Draoidh University, London, England
Hermione Granger landed in Andromeda's apparition station. She walked through the secret room to Andromeda's office. She had been in Andromeda's office many times but never this early. She looked through the door to see if anyone was in the office. Andromeda looked up from her papers and removed her reading glasses.
"Hermione? It's only 11. Shouldn't you be at the ministry?"
"Sorry professor I-" She choked on the sob she had been trying to hold back
"Hey, Hermione, it's ok. Take a seat" Hermione sat down in one of the cushioned arm chairs. She finally let the tears slip down her face. Andromeda took out her wand and quickly heated up water. She added it to two mugs along with tea bags. She offered Hermione a cup. Hermione took it and held it tight. Andromeda waited for Hermione to begin
"Is Teddy here?"
"No, One of Tonk's old friends is watching Teddy today. So what happened?"
"I don't know how much I've told you about my boss at the ministry"
"Well, I've gleaned from conversations with you, Luna and Harry that he is a sexist pig"
"Yeah, he called me into his office today. He accused me of bullying my bill through the ministry"
"I'm assuming you didn't"
"Of course not. Kingsley backed it but that was all. It turned into him telling me I didn't deserve to work in the ministry and implied that I lied about what I did in the war."
"Well how did you respond?"
"I told him I was a soldier, not a glorified babysitter. Then I called him a sexist"
"Good. But you could of used something stronger"
"I called my co-workers pieces of shit and him a racist sexist pig"
"Better"
"Thanks"
"So what about this upset you. I didn't think insults like that could get under your skin"
"He called me a mudblood" Andromeda took a sharp breath. Someone knocked on her door.
"I'm sorry, Hermione," Andromeda said as she got up to answer the door. She opened it to see Icarus behind the door
"Hey Professor, just want to let you know that I'm going to take off for my lunch break early. Anna and Rena planned to go out-" Anna and Serena poked their heads into view behind him.
"Hermione?" Anna asked
"Your here early" said Serena
"Girls I don't think now is the time-"
"Hey Hermione, are you ok?" Icarus asked
"Not really," she shrugged. Anna rushed over and embraced Hermione.
"Is there anything we can do to help?" Serena asked
"Getting away for a little bit might help" She looked back at Andromeda for permission. She nodded
"We can go to the Owl" Icarus suggested
"That sounds great" Hermione forced a smile. They found their usual booth and sat. Icarus ordered coffee for the table when the waitress arrived. Hermione sat silently. She noticed the rest of their eyes firmly on her. Icarus quietly put his arm around her for support. Hermione tiene stiffed. He moved his arm off of her. The 3 friends looked at each other trying to figure out what to do.
"Do you want to tell us what happened?" Serena asked
"You don't have to if you don't want to" Anna interjected. Hermione thought about it for a moment
"My boss called me a slur so I stormed out of the office" She said. Icarus's draw dropped
"He did what?" Anna asked
"He called me into his office to discuss my work. He accused me of lying about my school accomplishments. It got rather heated and I called him a sexist pig. Then he called me a slur"
"Did you report him?" Asked Icarus
"I didn't think too much at the moment. I just wanted to get out of their"
"Is there any time you could?" asked Anna
"Not until after midterms" Hermione shrugged
"If you need, we can go with you to report him. For moral support you know" Serena offered
"Thanks guys, but I can handle it." She smiled. Meeting with Kingsley didn't particularly bother her. "What I do need help with is studying for our history final"
"Speaking of the History final" Anna grinned at Icarus "Do you have the answers?"
"No comment" Icarus laughed
"C'mon" Anna pleaded
"No way"
"You are the worst"
"I know," Hermione and Serena laughed. They did however need to get took out their books and got to work
