He wailed in panic as he saw the rocks beneath him come closer and closer. After how well he did today, after all the good that happened, he guessed it was a matter of time before he got jinxed. He felt tears well up in his eyes.
Suddenly, his fall had abruptly came to a halt. He found himself suspended by the rope. Then he gradually began to ascend. The rocks grew further and further away from him. When he made it back to the top of the cliff's edge he was greeted by a familiar face. "Chief! Clown! Oh, thank good-"
"What are you even doing out here?" Chief interrupted.
"You know it ain't safe to go bungee jumping at midnight, right?" Clown said.
"I wasn't bungee jumping, I was... I was... Okay, fine! I was gathering these flowers for a potion I was going to make."
"Since when have you been making potions again? And why are you getting stuff for it so late?" Chief asked as she glared at him with suspicion.
"Well... um... they're night blooming?"
"What?"
"The flowers bloom at night.- Yeah!- And, er, I could only harvest them when they're in full bloom." Shaman explained.
"Hmm... okay... then why didn't you ask for our help?" Shaman paused scanning his brain for another clever excuse. "...Well?" Chief prodded. He couldn't hold it in no further.
"I've come out so late because I was paid by Tobe to make a potion for hi-"
"Wait, forTobe?" Cheif interrupted. Shaman nodded, yes. "Then why didn't you say so before, we would have gladly helped?"
"Especially if it meant profit!" Clown included.
"I was getting to that. You see, he wanted me to keep this order on the down-low."
"What kind of potion must it be for him to want to keep it secret?" Clown wondered.
"I think I've said enough. Now, that you know, will you help me out."
"Anything for Tob- I mean anything for a friend!" Chief said as she and Clown grabbed the cord of Shaman's robe harness. "You ready?" She asked Shaman.
"Ready!" Then Chief and Clown firmly held the rope as Shaman began to carefully climb down.
