Emma didn't want to open her eyes when she first woke up in the morning she was afraid to find that it was all just one very happy dream, but she could feel the warm body in her arms sleeping with its head resting on her chest and soft skin against hers, she could hear Regina's steady breathing and she could still smell the heady scent of their mixed arousal in the air smiling contentedly Emma held the sleeping woman in her arms closer knowing that it was all real.
Then Regina began to stir and Emma opened her eyes to find brown eyes looking up at her and perfect lips formed into a dazzling smile,
"Morning" Emma whispered leaning down to kiss her, Regina grinned back at her just basking in the moment until Emma's alarm started to blare, hitting the snooze option Emma rolled back close to Regina snuggling in not wanting to separate just yet, but at the third blare of the alarm they had no choice, they needed to get ready and go for breakfast or they would be forced to go without and given the appetite that they had both built from their late night activities neither felt that, that was an option so very reluctantly they unwound their arms from around one another and rolled out of the cosy depths of the bed with Regina heading into her bathroom and Emma hurrying back into her own room.
Emma couldn't control the huge grin on her face as she stepped under the hot cascading water of her shower, she was in love with Regina and against all the odds Regina felt the same about her, last night had been one of the best of Emma's life and she couldn't have felt happier that morning if she tried, she felt like she was in a bit of a dream as she soaped up her body and lathered her hair, standing under the water until the suds were all gone and the water ran clear.
She was just slipping her shoes on when a soft knocking sounded on her door,
"I couldn't wait any longer" Regina smiled from the other side when Emma opened it to find her standing there, she pushed Emma further into the room closing the door behind her and pulling Emma close, kissing her with a fiery passion,
"And now" she grinned when they finally broke for air "It's time for breakfast"
They made their way up to sky carriage hand in hand and Regina gave Emma another gentle kiss before they parted ways and sat opposite each other to eat. Emma knew that she had the worlds stupidest grin on her face as she sat across from Regina, but she was so happy right now that she just didn't care,
"You know if you get off the train looking like that in Toronto everybody is going to know that somethings changed between us" Regina laughed
"Don't we want them to know then" Emma frowned confused
"All in good time Miss Swan" Regina winked "but I had rather thought maybe you'd like to break the news to Granny and Ruby yourself when we get home rather than let them find out from some magazine because I know that Ruby reads everything either one of us in these days" she chuckled,
"Oh, shit Ruby, now I owe her fifty bucks, she's going to gloat like hell over this" Emma pouted
"You made a bet on us" Regina arched an eyebrow intrigued "but I thought that you didn't believe I liked you that way" she teased,
"I didn't" Emma sighed "and it was only a little one" she raised her hand thumb and index hovering close together "Ruby insisted that you were interested in me, she wouldn't shut up about it and she ended up betting that we would end up together before season one was done filming" Emma confessed "I told her that she was being ridiculous and that this would be the easiest money that I'd ever earned" she finished shaking her head with a chuckle,
"Well, you know we don't have to say anything yet" Regina replied eyes twinkling with mischief, "it could be fun being a secret for longer than Toronto, you could tell her that you kissed me at the end of season party when technically season one will be done, I won't tell if you don't" Regina laughed,
"As tempting as that sounds, I think I'd rather just come clean anyway as much fun as I'm sure it's going to be sneaking around the hotel in Toronto, I'm not sure that I can keep this a secret for that long, I already want to shout it from the rooftops" she beamed and Regina's laughter grew,
"So, we're agreed then" Regina sought confirmation once they had calmed down, we keep things on the down low until we get back to Storybrooke then after you've told your family and I've told mine we'll just be us together and let everyone else work it out for themselves"
"Works for me" Emma shrugged happily.
That night Emma didn't even go back to her room she went straight into Regina's with her and followed her into her shower, it was a bit of a squash but boy was it worth it. Emma's hand slammed into the wall as she shook through her second orgasm biting down on Regina's bare shoulder, shea scented suds running down both of their bodies and then it was Regina's turn, Emma practically worshipped her body running her hands over olive skin dripping with water and taking a nipple gently between her teeth eliciting a sensuous moan from Regina as she did, her lips trailed down Regina's abdomen, she found her way onto her knees the smell of Regina's sweet arousal filling her senses as she looked up to meet eyes black with desire.
She had thought that they would just sleep when they eventually fell into bed warm skin against warm skin, but something seemed to have been awoken in Regina because she was insatiable, and it would be hours before they finally fell asleep together bodies slick with sweat, but both thoroughly sated and far too exhausted to do anything about it that night,
"I can't wait for our morning shower" was the last thing that Emma heard pass from Regina's lips before she fell into a sound and dreamless sleep.
The following morning marked the final day of their train ride by the time that they woke up the following day they would be only hours away from their destination, but they still had today.
Today was filled with laughter, kisses, whispered I love yous, Emma spent the afternoon in her seat finishing her sketch of Regina by the lake in Banff while Regina nodded off over her book. Dinner was some fancy French cuisine, Emma presented Regina with her latest completed artwork over dessert and when they fell into bed that night, they just held each other shared more sweet kisses contentedly falling asleep in each other's arms.
At first Emma couldn't place the noise that had woken her all she knew was that it was loud,
"Whazzat?" Regina slurred sleepily as she too stirred,
"It's raining" Emma replied, eyes on the window where she'd finally located the source of the noise, watching the rain hammering at it in wonder, "I bet that would look awesome from upstairs" she said jumping up eagerly,
"You can't go up there now it's" Regina grabbed her phone to look at the time" two-thirty in the morning" she groaned rolling over and snuggling deeper into the warm blankets "come back to bed" she pleaded,
"I'll be back soon" Emma promised slipping her flats on ready to go "I just really wanna see what the rain looks like from up there while I have the chance" she smiled reaching for the door,
"Wait" Regina grumbled swinging her legs out of bed and halting Emma's progress "If you're going, I'm coming with you" she said "I just need to use the bathroom first"
"You don't have to come you know" Emma chuckled "you can just use the bathroom then go back to bed if you'd rather"
"I know" Regina called back through the open bathroom door "but I want to come, besides I'm up now and I doubt I'd be able to sleep until you got back so I may as well come watch some rain with you"
"Okay" Emma called back secretly really pleased, she smiled over at the mess of blankets on the bed wating for them to return to and on a whim grabbed the topmost throw taking it with them when they left their room a few minutes later,
"Why are you bringing a blanket" Regina whispered as they crept down the silent hallway, "you're not planning on sleeping up there are you?"
"Course not, I just thought it would be cosy" Emma whispered back with a shrug,
Even at this late hour there was still a member of staff manning the deserted bar just in case anyone wandered along during the night looking for refreshments, he nodded and smiled at them as they passed not mentioning anything about the train issue blanket that Emma was carrying along with them.
Emma was right the view from the sky carriage had been worth their late night wanderings, they lay back in the seats heads resting together and blanket wrapped around them both watching the rain lashing against the glass, running in torrents down the domes sides, rumbles of thunder were followed by flashes of lighting that lit up the cloudy night sky, now this Emma who had always been a fan of thunder storms thought is the way to watch a storm,
"Where are you going" Regina asked sleepily when Emma suddenly got up,
"Nowhere, I just want to take some photo's" Emma assured her holding up her phone for Regina to see, when she was done, she looked back to see that Regina had nodded off she looked so cute snuggled in the blanket sleeping peacefully that Emma couldn't resist lifting her phone to take a final photo before moving back to Regina's side to gently wake her up,
"Time to go back to bed" she murmured kissing her awake,
Regina mumbled then yawned and stretched, catching Emma's lips in a slow lingering kiss before getting up and leading the way back downstairs,
"Let's stop for a night cap" Regina smiled at the barman and ordered two double brandy's on the rocks handing one to Emma who took a sip enjoying the burn as the amber liquid slid down her throat and created a warm glow in her stomach,
"Here's to the perfect ending to our perfect trip" Regina grinned chinking her glass against Emma's, they downed the rest of their drinks in one, slamming their empty glasses down onto the bar when they were done, Regina proudly declared herself the winner when her glass hit the deck a split second before Emma's then they wished the barman good night and headed back to Emma's room where they quickly snuggled down for their final few hours' of sleep.
Packing their bags straight after breakfast the next morning they took them with them to their seats, sliding them into the gaps underneath securing them out of their way while they watched the scenery roll by until it was time to get off of the train, when it pulled into its final stop at Toronto station Emma and Regina remained seated while the rest of the train emptied, stealing some last minute kisses when they were the last ones left in first class, Regina had already text Sidney to let him and Jefferson in on her plan not to get straight off with the crowd so they were sitting tight down in economy waiting for the hallways to clear so that they could make their way unhindered to first class where Regina and Emma were currently entwined in each other in no hurry to get off.
They sprang apart when the door knocked quickly checking their reflections in one of the trains windows before they grabbed their bags and opening the door to find the two security guards waiting impatiently on the other side.
The platform was still heaving with people when they dismounted, and they had to force their way through to get out of the station and into the car that was taking them to their hotel.
They were both disappointed that the train ride had come to an end, but they were also eager to see their new accommodation.
Emma let out a low whistle as they stepped in the foyer, this place was posh, hers and Regina's rooms were next door to each other as usual and they were up to their usual high standards, beautiful big beds and even little balconies that they could see each other from, Emma thought that it would probably be easy enough to climb from one to the other and if they weren't eight floors up she might have tried but no way she was risking it from this height.
Emma would have liked to take some time to make herself comfortable but they didn't even have time to unpack before they were wanted at the local hospital to shoot scenes, it was understandable she supposed after all they had just spent six days relaxing on the train and at least she figured as she slid into the car behind her, she would get to spend today working with Regina, tomorrow however would be a little different Emma would finally be meeting the actors that had been cast to play Leah's adopted family and she would spend a week working with them before she got to film anymore scenes with her girlfriend.
They were met just inside the main entrance by a lady holding a clip board who briefly scanned her notes before leading them to the sectioned off rooms that they would be filming in today. Gold immediately directed to them to their marks and signalled for the cameras to start rolling, Emma and Regina accompanied by little Charlie and Hailee the actress who was playing Isabella's sister entered the room each of them flawlessly slipping into character and delivering their lines perfectly,
Regina and Emma moved closer to the bed closing the curtain around them leaving Charlie and Hailee on the other side, they continued to talk while Regina changed into a hospital gown a single camera man stood in the corner with his camera fixed on them while a second camera on a long crane like device filmed them from above, capturing what was supposed to be a private moment for Isabella and Leah to share, once Regina had climbed into the bed Emma pushed the curtains open for Charlie and Hailee to move in closer until Isabella's anxiety began to grow and her sister took that as her cue to leave taking the little boy with her while Leah remained behind to comfort the emotional woman.
It was heart wrenching acting those scenes sitting next to Isabella's hospital bed, Isabella was the patient, but it was Emma's Regina lying there looking vulnerable and afraid, tears rolling down her face as she silently confessed Isabella's deepest fears to Emma who tried to reassure and support her a giant lump forming painfully in her throat at the mere distressing sight of Isabella's anguish on Regina's face, When Leah's tears fell they were just as much Emma's as they were her characters.
Feeling emotionally exhausted when they were finished filming Emma was glad when they were trapsing through the hotel lobby looking forward to dinner.
"Mess up you bed up and grab your bag for this week then meet me out here in five" Regina instructed mysteriously as they approached their rooms,
Intrigued by what Regina had planned Emma was quick to follow her instructions stepping back out of her room to meet Regina in hallway only a few minutes later, she half expected to be invited into Regina's room but wasn't entirely surprised when Regina joined her with a bag of her own.
She led Emma to the elevator turning the key in a lock inside and smiled at Emma as the lift ascended,
"Welcome to our room" Regina announced when the lift doors opened
"Woah" Emma exclaimed stepping out into the penthouse suite,
"Golds budget doesn't stretch to this but mine does so I upgraded but I made sure that no one knew that you'd be staying up here with me, if you mess your bed up every night and maybe scatter some of your dirty clothes about the place and screw some towels up before you come up here, the cleaners will go in to tidy up and nobody will suspect a thing " Regina smiled leaning in to press a gentle kiss on Emma's lips,
"You are so devious" Emma purred following Regina into the bedroom "and I love it"
After they had worked up an even bigger appetite Regina ordered dinner via room service, then they showered separately deciding that it was best to avoid temptation seeing as they wanted to be quick and feeling refreshed they met in the dining area to eat, leaving the trolley with their dirty dishes outside the elevator door hanging a do not disturb sign from a nearby hook before retreating to the main bedroom to sleep.
