It was early the next morning and all Tyler women were awake.
Jackie Tyler was giving rose some job options as her current job has just been blown up.
the old cat flap on the door rattled and rose looked at Abby.
"don't look at me"
" Mum, you're such a liar. I told you to nail that cat flap down. We're going to get strays"
"I did it, weeks back. Abby, you were there"
"Was that the day Howard came around mum with that fruit basket"
"I believe so"
"then yeah she had it done"
"stop covering for her"
Rose was at this point by the door looking at the screws on the floor by the cat flap. she held one up towards Abigail.
"now that's a new one"
the cat flap then moves to make both girls jump. Rose opens it carefully and on the other side, there seems to be a man, trying to look through.
Rose jumps up and opens the door.
the man quickly jumps up and asks
"What're you doing here?"
"I live here."
"Well, what do you do that for?"
"because I do. I'm only at home because someone blew up my job."
"hang on" Abigail interrupts opening the door more so she could see. "is this who you were talking about last night"
the Doctor continued as if he didn't hear her "I must have got the wrong signal. You're not plastic, are you? No, bonehead. Bye, then."
Rose then grabbed him and pulled at him "You. Inside. Right now"
Abigail once again could feel the cold shiver and headache begin again not as bad as the night before but it was there niggling at her. but she pushed through it, intrigued by this mystery man.
they walked past their mum's room she turned and asked
"Who is it?"
Rose shouted back to her mum
"It's about last night. He's part of the inquiry. Give us ten minutes."
"She deserves compensation."
"Oh, we're talking millions."
"I'm in my dressing gown."
"Yes, you are."
Abigail could see where this conversation was going a could help but a have a little chuckle to herself
"mum no, please"
Jackie carried on as if she didn't hear her
"there's a strange man in my bedroom."
Abigail looked at the doctor and mouthed I'm sorry as she began to turn red embarrassed for her mother the doctor quickly caught her eye and give her a slight smile before turning back to Jackie
"yes, there is."
"Well, anything could happen."
"No."
the Doctor called off towards the living room but Abigail couldn't keep the laughter in any further as she could just see her mother's unimpressed face as she walked past.
"oo shush you"
this caused further laughter from Abigail.
she continued to walk behind the doctor not paying attention to where she was going until she bumped into something solid and realised it was him.
"sorry" she quickly muttered just loud enough so he could hear it. but not loud enough that he could hear the sharp intake she took as a sharp shooting pain went through her arm right to her head.
Rose turned to Abigail
" you okay"
"Yeah fine, just need painkillers ill be back."
she could feel the Doctor's eyes on her back till she made it to the other room where she stood for a few minutes to catch her breath and calm down to take her tablets. she couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong.
she walked backed into the room where Rose was just leaving to make some coffee
she sat down and just watched this strange man flaunt around her living room till he stopped in front on the mirror. she could hear him say
"Ah, could've been worse. Look at the ears."
Abigail just looked at him for some reason unable to take her eyes off him untill he picked until the card went everywhere. Abigail just sat and chuckled to herself looking at this strange man in her living room.
the cat flap rattled again.
the Doctor turned to abigial and asked
"What's that, then? You got a cat?"
"no, we did but that was a while ago, just strays now, im gonna see if Rose needs a hand"
she give the doctor a small smile as she stood up to.walk out the kitchen.
"you okay" Rose asked.
"yeah, im fine, justbone of those feeling you know that something gonna happen. you okay."
"yeah fine me"
they both walked back into the living carrying cups of coffee, Abigail carried on walking to drop if a coffee to her mam in the other room, unaware of what was happening in the living room.
when she returned she found the doctor trying to pry the mannequins arm off her sisters face.
"what the hell is going on"
The Doctor pulls at it, pulling Rose down on top of him as they fall onto the coffee table and smash it. Jackie is using her hairdryer and hears nothing. The Doctor finally gets it off Rose with his sonic screwdriver, then jabs the device into its palm. The fingers stop flexing.
"it's all right, I've stopped it. There you go, you see? harmless."
"you think"
Rose threw the arm back at the doctor
the Doctor practically sprinted out the door and down the stair case of the flats steps.
"wait!.. wait!" we shouted after him.
"we need to you to explain whats going on, who are you"
"Told you. The Doctor."
"Yeah, but Doctor what?"
"Just the Doctor."
pain slowly begin to fill Abigail head and flashes of an orange and red began to fill her head as the pain intensified.
she took deep breathes as she looked up at the Doctor who was already looking at her with a confused look on his face
"just a headache" Abby explained
"some headache"
"so The Doctor" Abby said with a forced grin on her face trying to change to subject
"Hello!" he said with a wave and big grin.
"is that supposed to sound impressive?" Abigail asked with a grin on her face no longer forced and she let out a little chuckle
"Sort of"
their eyes met for a brief second and a little smile passed between the before their attention was directed elsewhere.
Rose continued "Come on, then. You can tell me. I've seen enough. Are you the police?"
"No, I was just passing through. I'm a long way from home."
"But what have I done wrong? How comes those plastic things keep coming after me?"
"Oh, suddenly the entire world revolves around you. You were just an accident. You got in the way, that's all.:
"It tried to kill me."
"It was after me, not you. Last night, in the shop, I was there, you blundered in, almost ruined the whole thing. This morning, I was tracking it down, it was tracking me down. The only reason it fixed on you is 'cos you've met me."
"So what you're saying is, the entire world revolves around you." Abigail chuckled as she interrupted their conversation.
"Sort of, yeah."
"You're full of it."
"Sort of, yeah."
a smile was shared between the three of them as they continues to walk through the estate.
Abigail continued
"all this plastic stuff. Who else knows about it?"
"No one."
"What, you're on your own?"
Abigail could not help but feel a tug deep in the stomach and feel sorry for the man before her.
"Well, who else is there? I mean, you lot, all you do is eat chips, go to bed, and watch telly, while all the time, underneath you, there's a war going on."
the Doctor continue to explain about the living plastic and what he believes the reason for them being here is.
just looking at Rose you could tell she was entranced by this man, this stranger who was acting soo strange but there was just something about him, something Abigail could not put her finger on it. he was soo familiar yet a complete stranger.
"Do you believe me?"
before Abigail could answer rose answered for them
"No."
"But you're still listening."
"Really, though, Doctor. Tell me, who are you?"
"Do you know like we were saying about the Earth revolving? It's like when you were a kid. The first time they tell you the world's turning and you just can't quite believe it because everything looks like it's standing still."
Abigail interruped him almost as if in a trance.
"you can feel it. The turn of the Earth. The ground beneath our feet is spinning at a thousand miles an hour, and the entire planet is hurtling round the sun at sixty seven thousand miles an hour, and you can feel it. We're falling through space, all of us, clinging to the skin of this tiny little world, That's who you are.
"what the hell was that"
they both stared at her in shock unsure what else to say. the Doctor turned to both of them and said
"Now, forget me, Rose and Abby Tyler. Go home."
The Doctor looks at Abby with a starnge look on his face she turned and looked at the floor. he walks off towards the Tardis with the plastic arm.
Rose and Abby walk off towards another block of flats when there is a rush of air and a strange noise. they turns and runs back, and the Tardis has gone.
they both looked at each other unsure what to say as they walked off.
the next day Rose researched the doctor and was planning to meet with this guy who has been investigating the Doctor
Abigail decided she would.meet up with both Rose and Mickey after she went to visit him.
Abigail rushed into the pizza restraunt and found Mickey and Rose sitting on the table already mid coversation
"sorry I'm late"
"no problem we haven't long got here"
Mickey continue talking "So, where did you meet this Doctor? Because I reckon it started back at the shop, am I right? Was he something to do with that?"
"No" Rose answered, something about Mickey was off Abigail could see it but couldn't understand what.
"Come on," Mickey said
"Sort of," Abby said
"What was he doing there?"
"I'm not going on about it, Mickey. I'm not, because, I know it sounds daft, but I don't think it's safe. I think he's dangerous."
"But you can trust me, sweetheart. Babe, sugar, babe, sugar. You can tell me anything. Tell me about the Doctor and what he's planning, and I can help you, Rose and you Abby Because that's all I want to do, sweetheart, babe, babe, sugar, sweetheart"
"what's going on, Mickey what's up with you tonight," Abby asked full of concern.
this waiter then kept coming over and asking if they wanted champagne, they kept advising him it wasn't theirs until Abby looked up and a smile entered her face
the Doctor was back.
The Doctor shook the bottle and then releases the cage around the cork and it flies into Mickey's forehead. After a few moments, he spits it out and they realised this wasn't mickey at all. plastic Mickey.
Plastic Mickey gets up and turns his hand into a chopper. Rose and Abby take a few steps back as Mickey wrecks the table. The Doctor grabs the Auton and pulls off its head. The rest of the customers in the restaurant scream.
The body gets up and starts flailing around. Rose sets off the fire alarm
both Abby and Rose shout " everyone out now"
Rose, Abby and the Doctor run through the kitchens carrying the head, while the body wrecks the restaurant before following them to the back exit
as they close the exit behind them the Doctor unlocks the Tardis and goes inside while the Auton hammers on the metal door, making large dents. Rose runs down the alley, past the Tardis. The end is secured by padlocked gates
Abby just stands in the yard looking at the blue telephone box and that pain comes searing back to her head to the point where she feels like she gonna collapse or that she is unable to move.
Rose tries the gate again and then runs inside the Tardis. She stops, takes one look and runs outside again. A siren is wailing in the distance. She runs around the Tardis then when the Auton finally smashes through the metal door, she grabs Abby's arm and pulls her towards the tardis.
as they get inside rose turns to Abby " you okay, your burning up"
"I'm fine, I'm fine I promise, lets's just get on okay"
"is it gonna follow us," Rose asked the doctor.
"The assembled hordes of Genghis Khan couldn't get through that door, and believe me, they've tried. Now, shut up a minute"
