a lot of trouble and it was even worse when he couldn't use his full power without worrying about getting young Bakugo caught in the crossfire. Though in a surprise twist of luck, it seemed young Midoriya and a few of his classmates got it into their heads to save their classmate, it was beyond reckless but their plan worked and Bakugo was saved in the process.
All For One, unfazed by the turn of events, created a warp portal through Kurogiri and sent all the members of the League away from the battle, including the De-facto leader and his successor, Tomura Shigaraki, so that he could focus on finishing All Might.
During their battle, All Might was severely injured to the point that he deflated to his true malnourished form, leaving it open for the whole world to see and the Symbol of Peace wasn't as invincible as he puts himself out to be. All For One planned it all in an effort to demoralize All Might and for the world to lose faith in him.
Toshinori stood strong, determined to defeat the mastermind of the League of Villains. But then, All For One simply laughed and revealed some information that mentally punched Toshinori in the gut.
The fact that the League's current leader, All For One's apprentice, Tomura Shigaraki, is in fact, Nana Shimura's grandon.
The news drove Toshinori to great shock and horror after hearing that and finding out that a relative of his beloved master was a villain, so much that his spirit nearly broke.
Though he was utterly shaken by this revelation, the encouragement provided by his mentor, Endeavor, Edgeshot and all the people around Japan watching, including Izuku and his classmates shouting that they believed in him caused him to remember his master's words from before.
"Toshinori, when you think you can't go on anymore, look inside. Remember why it is you clench your fist."
Remembering his master's words and filled with newfound resolve, All Might mustered all the resolute embers of One For All left inside him to perform one last Smash attack just when All For One was about to finish him off with a powerful Quirk combination attack. When both of their attacks collided, it all came to blows.
And when the dust finally settled, it all paid off in the end. All For One had been defeated and he raised his fist in the air one last time to confirm his victory to everyone watching which caused crowds around the globe especially Japan to erupt in cheers and cry tears of joy at seeing their champion once again succeeding in saving them.
After using all the embers left inside of him, however, One For All finally left his body. Rendering him a Quirkless individual once again. Though, the people were safe and All For One was sent to Tartarus Prison.
Now with the torch passed, Toshinori dedicated himself to training Izuku to master One For All and so far it had been going well. Izuku's mastery over the Quirk continued to grow along with growth and maturity as a hero, as he's slowly becoming his own hero.
Another recent development as of late, because of One For All's growth, it has reached a point that the Quirks that were previously wielded by the past users began to emerge from One For All's core, now giving young Midoriya the ability to access them and use them in combat. An ability that neither All Might nor his master or any of the past users for that matter.
Of course, it won't be easy mastering them. So far young Midoriya was only able to awaken one of them during the Joint training assignment that his class and Class 1-B took part in. And will be a bit more difficult because since the Quirks have stayed dormant in One For All's core for so long, they have now become more powerful than they were when their original users wielded them due to the power stockpiling nature of the Quirk itself.
That's not to say that Midoriya's not making progress. His training over One For All has gotten better and better, he can now use twenty percent of One For All's power without hurting himself.
It may not seem enough at first glance, but just mastering a small percent of One For All is better than nothing and at the rate the boy's going he should be able to master One For All as well as all the Quirks present it, especially when he'll be fighting the Symbol of Evil in the future.
Toshinori was no fool. He knew that even though All For One was kept in Tartarus Prison, a prison with one of the highest security standards, he'll eventually find a way to escape and cause chaos again. One of All For One's scariest traits is his cunning and his years of experience from walking the earth for so many decades. He wouldn't be the so-called Demon King if he wouldn't be able to find a way out.
That and there was his apprentice, Tomura Shigaraki. Although he isn't as dangerous as All For One… yet. That doesn't mean he isn't a threat and the fact that he and the other members of the League of Villains are still at large and haven't been caught have set a bit of unease and slight panic to the public eye.
Not to mention the recent amount of villain attacks that occurred at U.A. despite the teachers and the high security at large. To make matters worse, many people began losing faith in Pro Heroes and questioning whether or not they're doing their jobs properly.
Since he couldn't fight anymore, Toshinori was forced to retire and Endeavor, the former No. 2 hero and his fellow colleague, (who he's unaware that the Flame Hero used to envy him with a passion due to his position as the No.1 hero) took his place.
With U.A. suffering many villain attacks and Endeavor taking his position as the No.1 hero, many people started to lose their faith in U.A. and hero society as a whole. Endeavor is a strong hero as he had the maximum number of villain captures, but he's bad temper and rude attitude caused many people to dislike him and created many enemies for him in the past. So most of society isn't sure how he fits the No.1 spot.
Though recently his behaviour has started to change for the better and started to better train the next generation of heroes. Slowly some people were gaining their faith in heroes again. It was slow, but at least they are making progress, that's what counts.
The feeling hasn't sunk in yet for Toshinori. The Symbol of Peace is retired, with him no longer possessing One For All, he's now back to being a Quirkless civilian; powerless and forced to be spectator on the sidelines while the level of crime continues to grow in his absence.
The retired Pro Hero sighed again as he gazed out the window at the orange sky thinking back on his early days as a hero.
"I knew I wouldn't stay as the Symbol of Peace forever." Toshinori thought. "But I can't help but think back on all the good I've done and still could've done. Well, I suppose it can't be helped. All good things come to an end, afterall."
All Might then took out his phone and saw that as of now it has become 3:00 pm.
"That's odd." the former Pro Hero thought. "It's not like for young Midoriya to be late. Maybe he's caught up in some little work. Aizawa can get a bit too serious with his assignments." All Might shuddered slightly at the type of teaching methods the underground hero can give his students sometimes.
"Still with the recent field trip that's been planned out, it'll surely give me some time to catch up with young Midoriya's training and help him master the new development of One For All." Toshinori mused in thought. "And given the type of event, it'll also give me a chance to catch up with some old friends. Especially after…"
All Might then had a look of sadness on his malnourished face as some of his past memories began to come back to him. All Might had many regrets in life; mostly coming from the people who he couldn't save. This being one of them.
However, before his mind could think any further back, the sound of the door being opened cut All Might out of his thoughts and brought him back to reality.
He turned to see it was none other than his student and successor in training: Izuku Midoriya.
"Hello, All Might!" Izuku said with a smile. He is a boy with a round face with a set of four symmetrical freckles, green eyes, dark green hair that sticks up at odd angles, he wore the U.A. school uniform as well as the school's blazer and his trademark red shoes. He currently had his yellow school bag with him at the moment.
"Sorry, I'm late, All Might." Izuku said, sheepishly as he rubbed the back of his neck. "Aizawa Sensei wouldn't let us leave until we completed the assignment he gave us."
All Might nodded, knowing the type of teacher Shota can be sometimes. "Well, you're here now, that's what matters." he said before gesturing to the sofas. "Take a seat."
The young hero-in-training nodded before placing his school bag on the couch across from All Might and sitting next to it.
"I'm sure you're aware of the recent field trip the school has planned out." All Might noted.
Izuku nodded in confirmation. "I do, All Might. The trip to the new Tech expo in New York that will be showcasing a wide variety of support items." Izuku explained. "Scientists from all around the world, including I-Island will be visiting to showcase their latest creation of support items to better help Pro Heroes in their line of work," he concluded. "I bet Mr. Shield and Mellisa would be there too. I look forward to catching up with them again if we meet." Izuku said with his usual cheerful smile.
All Might nodded, smiling as well, also looking forward to seeing his old friend once, but then the image of another scientist who also used to be his friend caused him to look downcast.
Izuku blinked when he noticed All Might's saddened expression. "What's wrong, All Might? Are you okay?" the boy asked out of concern.
Toshinori shook his head. "No, my boy, I'm fine. Just… had something on my mind." he clarified as he rubbed his head with one hand.
Izuku contemplated whether or not to ask All Might what had him concerned and what All Might's been thinking about.
After a few seconds he made up his mind.
"Is it something… regarding the school trip?" the green haired boy guessed, he was ready to stop asking if necessary.
All Might was aware of the fact that Izuku is really perceptive. While his fan obsession of him and heroes is pretty creepy, it also made him very knowledgeable and a strong tactician in the field of hero work.
All Might then looked up, gazing at the ceiling. "You have followed my career so closely for a long time, my boy." he said before looking at his successor again. "Surely you could have heard of my time in my younger days back when I was in New York."
Izuku gasped before smiling with excitement with stars in his eyes upon hearing that. "Do I?! It was the first time you fought alongside the American Pro Hero team: the Avengers!" he exclaimed with his usual fanboy attitude.
All Might smiled as he got used to Midoiya's fanboy habits. While it can be disturbingly creepy quickly from time to time, it is honestly starting to be an eccentricity that the former Symbol of Peace had come to accept and was sometimes rather amusing to watch.
The retired hero nodded. "Correct, my boy. I teamed with and fought alongside the Avengers and found good friends in all of them." he smiled back on all the memories he had with the Pro Hero team of America.
"But there was one member in particular who I got along with the most." All Might confirmed, now that piques Midoriya's interest even further.
"Really?" Izuku exclaimed in wonder. "Which one? Was it the Invincible Iron man? Hawkeye? Or was it the Incredible Hulk?"
All Might chuckled at Izuku's curiosity before shaking his head. "No, while I did forge positive friendships among all of them, including the Hulk, despite the guy's huge temper. The one who I considered my best friend was… Hank Pym; the Antman."
Izuku gasped as his eyes widened with stars while his smile became even wider upon hearing that. "Holy crap! Really?! That is so cool!"
All Might nodded with a smile. "In all my years knowing him, Antman and I have saved many lives together and defeated many villains." he explained.
Izuku nodded as he smiled with excitement. "Uh huh. I have heard all about it on the internet, about all the people you saved when you and the Avengers had been through when you were working together as well as the many villains you fought! Such as Norman Osborn AKA the Green Goblin! The Red Skull! And even the evil crime syndicate: The Maggia!" he exclaimed with excitement. "Not to mention, that one time when you and Hulk had a public arm wrestling match to determine who was the strongest or that other time when you and Hawkeye had a staring contest or when you…"
Izuku slowly began to unknowingly mumble to himself again as he recalled the various events that took place during All Might's time with the Avengers which included saving people, personal competitions, fighting various villains, etc. His mentor in question simply sweatdropped at his successor mumbling to himself. While Toshinori did get used to Izuku's fanboy behaviour; he still couldn't seem to get by his successor's habit of mumbling at a fast pace.
"Uh… you're overthinking it again, young Midoriya." All Might told him softly only to be ignored as his voice got overshadowed by the volume of the young hero-in-training's mumbling.
"Kid…" All Might voiced
"And how should I forget the time when you and Quicksilver had a public race to see how the fastest hero is. You guys raced all the way from Time Square to the statue of Liberty. Granted, Quicksilver did when that race ended; but the fact that you were able to keep and catch up to one of the fastest heroes in the world speaks volumes of how awesome you are All.."
"KID!" All Might yelled in a much higher tone causing Izuku to yelp in shock and slightly jump as he seized his mumbling.
Toshinori took a deep breath in and exhaled. "Now to the point, since you heard about Antman, you probably have heard about his other profession." the skeletal-like man said.
The green haired boy nodded with a bright smile. "Yeah, Antman or Hank Pym as he's normally called; is also a well-respected scientist who has developed many different support items over the years! He got so good that he won the American Hero Support Award and created his own support item company: Pym Industries!"
All Might couldn't help but smile at his successor's knowledge.
Izuku's eyes then widened and his excitement dropped. "Wait, so since we're going to the Support Item expo that means he'll also be attending it too, right?" he wonders aloud.
All Might nodded. "Indeed, for many years Hank had participated in the Tech Expo and won first prize for many years and has a result for this year. He'll be representing this year's competition and at the end of it; he's planning on unveiling his latest creation." Toshinori explained as he narrowed his eyes. "One that will change the world as we know, he says."
Izuku shifted a bit and his eyes widened when he heard that. "He actually said that?" he asks out of curiosity.
All Might nodded before taking out his phone, before tapping open a certain texting screen and showed it to Izuku.
"That's exactly what he told me." All Might said. "He said he's been working on it for months ever since my retirement was announced."
Izuku could only stare at the mention of his idol/mentor's retirement. The battle between All Might and All For One is still fresh within Izuku's mind. With both his injury and the loss of One For All; All Might can't do any hero work anymore, something which was quite a shock to many of the Public. They all thought All Might would always be around to save the day but that fight against the Symbol of Evil proved that All Might is far from the invincible hero that they all he was.
"Ever since All Might's retirement, things really haven't stayed the same," Izuku thought deeply. "While Endeavor has been doing well as the No. 1 hero; society's faith in heroes is slowly beginning to diminish, with the added disappearance of Hawks and Best Jeanist. People are really beginning to worry whether or not heroes are taking their job seriously."
Just then something clicked in the young hero's head that grabbed his attention causing him to look at All Might with a questionable look. "Did Antman say what it is he's building that could change the world?" he asked.
All Might shook his head. "No clue. All he said was that he will be revealing it at the end of the expo." he said but he too was curious of what his friend might mean due to those words.
He decided to shove whatever questions he has for the time being and decided to bring them up when he and Hank talk face-to-face. Until then he needed to address what's important right now.
"So," All Might voiced, grabbing Izuku's attention. "How's your training on One For All lately?"
Izuku smiled nodding as he always liked to discuss his training with All Might.
"It's been going well so far." he said before looking at his scarred hand. "I've been improving my Shoot Style lately thanks to some help from Ida," he said before his expression became downcasted. "But I still haven't been unable to use Blackwhip properly or increase my power output of One For All." he said in a sad tone.
All Might smiled, reassuringly. "Don't worry, young Midoriya. Sooner or later, I'm confident that you'll be able to make this power your own. I haven't regretted the decision of making you my successor."
Izuku looked up in surprise to see All Might's smile before smiling with determination himself and nodding. "Right! I won't let you down, All Might!"
He exclaimed.
All Might nodded while still smiling. "I know you won't, my boy. And I'll also be coming along with you on this trip." he said.
Izuku perked up when he heard that. "You are?"
All Might nodded. "I would like to see your progress with One For All myself and how you're improving. That and I figured I play more of an actual teaching role." he said as he rubbed the back of his head sheepishly. "My master, Gran Torino, has been on my case for not being a proper mentor." he explained while shuddering in fear.
Izuku shivered knowingly before nodding, he was aware of the type of teacher Gran Torino is during his internship with the Pro Hero but he does respect the elderly hero's strength and is grateful for him to better handle One For All's power.
"I would really appreciate your input on my training on One For All and Blackwhip, All Might." Izuku explained. "With you, I feel like I'll be ready for anything!" he said with a fire in his eyes.
The retired hero heaved a sigh and smiled. "Alright, Midoriya. That's what I like to hear. How about you go and relax with your classmates for now. I'll update you further if anything happens."
Izuku rose to his feet. "Thank you, All Might, I will." he smiled. "I'll be in the commons if you need me again for later, Bye."
With that, the green haired boy grabbed his bag before leaving the office.
All Might let go of a sigh he had in. The next couple of weeks are going to be ruff, that's for sure. Especially if Midoriya has to master the Quirks of the previous holders for the inevitable fight against All For One. There was something about that text that Hank sent him that seemed to have put him on edge. Ever since the horrific accident, Toshinori and Hank had a bit of a strained relationship and as a result have remained distant for many years. All Might hoped that during this trip, he could fix things with Hank and was curious to wonder what kind of creation that he built that could 'change the world.'
"Well, only time will tell." Toshinori thought as he slumped back on the couch with a tired sigh.
A/N: And that's it for now. Feel free to tell me what you think, give any ideas, any mistakes or what topics that you're interested in. And like I said before I had this idea for a while and glad I finally did it. Again, this is the first time I'm doing an anime fanfic so please keep the hate to a minimum. Also I'll be busy for a while with my second set of exams coming up, so the next update might be a bit late. Thank you for your patience and I'll get the next chapter up soon.
Until then, SMOKE BOMB!
