The Fifth Campione wandered around the great city of Cairo, trying to find Nefertari and Asenate, but his efforts were not bearing fruit.

Rael had no Authority that could locate a target. Although he knew some spells, he had never used one of them on Nefertari and so could not find her.

So the [King] made his way through the places where he knew Nefertari and Asenate spent their days but found nothing.

However, as he wandered, Rael noticed an abnormal flow of magical energy from underground.

Never mind that he was in the middle of the city, black lightning flickered through Rael's body as he disappeared into the Realm of divine speed.

Rael, for a moment, couldn't help but marvel at how the world looked to him when he used [GodSpeed]. The entire planet looked like a world of statues where he could move anywhere he wanted.

Through the Earth, air, and even flowing through materials like metal due to being in his lightning form, although his Authority did not grant [GodSpeed] in the same way as the [Black Lightning] of the Fourth Campione, it was still an incredible power.

The strange energy was coming from underground; although he knew this, Rael needed to find a way there.

He found a simple path covering hundreds of miles for the Fifth Campione. In a few seconds, he headed toward the cave where he had seen the evidence of what happened to Nefertari's mother.

Still, in the form of lightning, he advanced through the cave until he found a complex network of hidden tunnels.

With his [Detection] magic and lightning speed to its maximum, the Fifth Campione covered the total distance from when he left Cairo to a large altar hidden beneath the Earth in just three seconds.

The lightning left Rael's body as he returned to his physical form and stood in front of the altar entrance. In front of him, there were several knights.

"Come out."

The Fifth Campione muttered in a calm voice as he continued his steps. The knights shook uncontrollably, seeing who stood before them but still showed no signs of moving.

Rael's eyes shone in a sand-like hue, and in the next instant, all the knights were transformed into sand statues.

The Third Authority Rael usurped from Seth came from God's dominion over the Deserts. Like many of Rael's Authorities, it was a vast area of power capable of affecting an entire country.

The main ability was to grant Rael absolute control over the sands and the desert. Still, he also discovered a trick in using this Authority.

Using only a portion of her power, Rael could turn anything he looked at into sand.

It was similar to Marquis Voban's [Eyes of Sodom], which could turn living creatures into salt. Still, Rael's turned them into the sand and could affect even inorganic matter.

If Rael wished he could turn an entire city, from buildings, trees, rivers, and all living things, into sand statues, all those affected by this power would enter a state of temporary death since it would take months for the Authority's effect to dissipate.

Of course, the targets would surely be dead if some of these statues broke due to being turned into sand.

The only weakness of this power was that it did not affect Gods and God Slayers due to their Innate magic resistance.

The effect of the curse turned not only the knights into the sand but also the doors of the great altar, which were soon blown off by a kick from Rael.

At that exact moment, everyone's attention turned to the Fifth Campione.

"King!"

Rael's eyes widened when he saw Nefertari trapped in a magic circle, dozens of mages around him having their magical energy drained, the altar pulsing with overwhelming magical energy.

And at the center of it all was Asenate with a smile on her face.

"Your Majesty, if you are here, then I suppose you have it all figured out... ever since I met you, I realized that you were different and would figure it out eventually, a Demon King with high wisdom and who likes to plan is terrifying."

Asenate said it all with a calm smile on her face.

In comparison, Rael's eyes flashed in fury as he shot up.

Asenate was thrown across the hall as he crashed into the wall, blood leaking from his mouth and his stomach as he saw a large black scythe slicing into his belly.

"A-ah, even if... my vid-"

The older man's words were stopped when Rael held his neck with his left hand choking him.

"Shut up, you worm!"

A black aura that emitted a strong feeling of 'death' appeared, enveloping Rael's left hand.

In the same instant, Asenate's skin began to decay and rot acceleratedly. The life energy of the older man's body was sucked out as he quickly turned to dust in Rael's hands.

"You will not have tranquility even in death."

An Authority from a God of Death, and the Second and final Authority that Rael usurped from Thanatos, the [Hand of the Lord of Death].

By touching a creature, Rael can invoke Thanatos' grace upon it and kill it immediately, destroying its soul and preventing it from going to the Underworld, denying any resistance or regeneration.

Some types of immortal creatures can suffer True Death from this.

The Innate resistance of Campiones and Heretic Gods can mitigate the effect of this Authority at a certain point. Still, even then, the deterioration is extreme. Suppose the target, such as a Campione, is already well worn. In that case, Rael can overcome the magical resistance by killing them on the spot.

It is worth noting that this Authority ignores Resurrection Authorities, thus preventing the targets from coming back to life.

Seeing the man's death, Rael immediately went to where Nefertari was. The magic circle holding her shattered as Rael approached, and he held the young woman's weary body.

"King..."

"Calm down. Everything will be fine now."

Rael said with a smile as he heard the heavy breathing of the young woman, who had lost some magical energy. Still, instead of calming down, Nefertari became tenser.

"It's not over yet. We have to get out of here."

Rael blinked hearing Nefertari's words, but soon a gigantic pulse came from the altar that began to shake violently, and something began to energy from there.

Feeling the overwhelming divine energy that began to surge, Rael moved quickly.

Black lightning flickered through his body as he disappeared into the Realm of divine speed.
