"This is a wonderful view, ain't it, love?"

It was the evening of Lekona's forty-fourth birthday, and after a nice day of high fives, hugs, and heaps of birthday noogies, he was finally out on a peaceful stroll through Kirkcaldy with his lovely wife.

Down by the coast of Peterhead, Lekona and Blythe sat by the cliff to watch the sun set and the waves crash.

"That's a lovely shade of orange," quipped Blythe.

"Aye. It's like a peach cobbler," said Lekona.

Blythe turned to her husband. "You really love that job of yours, don't ye?"

"Yup. Got myself a room, some friends, and some neat gadgets. What else could I ask for?"

Blythe smiled, and continued to watch the sun sink into the ocean.

Lekona's face suddenly became serious. "I hope the wee lass is alright."

"What d'you mean?" Blythe turned to him again.

"Deborah. She had a big spat with her father the other day. She's been mighty mopey since."

Blythe put her paw over Lekona's. "That girl loves you like an uncle. If you give her the support she needs, she'll get through this like a champ."

Lekona smiled, and looked up at the sky. The sun was gone, and the sky was now a deep shade of blue. He and Blythe stood up, and seeing the opportunity sparkle, started a dance.

Gliding across the grass, Lekona spun Blythe around, and she elegantly swung her leg to regain her posture. They held paws and skipped towards the middle of the land. Lekona dipped Blythe down, and they shared a passionate kiss as the stars began to come out above them.

"Oh, Blythe," said Lekona smoothly, "you always know how to make a birthday fun."
