Abby, Rose and Harriet slowly take astep back as the women enters the room and closes the door. Indra looks at the body suit again.
"That's impossible. He left this afternoon. The Prime Minister left Downing Street, he was driven away!" she says
The women slowly walks towards Indra
"And who told you that? Hmm?Me."
The women strokes the hair from her forehead. The women reveals what seems to be a zip on her forehead. She pulls her skin suit, revealing herself to the disgust and shock of Indra, Harriet, Abby and Rose
The creature roars in delight and grabs Indra between her claws, pinning her up against the wall. She shouts as she strangles her.
Harriet and Abby turn their heads away unable to watch the scene in front of them. Rose is looking around for a way out of the room.
Suddenly the creature howls as ifs in pain and being to shudder. the creature drop Indras body.
Rose grabs Abbys hand and Abby grabs Harriet. They quickly run from the room.
The women run down the corridors of downing street unsure of where they are going. Harriet stops suddenly
"No, wait! . They're still in there! The emergency protocols! We need them!"
Harriet runs back in the direction of the cabinet room. Rose and Abby share a look as if to decide whether to follow her. The decision is made quietly they both turn and follow her, but they are quickly forced to change direction as the creature comes their way. She chases them. They run across a hallway, Rose closing the door behind them. The creature simply leaps through it. The women arrive back in another room, shutting the door behind them quickly.
They continue to search for a place to his. the run past a lift. Deciding it best not to wait, Rose knees a locked door. The lift pings open, revealing the Doctor. the creature roars at him, and he smiles and nods around at them all.
"Hello!"
The doors shut again, distracting the creature long enough for the women to slip away un-noticed.
They manage to get manage to find a room and close a door behind them but whilst they try the other doors in the room they find they are all locked.
A dead end
"Quick hide" Abby says
They all proceed to find somewhere to hid. Rose hides behind some cabinetss. Harriet chooses to hide behind some screen divider. Abby with hardly any choice left hide behind the sofa.
As Abby gets to her spot, the door open and in steps the creature. The creature begins to speak and looks around the roo.
"Oh, such fun! Little human children... where are you? Sweet little humeykins... come to me... let me kiss you better...kiss you with my big, green lips."
As the creatures looks in the oposite direction to Rose. Rose decides to change her hiding space and goes to hide behind the curtains. As Rose gets into her spot 2 more creatures enter the room. They begin to have a conversation and begin to search the room together
"My brothers."
"Happy hunting?"
"It's wonderful. The more you prolong it, the more they stink."
"Sweat... and fear."
"i can smell an old girl... stale bird... brittle bones."
And two ripe youngsters. All hormones and adrenaline. Fresh enough to bend before they snaps.
With this the creature claws at the curtain Rose was hiding behind, earing a scream from Rose, Abby jumps from her hiding space followed by Harriet.
"No! Stop! take me first, take me please!"
At this moment the Doctor burst through the door holding a fire extinguisher. he shouts.
"Out! with me!" as he starts spraying the extinguisher at the creatures. Rose pulls the curtains down over one of the creatures head and then the women run to stand behind the Doctor. The Doctor looks at Harriet.
"Who the hell are you?"
"Harriet Jones, MP for Flydale North."
"Nice to meet you."
"Likewise."
The Doctor blasts the fire extinguisher again. Then they run for it.
"We need to get to the cabinet rooms!" the doctor shouts.
"The Emergency Protocols are in there! They give instructions on aliens!" Harriet advises the doctor
"Harriet Jones, I like you"
"And I like you too."
"Hey! save the flirting for later, let just get there." Abby shouts with a wink towards the Doctor.
They have no time to close the door, so instead the Doctor picks up a bottle of brandy and hold his sonic screwdriver to it.
"One more move and my sonic device will triplicate the flammability of this alcohol. Whoof! We all go up. So back off."
The creatures hesitate.
"Right then. Question time. Who exactly are the Slitheen?"
"They're aliens." Harriets answers quickly
"Yes. I got that, thanks."
"Who are you, if not human?" the Slitheen ask
"Who's not human?"
"He's not human." Abbys says pointing the finger towards the Doctor
"He's not human?" Harriet says looking towards Rose who shake her head
"Can I have a bit of hush?"
"Sorry." Harriet apologises.
"So, what's the plan?" the Doctor continues speak to the Slitheen
"But he's got a Northern accent." Harriet asks Rose
"Lots of planets have a North." Rose answered
"i said hush. Come on!" the Doctor raises his voice ever so slightly,
He holds the brandy threateningly out in front of him.
"You've got a spaceship hidden in the North Sea. It's transmitting a signal. You've murdered your way to the top of government, what for? Invasion?"
""Why would we invade this God forsaken rock?"
"Then something's brought the Slitheen race here, what is it?"
"The Slitheen race?" the creature asks
"Slitheen is not our species. Slitheen is our surname. Jocrassa Fel Fotch Pasameer Day Slitheen at your service." the other creatures comment
"So, you're family." Abby states looking quickly at the Doctor before looking back at the creatures
"It's a family business."
"Then you're out to make a profit. How can you do that on a "God forsaken rock"?" the Doctor continues
"Ahhh... excuse me? Your device will do what? Triplicate the flammability...?" the Slitheen ask the Doctor
"Is that what I said?"
"You're making it up!"
"Ah, well! Nice try. Harriet, have a drink. I think you're gonna need it."
The Doctor passes the brandy to Harriet.
"Pass it to the left first."
The Doctor hands it to Rose
"Thanks." Rose takes a quick drink before passing it to Abby who passes it straight to Harriet.
"Now we can end this hunt... with a slaughter.
The creature flexes his claws menacingly. The Doctor fold his arms.
"Don't you think we should run?"
Rose asks the Doctor
The Slitheen shuffle forward.
"Fascinating history, Downing Street. Two thousand years ago, this was marsh land. 1730, it was occupied by a Mr. Chicken. He was a nice man. 1796, this was the cabinet room - if the cabinet's in session and in danger, these are about the four most safest walls in the whole of Great britian"
The Doctor presses a button the was beside the door and turns toward the rest of the group and continues.
"End of lesson. Every entrance to the room is immediately blocked by metal shutters. Installed in 1991. Three inches of steel lining every single wall. They'll never get in.
Rose realising a bit of a conundrum turns to the Doctor and says
"And how do we get out?"
"Ah. didnt think of that"
The Doctor notices the body in the room and starts to clear and put it out of sight.
"What was her name?" The Doctor asks Harriet.
"Which one?"
"This one, the secretary or whatever she was called."
Harriet goes to look.
"i don't know. I talked to her. I brought her a cup of coffee. I never asked her name. "
Over hearing the coversation Abby answers.
"Her name was Indra, seen it on her tag when we came in"
The Doctor crosses Indra's hands over her body.
"Sorry.Right, what have we got? Any terminals? Anything?"
"No. The place is antique. What I don't get, is when they killed the Prime Minister, why didn't they use him as a disguise?" Abby states
"He's too slim, they're big old beasts, they need to fit inside big humans."
"But the Slitheen are about 8 feet, how do they squeeze inside?" Rose asks
"That's the device around their necks, compression field, literally shrinks them down a bit. That's why there's all that gas, it's a big exchange."
"Wish I had a compression field, I could fit a size smaller."
"Excuse me, people are dead, this is not the time for making jokes"
"Sorry... you get used to this stuff when you're friends with him."
She indicates the Doctor, who is busy scanning the walls with his sonic screwdriver.
"Well, that's a strange friendship."
"but the best" Abby says looking at Rose who agrees with the statement.
"Harriet Jones, I've heard that name before, Harriet Jones. You're not famous for anything, are you?" the Doctor says joing in with the converstion, standing next to Abby.
"Huh! Hardly."
"Rings a bell, Harriet Jones..."
" Lifelong back bencher I'm afraid, and a fat lot of use I'm being now, the protocols are redundant, they list the people who can help and they're all dead downstairs."
"Hasn't it got like, defence codes and things? Can we just launch a nuclear bomb at 'em?" Rose says
"You're a very violent young woman..."
"Try taking away her chips then you'll see violent" Abby says quietly but loud enough that Rose and the Doctor could hear.
The doctor chuckles a little whilst Rose give her the evil eye. Rose continues
"I'm serious! We could!"
"Well, there's nothing like that in here. Nuclear strikes do need a release code, yes, but it's kept secret by the United Nations."
The Doctor stops scanning the mantelpiece with his sonic screwdriver to listen.
"Say that again."
"What, about the codes?"
"Anything. All of it."
"Um, well... the British Isles can't gain access to atomic weapons without a special resolution from the UN."
" Like that's ever stopped them," Rose says
"Exactly, given our past record, and I voted against that, thank you very much. The codes have been taken out of the government's hands and given to the UN. is it important ?" Harriet goes on to say whilst looking at the Doctor.
"Everything's important," he says
"If we only knew what the Slitheen wanted. Listen to me, I'm saying "Slitheen" as if it's normal."
"You get used to it I promise," Abby says as she walks toward Harriet and placed her hand on her arm for comfort before walking towards Tose.
"What do they want, though?" Abby asks the Doctor
"Well, it's just one family so it's not an invasion. They don't want Slitheen world... they're out to make money, which means they want to use something, something here on Earth... some kind of asset."
"Like what? Gold? Oil? Water?" Abby asks
"You're very good at this."
"Used to thinking out of the box with you around."
The Doctor turns to Harriet
"Harriet Jones, why do I know that name?"
Rose's phone goes off.
"Oh! That's me." Rose says slightly startled
She takes her phone out of her pocket.
" But we're sealed off, how did you get a signal?" Harriet asks.
"He zapped it! Super-phone."
" Then we can phone for help! You must have contacts." Harriet says talking to the doctor
"Dead downstairs, yeah"
"Who is it, Rose?" Abby asks
"it's Mickey."
"Oh, tell your stupid boyfriend we're busy." the Doctor says frustratingly
"Yeah, he's not so stupid after all," Rose says passing her phone to the Doctor, Mickey had taken a photo of the Slitheen in her mum's kitchen.
Roses' phone begins to ring. Rose answers and puts the phone on the loudspeaker.
"Hey Micks, you okay. We are all here." Rose says
"Fine now, but the thing he wasn't just alien, but like, proper alien. All stinking, wet, and disgusting. And more to the point, it wanted to kill us!"
"I could've died!" Jackie shouted from the background.
" Is she alright, though? Don't put her on, just tell me."
The Doctor snatches the phone from her.
"Is that Ricky? Don't talk, just shut up and go to your computer."
"It's Mickey. And why should I?"
"Mickey the Idiot, I might just choke before I finish this sentence, but eh, I need you."
The Doctor tells Mickey to type in a particular website
"It's asking for the password." Mickeys say
"Buffalo, two Fs, one L."
"Password again."
"Just repeat it, every time."
The Doctor is to talk out loud.
"Big Ben, why did the Slitheen hit Big Ben?"
"You said to gather the experts, to kill them."
"That lot would've gathered for a weather balloon, you don't need to crash land in the middle of London," Abby says sarcastically before looking at the Doctor and apologising.
"The Slitheen were hiding, and then they put the entire planet on red alert, what would they do that for?" Rose says.
"Oh, listen to you two," Jackie says down the phone
" At least we are trying!"
" Well, I've got a question if you don't mind. Because since that man walked into our lives, I have been attacked in the streets. I have had creatures from the pits of hell in my own living room, and my daughter's disappeared off the face of the Earth"
"Mum there is more at stake than just your life, we are probably talking about the fate of everybody" Abby interrupts her mum, with slight annoyance in her voice.
"I told you what happened." Rose quickly answers, looking at her sister with eyes that say, why do you have to start an argument with her.
Abby turns her back and steps away from the table. The Doctor quickly follows and brings her back to the table.
"I'm talking to him. 'Cause I've seen this life of yours, Doctor. And maybe you get off on it. And maybe you think it's all clever and smart, but you tell me. Just answer me this - are my daughters safe?"
"Oo now she cares about Both of her daughters" Abby mutters to herself in anger.
The Doctor not hearing what Abby said just stares at the phone.
"We are fine."
Jackie continues " Are they safe? Will they always be safe? Can you promise me that?... well what's the answer?"
The Doctor glances up at Rose and Abby, who looks back at him. Abby whispers.
"We are fine. Whatever it takes, We are with you"
"We're in." Mickeys say breaking the tension.
Let off the hook, the Doctor rushes around the table. and the conversation continues between Mickey and the Doctor
"Right then, on the left, there's a tab, an icon, little concentric circles. Click on that."
"What is it?"
"The Slitheen have got a spaceship in the North Sea and it's transmitting that signal, now hush, let me work out what it's saying. "
" He'll have to answer me one day." Jackie is heard in the background of their conversation
" It's some sort of message."
"What's it say?" Abby asks
"Don't know, it's on a loop, keeps repeating."
A doorbell ringing could be heard through the phone
"Hush," the Doctor says.
"That's not me. Go and see who that is Jackie" Mickeys says
"It's beaming out into space, who's it for?"
"It's him! It's the thing, it's the Slickeen!" Jackie is heard shouting on the phone
"They've found us," Mickey says
"Mickey, I need that signal." The Doctor advises.
"Never mind the signal, mum just get out! Get out! Get out!" Rose says quickly
" We can't, it's by the front door. Oh, my God. It's unmasking. It's gonna kill us." says Mickey
"There's got to be some way of stopping them! You're supposed to be the expert, think of something!" Harriet says speaking to the Doctor
"I'm trying!" the Doctor says angrily.
With this no one noticed Abby taking a few steps back from the table and leaning against the wall. She was pale, her hands were shaking. She placed a hand on her head. The shooting was back and worse than ever. The conversation between everyone seemed to blur for a couple of moments. One word came to mind when the doctor said the planet, Raxacoricofallapatorius. Vinegar.
"Vinegar!" Abby whispers through the pain. Which is starting to ease slightly and things start to become clearer. seems no one heard her.
"Mum get vinegar!" she said loudly. startling everyone. She came right up to the phone slightly pushing Rose out of the way.
"Cupboard by the sink, middle shelf just grab anything with vinegar" she continued she could feel everyone staring at her but she chose to ignore it.
Jackie could be heard going through the list of vinegar-filled items in mickeys cupboards. gherkins, pickled eggs and so on.
The Doctor turned to Rose and said. "you kiss this man."
Through the phone, you could hear a bang and then a further explosion. there was a few moments of silence when Mickey's voice came through the phone.
"Listen to this."
A news reporter could be heard through the phone.
"Our inspectors have searched the sky above our heads and they have found massive weapons of destruction, capable of being deployed within 45 seconds."
