Lavender Bar, London England
Ron Weasley tugged at his collar nervously. He had never pretended to be joining a drug ring before. He looked over to Neville, who was standing next to his chair. Neville looked back curiously. Ron just shook his head. He went over his story in his head. He was a rich businessman who ran a hedge fund and he was looking to make some extra cash. His name was William (call me Bill) Wood. He felt a little bad about using his brother's name but it was easy to remember.
"Try and look less terrified Ron" Zaima said through his ear piece
"I'm not"
"You are a horrible actor then" Lyra responded "hey, Neville, was he alway this bad?"
"Not when we were in the DA" Neville muttered
"Guys, it's almost 8, cut the chit chat" Grey said sharply "pay attention to the door Wealsey. He's gonna be here any minute"
"Got it" Ron stared at the door for what felt like forever, before a tall burly man walked in. There was a woman with him. She was older than he was, but not by much. She had to be in her late 20 or early 30s. She had an ombré black and silver bob and icy blue eyes. The man saw Ron from across the room and walked towards him.
"This is the guy, be ready" the inspector said over the ear piece. He sat down across to him and sat down
"I am Count Drakul" he shook Ron's hand. The woman with him took a chair that a bartender had offered. "And this is Ifera," he introduced the woman. His bodyguards stood behind him
"William Wood, but everyone calls me Bill"
"You wanted to talk about a business endeavor I assume? Ron noticed a rune on the woman's wrist.
"Yes"
"And you wanted to talk with the boss, if I remember correctly."
"Yes but that's not you is it?" Ron said confidently
"Weasley!"
"What the hell does he think he is doing?!"
"Oh my god Ron"
"What makes you say that?" Drakul asked
"The rune on her wrist. My girlfriend's been teaching me. It means fire leader. Like the Afire"
"Welp, He's gonna die"
Drakul's stone face turned to a smile. He started laughing. Ron started laughing as well
"Why are we laughing?" Ron asked him
"You are a clever man"
"Huh yeah!" He couldn't wait to tell Hermione. The woman, Ifera leaned forward
"Dame , I should give you more credit I suppose. You are the first man who ever figured it out." She had a Scottish accent. It almost reminded him of Professor McGonagall although her voice was much more melodic. "So tell me what did you have in mind?"
"I work for a hedge fund, and I have alimony to pay. I'm looking for some extra cash and I know a lot of people who could use a fix"
"Alimony, it's always Alimony" She said
"Well, what do you think?"
"How many new clients can you bring in?"
"At least 50" he lied. He hadn't been told a reasonable number
"Not bad, and they can afford it. You also figured out my little puzzle. But that's not enough. Street level will do better. You can get more for your time"
"You mean the people on the streets"
"Yeah, what else would I mean?"
"But they can't afford it,"
"If you get them hooked, they'll find a way. Take Hari-Anne. She got it from one of her clients. Put a knife in his throat to get it"
"So you want me to get people so hooked that they would kill for it"
"Best way to sell it. And if there's a bad batch, no one notices if they don't come back."
"How often does that happen"
"About once every 3 days" she shrugged. "We have to keep the good stuff for our best clients, the rest can do." He started to feel more than a little bit sick "Why do you have so many questions about our methods anyway?"
"Curious, what if I'm not willing to do it?"
"Wealsey!"
"Then I find someone else, I always do. Does that answer all of your questions?"
"Yeah, that's about it. So, pricing," he asked her
"I'll give you 100 grams for a reduced price of 5000, we'll see how much you can actually sell."
"Do you have it?" This was the important part. He needed to prove she actually had the drugs.
"Sadly i don't," She said with a smile
"What?"
"You are cleverer than I expected Mr. Wealsey, but surely it's not that hard to figure it out?"
"What, Wealsey?"
"Not surprised that Granger is teaching you runes, but didn't think you would be interested. I assumed you were the stupid one."
"Excuse me?" Grey left her post and began walking towards her
"Still playing dumb I see, you know, you, Potter, and Granger, the gryffindor golden trio right? Oh, and you brought Longbottom too" Grey was standing behind Ifera now. She turned and faced Grey
"Senior Agent Grey, Agent Tonk's ex partner. Now, you have nothing on me, and I have everything on you so there is only one way this ends" she grabbed her purse "I leave or you take me in with absolutely nothing incriminating. So, au revoir agents, hopefully we will meet again." She got up as her bodyguards and Drakul followed her. She left the bar without another word.
12 Grimmauld Place, London, EnglandRonald Wealsey and Neville Longbottom returned to their home. It was almost midnight. They both headed to their rooms. They made their way to the second floor. Just then, Harry Potter left the room at the end of the hall. Ron turned a shade of red that neither of them had ever seen before.
"What the hell were you doing in my sister's room, Potter" Ron growled
"I was just checking on her, Ron" Harry backed away slowly from the sheer force of Ron's anger "how was the case?"
"You would know if you were there" Ron snarled
"Not good" Neville shook his head
"What happened?"
"The cartel leader, Dame Ifera, knew who we were"
"How is that possible?"
"Don't know, Grey's gonna have us figure out who she really is so we can get ahead of her" Ron was still seething besides them
"Y'know what, maybe it would have turned out better if we had more manpower there, but someone was too busy snogging my sister!" Ron yelled, his face was as red as his hair.
"Ginny needed me, so I was here, and besides you didn't get hurt did you?" Harry said, his own anger rising
"We needed you too," Ron yelled. Due to the noise. Ginny stepped out of her bedroom. Her eyes were puffy and red. Hermione and Luna came down and were standing on the staircase, leaning on the railing.
"I was having a panic attack, Ron. Gwenog called him. He was just leaving me for the night" Ginny said quietly. Ron, however neither acknowledged her presence or her words.
"You don't know if it could have made a difference. I had to be here" Harry yelled back
"Yeah, but then we couldn't take down Ifera, and now she can sell her shit. She kills and disposes of at least one person every 3 days. That's 10 people a month." Ron took a step closer to Harry
"What do you want me to do Ron? Use a time turner and go and grab her? I made a call that I needed to be here" Harry stepped closer too. They were only a foot apart. Ron was looking down at Harry, glaring. Harry was looking up and glaring
"Yeah, well who knows how many months until we get her? This time it took three years. That's 360 families missing a person"
"So you're blaming me for this?" Ron didn't respond, he just glared. Harry looked towards the wall and shook his head. "Well maybe if you didn't let her get away then those people wouldn't have to die" Ron took a step closer, his hand curled into a fist. He looked ready to punch Harry. Neville stepped forward and pushed both of them back. Hermione ran over to Ron and Ginny ran over to Harry. Luna stood in the middle with Neville.
"Enough you two" Ron just shook his head and stormed off to his room
"Ron, come back," Hermione called after him. Harry shook his head and walked towards his own room. "Harry, please". Two doors slammed, leaving 4 friends in the hall unsure of how to bring the other two together.
