In the middle of a gigantic desert with a scorching sun, Rael walked calmly without caring about the temperature.
After leaving Nefertari, he used his [Rising Storm] Authority to activate his Divine Speed and arrive at this location.
Confirming that he was at the location, he desired Rael to raise his right foot as a massive amount of magical energy built up in it.
With a single stomp, the entire earth shook before the ground beneath him began to crumble.
Even as the ground collapsed, Rael kept his composure before landing in a cave beneath the earth.
Looking around, the young man recognized it quickly, for this was where he found out about the cult that summoned Seth, Thanatos, and Horus and where he found the [Grimoire] of Maat and the [Spear of Longinus].
The spear had been destroyed by killing Seth, but Rael still had the [Grimoire] with him, stored thanks to his magic.
Rael didn't care much about what Nefertari did, trying to seduce him. Rael was someone who knew a lot about lies and deceiving others.
He had not been a saint in his past life.
He realized that although Nefertari was trying to seduce him, she had no evil intentions in her heart. She was relatively very innocent despite the way she acted.
One of Rael's Authorities confirmed this.
It was an Authority with no offensive capabilities, the Fifth Authority that Rael usurped from Seth; [Lord of Deception].
Many Egyptian cultures feared Seth and his powers of controlling and manipulating people, and with good reason.
Seth is a true jurist, an exaggerated politician, speaking meekly and softly but with complicated, difficult-to-understand, excessive words.
This Authority has no combat ability but can affect even Heretic Gods and Campione.
It grants Rael the most persuasive lip in the World, making the best lies seem as accurate as the sun or convincing people to do the most absurd things, to give up, to act against their person or morals, among several others. However, this ability's effectiveness depends on their training level and their opponent's intelligence, among others.
If he tries to anger them, he will cause the purest hatred and the most violent of furies; if he tries to persuade or charm them, his words will be sweet as honey, enchanting, magnificent, and everyone will look at him with the deepest of loves.
Thanks to this Authority, Rael could instinctively know if someone was lying or trying to deceive him. She found nothing wrong in Nefertari.
But still, this Authority had been bothering him for some time, showing something was wrong.
And now Rael decided to investigate it thoroughly.
Rael's eyes swept the place as he used [Detection] magic to try to find something wrong and found a strange flow of energy below the ground.
With another stomp, the ground cracked, and something emerged.
And when he saw what was buried in the sand, the Fifth Campione's eyes widened.
"I'm not liking how the pieces are starting to fit together..."
He stooped down as he wiped some of the dust on the ground.
"The ritual for summoning a Heretic God is extensive. It is extremely time-consuming and can take centuries for any result..."
"Not only that, it requires the sacrifice of dozens of people for such a thing. If I'm not mistaken, the First Campione did something like that two years before the Cannon story sacrificing over two hundred Hime-Mikos to summon the Heretic God Siegfried."
"If just to summon him required such a sacrifice... to summon three Heretic Gods as powerful as Seth, Thanatos, and Horus, the sacrifice should be completely colossal, thousands of person in my estimation."
"But here, there is no trace of a sacrifice or anything like that, so it is very suspicious."
Rael muttered to himself as he finally looked at what was belowground.
"But that answers everything."
Buried in the sand was a decomposing corpse. There was very little left, most of it just the bones.
From the structure, it was something that had belonged to a woman.
Extending his hand, Rael broke off a piece of the bones and stared as he analyzed its residual magical energy.
"Hime-Mikos are descendants of Divine Ancestors, former Mother Earth Goddesses who lost their position and power."
They are Witches of the highest order, having enormous magical power, though less than a Heretic God, or Campione, and eternal youth. If killed, they will be reincarnated centuries later. Still, they will not have most of their memories, retaining only enough to know who and what they were.
"Only women can be Hime-Mikos, and their abilities are often passed down from mother to daughter."
"The greatest Hime-Miko in the world is surely the White Princess, whose talent allows her to communicate with the Gods, even though they are in the Realm of Immortality."
Rael's eyes focused on the bones as he remembered something.
"She is a powerful Hime-Miko with powers of a Witch, a High Priestess. The only ones who match Witches and Hime-Mikos are the Witch of Sardinia and the White Princess. Her talent is even greater than theirs."
"What would be a greater talent than communicating with the Gods?" Rael wondered aloud.
"Surely it would be the power to summon a God on earth, the power to summon a Heretic God!"
Rael slowly stood up.
"But that would surely come with a price. The summoner would probably not survive such an act."
Rael's obsidian-colored eyes flashed in a cold fury.
The magical energy in this corpse was highly similar to that of a person he knew.
To the power of Nefertari Urbi.
"I think I've solved the mystery, the suspicious disappearance of those two."
Looking at the dead body with regret, Rael already knew its identity.
There was no doubt in his mind that that skeleton belonged to Nefertari's mother.
"Still, only an organization with centuries of existence could prepare for such a ritual. Many artifacts and materials would be needed. Only an ancient organization could pull off something like that."
Rael's eyes went to the wall, and he saw a symbol that he had overlooked on his first visit to this place due to haste.
Seeing the symbol sent Rael into such a rage that his divine aura surged as he crushed the bone in his hand.
For the symbol was the [Eye of Ra].
"I knew that old man was strange, but that..."
Rael gritted his teeth in fury as he looked at the pages near the symbol and widened his eyes.
"So that's what you're planning, Amon Asenate!"
If that was what that old bastard was planning, then it was up to Rael to stop it.
He would make sure to show how terrifying a Demon King could be.
