Chapter 3
New Friends and Delia is in trouble
Before long Ash and Eevee came into a small forest. "Well Eevee this is our first step on our journey," said Ash "you ready buddy?" Eevee nodded and smiled. Eevee had been riding on her shoulder Ash didn't mind though; to her this way to bond more. Just then Ash realized she hadn't scanned Eevee yet. "Hey Eevee is it alright if I scan you?" questioned Ash. Eevee nodded and jumped off her shoulder. She checked out her Rotom Phone.
It stated: Eevee, the Evolution Pokemon. A Normal Type. Depending on the circumstances, Eevee can evolve into many forms. Female. Attacks: Tackle, Swift, Double team, and Detect.
"Those are pretty good," replied Ash "you even know Detect that's awesome." Eevee blushes in embarrassment.
Just then Ash noticed a Pokemon in the grass. It was a brown bird with a cream-colored chest. Ash recognized it as a Pidgey. She told Eevee to use Swift on the Pidgey, Eevee just kept using Swift unit Pidgey was disoriented. Ash threw one of the pokeballs at the Pidgey and after a few seconds it ding! Ash was happy and shouted, "Alright I just got a pidgey!" and struck a pose. She picked up the pokeball "Eevee, this is the first step of making new friends. I hope we see more along the way. " said Ash. Eevee nodded her head.
She checked out Pidgey; Pidgey, the Tiny Bird Pokemon. A Normal and Flying Type. Pidgey usually doesn't battle, but it won't hesitate to attack if provoked. Female. Attacks: Quick Attack, Sand Attack, and Wing Attack.
"Pidgey moves are pretty good too," said "but we will train hard to get stronger. I know we could start practicing your moves. Come on out Pidgey. "Pidgey came out, its ball confused, and stared at Ash. "Hi pidgey," said Ash "I'm Ashley my goal is to become a strong trainer and top coordinator, will you join me on my journey?" Pidgey was shocked. 'This human already caught me and yet she is still asking to join her.' Pidgey nodded her head. Ash was happy and gave both Eevee and Pidgey a hug, which startled the two at first but enjoyed the embrace. Ash lets them go, "Okay gang I want us to practice for the pokemon contest before the gym battle," said Ash, both pokemon titled in confusion. Ash notices this and explains to them what contests are and how they work. "Eevee I want you to use Swift in the air, got it?" Eevee nodded and got to work. "Pidgey, I want you to break them apart with Wing Attack okay?" asked Ash. Pidgey nodded and got ready. Eevee launched stars into the air while Pidgey broke them apart with Wing Attack creating yellow and white sparkles. Both pokemon stared in awe of what they did.
Ash returned pidgey and decided to keep moving. She eventually came towards a stream. Using the chance she decided to go fishing so she got out her fishing rod. After waiting for a few minutes, her rod caught something. It was a pokemon that looked like a star with a red jewel in the middle; it was a Staryu.
Ash decided to scan it; Staryu, the Star Shape Pokemon. A Water Type. If its body is torn, it can regenerate as long as the glowing central core remains intact. Genderless. Attacks: Water Gun, Rapid Spin, Recover, and Swift.
"A Staryu will be perfect in a contest," said Ash "Eevee I choose you" Eevee nodded and got in battle position. Staryu sprays a big blast of water at Eevee. "Dodge it and use tackle!" shouted Ash. Eevee dodges the water gun and charge towards Staryu, Staryu decides to counter with rapid spin. Both moves collide and cause a mini-explosion, but rapid spin manages to overpower tackle Eevee got thrown back a bit. "Are you okay?" asked Ash, worried. "Eve" she exclaimed. "Good now use double team and swift!" shouted Ash. Eevee made multiple copies of herself and all of them use swift. Staryu got hit a lot, but use recover to heal itself a bit. Ash grits her teeth 'This is one tough Staryu' "Eevee don't give up keep going!" shouted Ash. Eevee kept on using swift over and over again until Staryu fell. Ash, using the chance quickly throws a pokeball at it; it shakes a few times before it ding.
She was happy to make a new friend when suddenly Eevee's stomach rumbled. Eevee blushes in embarrassment. "It's okay sweetie," said Ash "we all get hungry sometimes." She went into her satchel, grabbed some supplies, and decided to have a picnic. She released her Pokemon to join in. "Pidgey met Staryu, our new friend," said Ash. Pidgey and Staryu greeted each other. Ash noticed how Eevee wasn't scared to play with the others signs she was starting to become less shy. "I hope everyone likes it. I made it myself," said Ash. The pokemon started to sniff the food before they tasted it and then devoured it, Ash giggled lightly before eating one of her sandwiches. After everyone was finished, she returned everyone (except Eevee) to their pokeballs 'Now let's see according to the map I'm on the right path to Viridian City' she thought. She looked up in the sky and noticed a beautiful rainbow, but what shocked her was a red and white colored phoenix with yellow tail feathers. She quickly took a picture of it and decided to scan it later. " Come on Eevee, let's keep going, we're almost there." So Ash and Eevee kept moving forward.
Delia finally woke up 3 hours after Ashley left. She lazily got dressed and made a little something to eat. Delia realized she was home alone so she grabbed her husband's credit card and decided to go shopping; at the mall, she brought expensive clothes, jewelry, shoes, etc. She was maxing out the card, but she didn't notice. She decided to leave and went to the cashier "Okay Ma'am, " said the cashier "that will be $300.95," Delia gave her the card. The cashier checked out the card and noticed it's maxed out. "Excuse me, miss," said the cashier, "but this card is maxed out." "What's that supposed to mean?" Delia asked a little annoyed "It means there is no money on the card" replied the cashier.
Delia couldn't believe all of that money Red had just left? "That is so not true, there can't be any money left on this card that's outrageous," said Delia angrily. The cashier took a step back, a little scared of the sudden outburst, Delia continued "I demand you accept this money and so I can take my stuff." "I'm so sorry, miss," said the cashier, "but I'm not allowed to do that." Delia grabbed a pokeball and released the pokemon inside which contained a small blue pokemon; it's an Oddish. "Oddish quick you sleep powder!" whispered Delia, Oddish released a blue powder from its leaves towards the cashier and suddenly the cashier fell asleep.
Delia returned her pokemon and took all her stuff without paying. Little did she know someone saw and recorded her; this person is Lance the Dragon Master in disguise. "Dragonite come on out," said Lance, Dragonite came out of its ball with a roar. "Quick Dragonite take me to Red," said Lance, Dragonite nodded and let Lance hop on him. Red was on a phone call with the credit card company, "Excuse me, " said the worker "I'm sorry to bother Champion Red, but your credit card is maxed out." "What?!" replied Red "please tell me you're joking." "I'm afraid I'm not joking," said the worker, "we checked your card, but there is no money at all. Sorry again to bother you. " And with that, the call ended and Lance had found him, "Lance can you believe this? My credit card maxed out," said Red a bit angry, "Unfortunately, I can believe it," replied Lance. Before Red could ask Lance showed him the video and saying Red was upset was an understatement Red released his Charizard, which he nicknamed Draco, and told him to fly him to his house and fast and he can with Lance following behind.
At home, Delia feels a little bit guilty about doing that, but she was happier with her new clothes just for her. In her closet, there are lots and lots of clothes, jewelry, and other fancy things she wanted. Red and Lance just arrived outside and Red was about to kick the door down until Lance stopped him, taking a deep breath Red opened the door and called Delia to come downwards. "Oh hi honey hi, Lance, did you come for a visit?" "Delia, did you honestly max out my credit card?" Delia got scared and tried to come up with an excuse. "Oh, don't bother trying to lie," said Lance "I've got the proof." He showed her the video. "Delia losing all my money is one thing," said Red in a cold voice "but using sleep powder on someone innocent is another thing. What if someone else besides Lance saw you, you could've been in jail. " Lance went up to Delia's room with Delia and Red follows close behind, Lance and Red jaws dropped seeing so many fancy things. "Don't you dare touch my things, " said Delia "Are you kidding me? This is what you be doing when I'm not around? Don't care about me and Ashley? You're a disgrace," shouted Red.
Delia had just about enough of this "Oddish come out and use poison powder!" shouter Delia. Oddish came out and released a purple powder towards Red and Lance. "Oh no you don't Draco use flamethrower!" shouted Red. Draco blew a flamethrower at Oddish, burning it to a crisp. Oddish fainted immediately and Delia returned her pokemon. "Delia you owe me and Ashley," said Red, "I don't owe you or that daughter of ours anything, what makes you think I will do that?" questioned Delia. Lance and Red look at each other and smirks, Lance said: "Well we could always send this little video to the police station." Red continued "You can return all the things you brought from the store which you don't need and apologize to that lady you put to sleep. And most importantly you are going to find a job to pay off my credit card. If you refuse, we could turn you in to the police, so what's it's gonna be?" Delia saw she was outnumbered and they both had strong pokemon so they could stop her at any time so she had no choice "Okay, " she mumbles "I'll take the clothes back and get a job." "Wise decision" they both said. So Delia got to work returning all the things she didn't need and let's just say it's a lot. It took her all day until she finally was finished. She apologizes to the lady and she forgives her, but she is not allowed in the mall for two months which made her disappointed.
Red and Lance watch her to make sure she was doing her job, once they saw she was working they left not, but Red left Alakazam to keep an eye on her. Red felt stupid for not noticing before "How could I be so stupid?" said Red, "I mean I should've seen this coming "What do you mean?" asked Lance. Red sighed "Ever since we got married and had Ashley she was so distant from us and kept making excuses on why she didn't talk or spend time with us. She was such a gold-digger every day she would ask for some money, but she never said why she would need it. I eventually got tired of her asking so I gave her my credit card and you know what happens next." Lance was shocked at how bad his wife is and he's more surprised he didn't divorce her. He didn't question further; they just kept quiet during the ride back.
FLASHBACK
"Daddy!" said Ash. "Hi princess," replied Red "did you have fun on the trip?" "It was great," said Ash "I saw so many pokemon hey where's mom?" Red didn't respond, he didn't know himself. "She's probably out with her friends so how about you tell me about the trip." "Okay daddy!" said Ash.
END OF FLASHBACK
Red didn't know what to do; he didn't want to divorce her. Even though she is a gold digger, he still cares about her and wants to believe that she cares a bit about him and Ashley. 'Delia,' Red thought 'it can't end like this. Do you only truly marry me because of my money?'
