Disclaimer: Woop, another flashback chapter!
This time around, we're going to get a little more focus on Kwazii's old pirate crew (Captain Argo, Meg, and Finch).
Because this chapter takes place prior to Kwazii's coming out, he will be referred to with female pronouns (she/her). I guess it's misgendering, but during the time period this takes place in, those would have been the correct pronouns…*shrug*
Also, the perspective will be designated via the little jumble-of-letter-separator-thingy.

T'was a fine day fer sailin' seas. I was out on th' waters with me crew, when I spied Meg an' Finch leanin' over th' side of th' boat, watchin' the waves. "What ye be doin'?" I asked.
"I can see a beautiful coral reef down there," Finch told me, cooin' like a li'l lass. "It's so tall, with such lovely colours."
I stroked me beard. I never did see a coral reef before, and I was mighty curious about what they were lookin' at. I lean'd down and looked at th' sea. I couldn't see no coral reef down there; they do say Finch has th' best eyes this side of th' Atlantic.
"I want to get a better look," said Meg, steppin' back and leapin' out into the water. If Finch had th' best eyes, then Meg has th' most a'venture.

Under the water, I could see the truest glory of the reef. Little fishes flitted around everywhere, and tiny snails slugged along. And the colours; oh, the colours! Green here, yellow there, and pink everywhere! It was one of the best things I've ever seen.
I reached into my pocket and took out a purple shell. I always picked up seashells from beaches to put back into the sea. I hid it amongst a cluster of other shells and rocks.
I wish I could have stayed there forever, but I'm not amphibious, so I went back up to the surface to get some air and re-board the boat.

"Well?" I asked Meg as soon as she had shaken the last of the sea water out of her fur. "How was it?"
"Wonderful," I gushed.
"One day, I'm gonna dive down there and fight some sea monsters!" Kwazii chirped, throwing a few punches. I chuckled. Kwazii loved nothing more than to talk about the sea monsters that her grandfather told her stories about. I just know she's going to do amazing things one day.

Don't you love when chapters taking place in the past directly foreshadow current events?
