Arianna didn't not expect the day to go the way it had gone. She wasn't sure if she wanted Starr to know. It was a lot to swallow and Ari just wasn't sure it was worth worrying her over. She had thought the aliens would be out of her house sooner. Not that she particularly minded Sideswipe being there and while Sunstreaker was aggressive, he didn't seem like he intended her harm...at least without provocation.
Regardless of all the ways that Starr could have found out, walking in on some stranger dissolving into little electricity sparks was not the ideal one. Ari couldn't really blame Starr for bolting out with a simple 'Nope'. But the mechanic couldn't just let her friend go after seeing something that she could explain.
"Starr!" She called after the woman. Did she expect that her friend would turn around and not run away? Well, yes. Yes she did. She turned to Sides. "Stay here." She took off running after her friend. "Starr, stop running!"
"No, I want nothing to do with whatever is going on in there." the brunette said, running faster.
"I can't believe you are making me run after you. Are you five years old? Come face the problem woman?" Ari said as she got close enough to grab the woman around her slim waist. "Gottcha."
"James!" Starr yelled, reaching out for the older man that had just walked out his back door. He looked up to see his black haired mechanic hauling his secretary back towards the house. "Help me!" she cried, extending her hand towards the gruchy old man. He merely looked at them and then turned around and went back inside with a casual, "I don't wanna know." thrown over his shoulder.
"Stop flailing or you are gonna make me drop you." Ari complained, dragged her friend back into the garage. Inside Sides stood with his passenger door open and a gesture to deposit the squirming girl into the car. Ari did just that too and nodded to the male.
With Starr securely in the car, Sides briefly told Ari that they could finish this discussion at the forest she first had him go to. Pleased to have a semi plan in mind the mechanic gestured to the other side of the car as if asking permission and Sides nodded. Ari sat down in the driver's seat with Starr frowning heavily at her from the side. "You plan on explaining to me how a stranger just Poofed," The brunette made a vague explosion gesture with her hands. "Into blue confetti like some party favor?"
"Yeah, but it's gonna be a lot to handle." As soon as she had finished the sentence, the seatbelts shot out and buckled around the two girls and the car started without anyone inside. "Sides!" Came an indignant squawk from Ari.
"What the hell is going on?" The scream from her friend was terrified. Starr kicked out at the dashboard as she struggled against the belt that held fast.
"Primus, femme." A voice came through the radio, Sides' voice. "Calm down that hurts."
Instead of calming down the brunette screamed louder and pressed herself into the seat. "Alright the joke was funny but can we just laugh and go on with life? I won't even ask how you made the guy vanish."
"Starr. It's okay. I know this is a little scary but I promise that you'll be okay."
"That." The secretary yelled, pointing an accusing finger in her best friend's face. "That right there makes me feel like this is something bad and you are getting into things you have no business in."
The car slid smoothly to a stop in the field that Ari and Sides had used that month and a half ago. Ari got out and walked around to her best friend who still hadn't moved from the car. She had also been surprised to see Sunstreaker's alt form parked just at the edge of the field. She ignored it in favor of holding her hand out to her friend. "Do you trust me?"
Starr stared hard at her childhood friend, the woman who she had literally grown up with. Her mind raced thinking of all the things that Ari had got into but while there were a lot of things she was rarely dragged into them so she sighed. "No." The words might have been a negative but Starr put her hand in Ari's regardless. "Alright tell me how you guys did your voodoo."
"Okay, but I need you to keep an open mind. So Sides and the man you saw, Sunstreaker…" She was cut off by a laugh from Starr.
"What kind of a name is Sunstreaker?" The angry roar of an engine came from the side of the clearing where the yellow Lamborghini was parked.
"It's a name. Anyways, they aren't really human. The form of Sides you have been seeing is called his holoform; it is this physical projection of, well, a human. He is actually this car." Ari gently patted the top of Sideswipe's hood and looked to her friend. "They are aliens from like space." She shrugged lamely knowing that she was sounding crazy.
After a long moment, where Starr looked at the woman in front of her, she finally spoke. "Did you hit your head?"
"No." Ari turned to the car. "Do you wanna step in here?"
There wasn't a verbal answer. Gears began to hiss and grind as Sideswipe transformed from car to mech. Starr was quiet as this happened and then screamed. She grabbed the mechanic and tried bolting with her but Ari was much stronger than her and remained in that spot. "Starr! It is Sides."
"No, That...That is a robot. That isn't the trouble maker that has been sleeping on our couch." She yelled as she stumbled away. "That is too much vodka on too little food. It's going to crazy town without a pass."
"Starr…" But Ari couldn't get a word in edgewise as her friend backed up further and continued to mutter.
Sides crouched down beside Ari, it had been the first time she had seen him in this form since they met and Ari wondered if she would ever get used to the sheer size of the mech. She barely came up to his knee if that. "You think she is taking it well?"
Ari sighed. "I mean it could be worse." the woman looked over to where Sunstreker had transformed and was glowering at the world around him. "Is your brother always like that?"
"Sunny doesn't like getting dirty." Sides optics glanced between the two females every so often.
"Chrystal." Arianna shouted as she approached her friend. "Come on, I mean, is it surprising? Yes, but you can't really deny that it's happening."
"No, you." The brunette jabbed a finger at Ari in anger. "You promised that you weren't going to get in any more trouble."
"I mean, they haven't really been any trouble. They just need a few weeks to rest up and then Sides said they would be well enough to…do whatever it is that they are here for."
"Can you promise me that this won't cause any more trouble?" Starr asked in defeat.
Ari smiled and replied without hesitation. "I promise."
