Chapter 2
The Start of a Journey
The sound of an alarm clock woke Ashley up with a start. She stretched her arms and legs and got ready for her journey. "It's a good thing I set my alarm clock or I probably wouldn't get a starter," she said.
She took off her pajamas and put her clothes on. She wears a black shirt, a light-blue and white jacket, a dark blue skirt, blue and white sneakers, and blue fingerless gloves with blue outlines. She also wore a red and white hat that held a green mark. For her this hat was special; her father told her this was the first hat he wore the day he became a trainer she was really happy with the hat. After checking everything was ready Ashley ran downstairs.
Delia was still in bed sleeping not caring what day it is. Ashley entered the kitchen and sighed, knowing her mother wouldn't even get up to make breakfast. She made herself a light breakfast and some sandwiches she would need on her journey.
After breakfast, she ran to Professor Oak Laboratory as fast as she can. In her mind, she was thinking about what Pokemon to choose. The first one was called bulbsaur a grass/poison type with a big bulb growing on its back, the second was charmander a fire type it was a small lizard with a flame on the tip of its tail, and the third was squirtle a small water type turtle. She liked all three so making up her mind wasn't easy.
She made it to the lab at last. She rang the doorbell and there at the door was Prof Oak. "Morning professor," said Ash. "Ah, Good Morning Ash," said the professor, "Are you ready to get your first Pokemon?" "As ready as I'll ever be" replied Ash with determination in her eyes. "Okay, follow me, " said the professor. Prof Oak leads Ash into the research room of the lab; the research room is where Prof Oak kept his machinery for research and where he stalled the starter Pokemon for new Pokemon trainers. "Well Ash, what's your choice?" asked Prof Oak "bulbsaur, charmander, or squirtle?"
Ash was just about to reach for a Pokeball when she noticed a fourth Pokeball that looked different. It was a white Pokeball. "Professor what kind of Pokeball is that?" asked Ash "Oh, that's called a Premier Ball my dear, it works the same way as a regular Pokeball" replied Prof Oak "Inside is a Pokemon I caught yesterday to feed it this Pokemon is pretty shy." "May I take a look at it professor?" asked Ash.
He nodded and opened the fourth Pokeball. What popped out was a mammalian creature with a murky grey body, blue eyes, a white-collar, and at the end of its tail is white. "This Pokemon is an Eevee a normal type it is also a shiny" Prof Oak explained.
Ash bent down onto her knees to try and talk to Eevee. When Eevee saw her, she backed up slowly Ash knew she had to be careful not to scare her. "Hi Eevee," said with a smile "My name is Ashley, but everyone calls me Ash for short. My dream is to become a really strong trainer and a talented coordinator if you want, you can join me on my journey. But if you don't want to I won't force you." Eevee started at Ash for a minute thinking this human has a good heart slowly but surely she walked up to Ash and nuzzled her hand. "So is that a yes?" asked Ash, Eevee nodded and climbed up her shoulder and lick her cheek.
Prof Oak wasn't surprised with this after all this is Ash, whose he's looking at she befriended the elite four Pokemon with no problems. "Well Ash I take it you want Eevee as your starter?" asked Prof Oak "Yes, sir, I do," said Ash looks at Eevee with a smile. Professor oak gave Ash five pokeballs as well as Eevee's premier ball and a smartphone which got the girl confused. "Normally I would give you a Pokedex, but a friend of mine recommends I should give you this instead it's called a Rotom phone is functions as a Pokedex and much more." Ash thanks the man and was about to return Eevee when she nodded her head no. "I take it you don't like the Pokeball?" asked Ash. Eevee nodded its head. "It's okay", said Ash "if you don't want to go inside I won't force you to."
After receiving his pokeballs and Rotom phone, she headed out of the lab. She wanted to head home to get her satchel. "Eevee I wished dad was home, he would fine you adorable," said Ash. "Eve" replied Eevee. Just as Ash was leaving she noticed a red car came up to the lab it was her old friend and rival Gary Oak, Prof Oak's grandson. Gary was overconfident and believed he could do anything, but at the same time, he has a crush on her he would always do something to get her attention or impress her. Ash tried her best not to be noticed unfortunately luck was not on her side. "Hey Ashy," said Gary, "Did you came to watch me get a starter Pokemon? How sweet of you. " Ash rolled her eyes. "Hi Gary," said Ash "I came to get my starter Pokemon which is Eevee here." she pointed to Eevee on her shoulder "Now if you don't mind I have to goodbye to mom. So bye. " She walked quickly before he could say anything, he just shrugged and went inside the lab.
Back at the house, someone was waiting for her and this someone is her father. "Hey, there princess," said Red. Ash was shocked but jumped in her father's arms for a hug which he happily accepts. "Daddy, what are you doing?" asked Ash. "Did you think I would miss today, of course, I would be here." Red then noticed eevee. "Is that your Pokemon my dear?" asked Red, "Yes, she is come here and say hi" said Ash. Eevee slowly made its way to Red nuzzled his legs "Hi there I'm Red your trainer's father nice to meet you. By the way, dear, did you see Gary" asked Red. Ash rolled her eyes and groans lightly, her father laugh a bit. "I take it you saw him, " she nodded "Isn't funny how the most overconfident child here has the biggest crush on you." "All jokes aside good luck on your journey, here's your satchel." Ash took her satchel, gave her father one last hug and a kiss, and off she went.
Arthur Note: I hope everyone enjoys this chapter this is my first time doing this. Question should Ashley meet Misty along the way or at Cerulean City? I appreciate any suggestions to make this fanfic better. I hope you like how I describe Eevee.
