The Tumbleweed Saloon. We walked in and it definitely looked like something out of the old west. Complete with an old piano.

"This still feels weird, Moo. Where I'm from, I studied about the old west. I never thought I would actually live it."

I walked over to the old piano, sat down and started playing it. I played my favorite Luke Bryan song, "Play It Again". It sounded good on the piano. I even sang the song. I wasn't surprised that no one knew the song. The owner asked who the piano player was. Moo wasn't sure how to answer, so he told the owner that they would have to ask me.

Moo got a mug of sarsasparilla and brought it over to me. He set it down next to the piano keys, then pulled up a chair and sat down. He was enjoying his drink and my playing.

I stopped temporarily so I could get a drink.

"You'd put Cowlarado to shame. That was great. Is there any other songs you can play and sing?"

"Actually, there is. This sarsasparilla tastes just like root beer, but with more bite. I like a drink that has a bite."

"I'm sure Miss Lily would like to hear that. She had asked about where you came from. I couldn't figure out how to tell her that wouldn't sound so farfetched. Think you could give her an explanation?"

"Not a problem. I needed to take a break, anyway." Then I got up from the bench with my drink in my hand. I walked over to the bar and sat down.

"You must be Miss Lily. I love the bite in the sarsasparilla."

"Why thank you. I don't get very many compliments on my sarsasparilla. Moo said I should ask you about how you arrived here."

"It was the oddest thing. I was watching a baseball game, then a bright flash in my eyes, then wound up in the desert. I have no clue how I am going to get back to my own time. I'm making good use with the time I do have here. However long that is."

"It seems that Moo took a liking to you."

I looked back at him, then back at Lily. "He's been helping me adjust to the way things are here. I've met Dakota and Cowlarado briefly. No idea what they're going to think of me and I really don't care. I just have to find a place to stay tonight."

"Unfortunately, I don't have the room, but you might ask Moo if he knows anyone. Cowlamity might have an extra room at her ranch."

"I could ask her. I was surprised that she leant me her rodeo belt and buckle."

"Is that the same buckle Dakota gave her?"

"Sure is. She said it was collecting dust in her drawer."

While Lily and I were talking, a small child, probably around 8yrs. old, came running in with his arms full of things.

"Well, hello Cody. Did you get everything I asked for?"

"I sure did, Miss Lily. Who's your friend?"

"I'm Michelle. Nice to meet you, Cody. Would you like some help, kiddo?"

"That would be great, ma'am. Thank you." Then he handed me some of the things in his arms.

After Cody and I were out of sight, Moo walked up to the bar.

"She seems to be adjusting well."

"Yeah, she has. I'd like to see her play the piano more. Everyone seemed to enjoy the music and her singing."

"I think that's a great idea. She also needs a place to stay tonight. Any ideas?"

"She can stay with me for tonight. I have an extra room at my place."

"That's very nice of you, Moo. T-Bone definitely raised you right."

"Could you come by the office tomorrow, Miss Lily? There's something I need to show you. It also explains why Michelle and I share the same last name."

"Of course I'll stop by in the morning. You never mentioned anything about your past other than living with T-Bone in Miller Glen."

Before Moo said anything more, Cody and I came out from the back room of the Tumbleweed.

"Thank you, Miss Michelle. That was a big help. Some of those things I couldn't reach."

"Glad I could help you out, Cody."

"Howdy, calf-pint. You staying out of trouble?"

"Always, Marshal. I have to get going. Dakota needs my help with something."

"Be careful, Cody. Make sure you're back here before it gets dark."

"Yes Miss Lily." Then he waved at us as he left.

"What a helpful young man."

"He still gets into some trouble, but he's a good kid."

"Why did you call him "calf-pint"?"

"It's a nickname. He's my eyes and ears around here. Lily said you needed a place to stay for tonight. How'sd you like to stay at my place for tonight? I have an extra room."

"That would be great, thanks. Maybe we could find me a horse in the morning, too."

"We can ask Cowlamity if she has another horse you could ride. Do you know how to ride?"

"Does a horse like hay? Of course I can ride. Probably better than Cowlarado. He looks like he does some trick riding."

"Actually, he did before becoming a law cow. He still does now and then, but just to show off for the ladies."

"He's one of those "God's gift to women" type, huh? I have a friend like that. Its no wonder my friend doesn't have a girlfriend."

"It seems Cowlarado could use some pointers on nabbing himself a good woman."

"I won't be giving him pointers. He should learn on his own. Now, how about we get going. I'd like to get some sleep."
