The conversation could be heard continuing innthe living room with Jackie telling Mickey he could tell her now the information regarding the Doctor.
Mickey chose to ignore her finally and followed Rose and aAbby into the kitchen.
"As i was saying, The Doctor's gone. Just now, that box thing just faded away."
"What do you mean?"
"He's left you. Some boyfriend HE turned out to be."
Rose runs from the kitchen, grabbing a jacket from the back of the door on her way out. Mickey and Abby follows her.
Rose, Abby and Mickey are standing at the spot where the TARDIS was parked.
"He wouldn't just go, he promised me."
"Oh, he's dumped you, Rose. Sailed off into space. How does it feel, huh? Now you are left behind with the rest of us Earthlings. Get used to it."
"But he would have said."
Jackie walks over to them.
"What're you three chimps going on about? What's going on? What's this Doctor done now?"
Mickey chortles and Abby gives his a deathglare but he continues
"He's vamoosed!"
"He's not! 'Cos he gave Rose that!" Abby states
Rose shows him the TARDIS key. Mickey gives a "so what?" sort of shrug.
"He's not her boyfriend, Mickey, he's better than that. He's much more important than..."
abby breaks off as the TARDIS key starts to glow in time with the sound of the TARDIS engines. Jackie stares at the Tardis confused for a moment.
"How'd you do that, then?"
Rose looks at her warily and Abby just rolls .Her eyes at her mother. Abby enters the TARDIS followed by Rose where the Doctor is looking at the computer screen.
"Alright, so I lied! I went and had a look, but the whole crash landing's a fake, I thought so, it's just too perfect. I mean, "hitting Big Ben" come on, so I thought let's go and have a look... "
"Mum's here."
The door creaks open and Jackie and Mickey enter. The Doctor looks around.
"Oh, that's just what I need. Don't you dare make this place domestic!"
"Hey! dont look at me" Abby states
"They thought she was dead. We were murder suspects because of you" Mickey says to the doctor
"Mickey leave it now please, we have been through this so many times tonight just leave it okay"
"See what I mean? Domestic."
The Doctor spins back to face the computer screen. Mickey takes a few steps towards him.
"I bet you don't even remember my name!"
"Ricky."
"It's Mickey."
"No, it's Ricky."
"I think I know my own name."
"You THINK you know your own name? How stupid are you?"
Jackie, who has been looking around the TARDIS with a bewildered expression, turns and runs outside again.
"Mum, don't! Don't go anywhere! Don't start a fight!" Abby points at the doctor and Mickey before running agter her mother
Jackie runs outside and back to the flats. Rose pursues her out of the doors.
"Mum, it's not like that! He's not... I'll be up in a minute, hold on!"
Abby runs back inside the TARDIS and back to the Doctor's side, where he is looking at his monitor again.
"That was a real spaceship?" rRose asks the doctor
"Yep!"
"So, it's all a pack of lies? What is it then, are they invading?"
Mickey is on tip-toes peering at the screen over their shoulders.
"Funny way to invade, putting the world on red alert." Abby says to the doctor
"Good point! So, what're they up to?"
They decided it was probay best to leave the Doctor alone to decide the next step in what to do so they all stepped back.
"Some friend you've got" Mickey states to Rose
"He's winding you up."
Mickey looks slightly upset. He does not answer.
"I am sorry to both of you"
"It's okay." both Abby and Mickey answered
"I am, though!"
"Every day, we looked. On every street corner, wherever we went, looking for a blue box for a whole year. Your sister had to move out"
"Mickey enough please"Abby asks Mickey
"It's only been a few days for me. I don't know, it's... it's hard to tell inside this thing but I swear it's just a few days since I left you."
"Not enough time to miss me, then"
"I did miss you."
"I missed you."
Abby could see where this conversation was going so she left Mickey and Rose alone, god knows it would end up in another countless make out session, as it did so many other time before. Abby walked around the console room, running her hand across the beam
"Hello beautiful" she say to the Tardis
A hum could be felt on her hand. How she missed this ship she looked towars the doctor and she could see him looking at her, she sent him a soft smile and walked toward him
"Need any help"
"Got it, what were you just doing"
"Saying hello to an old friend is all, so you all done"
The Doctor smiled brightly at Abby.
"Patched in the radar, looped it back twelve hours so we can follow the flight of the spaceship, here we go... Come on!. That's the spaceship on it's way to Earth... see? Except... hold on... see, the spaceship did a sling shot round the Earth before it landed."
"What does that mean?" Rose asks
"It means it came from Earth in the first place, it went up and came back down. Whoever those aliens are, they haven't just arrived. They've been here for a while. The question is, what have they been doing?"
The Doctor pulls what looks like a computer screen around to flip through the news channels to see if there was any update.
"How many channels do you get?" Mickey asked
"All the basic packages."
"You get sports channels?"
"Yes, I get the football. Hold on, I know that bloke." The Doctor says as he point to the guy on the screen
Everyone crowd around the screen to get a look and listen to what the news report is saying
"It is looking likely that the government is bringing in alien specialists, those people who have devoted their lives to studying outer space."
"UNIT! United Nations Intelligence Task force, good people"
"How do you know them?"
"Cos he's worked for them. Yeah, don't think I sat on my backside for twelve months, we actually done some research" Abigail says to the Doctor and Rose
Mickey interupts
"We read up on you. You look deep enough on the Internet... and in the history books, and there's his name. Followed by a list of the dead."
"That's nice. Good job bit morbid there hey Ricky"
"If you know them, why don't you go and help?"
"They wouldn't recognize me. I've changed a lot since the old days. Besides, the world's on a knife-edge. There's aliens out there and fake aliens. We want to keep this alien out of the mix. I'm going undercover... and eh, better keep the TARDIS out of site. Rickey! You've got a car - you can do some driving."
They all walk towards the Tardis doors Abby runs her hand along the coral again feeling the hum beneath her fingers. The Doctor looks at her quickly before turning back around.
"Where to?! "
"The roads are clearing. Let's go and have a look at that spaceship."
They step out of the TARDIS to the sound of helicopters. They are immediately caught out by a searchlight.
"Do not move!" someone shouts at them over a loud speaker
Police cars and soldiers surround them, pointing guns and them and preventing their escape. Mickey makes a run for it. Jackie runs out of the flats and tries to get to her daughters but two soldiers restrain her.
"No!"
Mickey is hiding behind some dustbins. The Doctor, Abby and Rose are standing in the centre looking slightly confused in the searchlight.
"Mum what have you done" Abby shouts towards her mother.
"Raise your hands above your head! You are under arrest!"
The Doctor, Abby and rose obey.
"Take me to your leader!" The Doctor says with a big grin and chuckle.
"You just had to didnt you. worst one liner ever ha!" Abby says quietly to the Doctor with a laugh.
Rose clambers into the back of a police car next to the Doctor and Abby. The door shuts and they drive off.
"This is a bit posh. If I knew it was gonna be like this, being arrested, I'd have done it years ago."
"We're not being arrested, we're being escorted!"
"Where to?" Rose asks
"Where'd you think?"
" Downing Street!"
They all laugh
"You're kidding." Rose and Abby exclaims
"I'm not!"
"10 Downing Street?"
"That's the one!"
"Buckle up kid, we off to meet the prime minister. Oo shit!" Abby states in shock
Rose laughs with glee.
"Oh, my God! I'm going to 10 Downing Street?"
The Doctor nods, grinning.
"im guessing Mickey was right. Over the years you have visited this planet a lot of times, and youve been, uh, noticed. and now they need you" Abby says
"Like it said on the news, they're gathering experts in alien knowledge. And who's the biggest expert of the lot?"
He grins expectantly at them both.
The car pulls up outside 10 Downing Street. The paparazzi and hundreds of police men are there. The Doctor gets out of the car and waves at them all, grinning manically. Rose and Abby smiles nervously and they looks up at 10 Downing Street
"Oh my God!"
"Pinch me, This cannot be real"
They follow the Doctor inside. they here a women shouting above the noise in the hall as she walks towards the Doctor
"Ladies and Gentlemen, could we convene? Quick as we can, please. It's this way on the right and can I remind you, ID cards are to be worn at all times. Here's your ID card. I'm sorry, your companions dont have clearance."
"I don't go anywhere without either of them:
The Doctor loops the ID card around his neck.
"You're the code nine, not them."
Another woman sidles up to them as if to listen into their conversation
I'm sorry, Doctor... it is the Doctor, isn't it?t hey will have to stay outside."
"They are staying with me."
"Look, even I don't have clearance to go in there. I can't let them in and that's a fact.
"It's alright, you go we will be fine"
The other woman who we learned was Harriet jones from her name tag appears on Indra's shoulder.
"Excuse me? Are you the Doctor?"
The woman in charge looks positively exasperated. she turns to Harriet
"Not now, we're busy. Can't you go home?"
The Doctor turns to Rose and Abby
"Are you both sure?"
"Yeah, they're the experts, you should hear what they've got to say," Rose says
"I s'pose so. Don't get into any trouble"
"Who? Us? Never!" Abby says with a laugh.
The Doctor follows the other experts into the room. Harriet turns to the woman in charge.
"I just need a word in private Indra"
"You haven't got clearance, now leave it!"
Indra, the woman in charge turns to Rose and Abby
"I'm going to have to leave you both with security."
"It's alright. I'll look after them. Let me be of some use. . Walk with me. Just keep walking... "
They walk past the guards at the door showing their badges
"That's right... don't look around! Harriet Jones, MP Flydale North.T his friend of yours... he's an expert, is that right? Does he know about aliens?
" Why do you wanna know?" Tose asks
Harriet breaks down into tears. Abby takes her arms awkwardly in an attempt to comfort her.
"Follow me," Harriet says between her sobs
Harriet Jones lead them to the cabinet room and showed her body suit of Oliver.
"They turned the body into a suit! A disguise for the thing inside! Bursts into tears again."
Abigail begins to reassure Harriet
"It's alright! we believe you. It's... it's alien. They must have some serious technology behind this... if we could find it..."
Abigail starts searching the room and prompts rose to start helping her, she opens a cupboard and the Prime Minister's body falls out. Rose and Harriet hurry to examine it.
"Oh, my God! Is that...?"
Indra walks in and looks at Harriet
"Harriet, for God's sake! This has gone beyond a joke, you cannot just walk...Oh, my God. That's the Prime Minister!"
A voice is then heard behind Indra and they all turn to face whoever it was. Stood there was a blonde lady, she was a little chubby about medium height. Rose and Abby have no idea who this was.
"Ohh, has someone been naughty"
The lady then proceeds to walk further into the room and close the door behind her.
