I teach the kids at my house the dance motions for the upcoming Gathering. (It is when everyone in the city comes before the Throne, and the Father throws a celebration.) My students were catching on quickly, and I couldn't be more proud of them.
During practice, one of them came up to me and asked, "Miss Emily, will Jesus like it?"
It filled my heart with pride and joy to hear her say that, and I smiled brightly. "Of course He will!" I tapped her nose, causing her to laugh. I leaned down, placing my hands on my knees to look her in the eyes. "You know why?" She shook her head, still smiling. "Because you want to please Him."
She smiled even brighter, and rushed back to practicing with her classmates.
After my students left, picked up by family, I decided to take a walk to the park nearby. As I walked, I stopped every so often to catch angel music, to hear the flower sing (yes, they sing), or say hello to someone I knew.
I reached the park and sat down on the green grass in a secluded spot. Once I was comfortable, I laid down, staring up at the sky, closing my eyes.
"Might if I join you?"
My eyes sprang open, and I sat up quickly, to see Jesus standing over me, a smile on His face.
"Of course!" I blurted, blushing.
He sat down next to me and laid down just as I had done, not a moment ago, folding His hands behind His head as a pillow.
As I watched Him, a funny thought came to me, and I tried hard to stop my laughter. It didn't work.
"What's so funny?" He asked, eyeing me, but a grin was on His face.
I laid down next to Him. "Well, I just thought that it was funny that the King of all Heaven and Earth, just plopped down in the most unkingly manner."
Jesus rolled over to lean on His right arm, a smirk coming over His features. "Really?"
Suddenly and completely unexpectedly, He pounced me, pulling me to Him, and tickling my sides.
"No! Stop! Stop!" I cried, laughing, tears coming to my eyes. I tried to push Him off, but to no avail.
Finally, Jesus heeded my cries of laughter and stopped, but He still had me pinned to the ground. As He looked down at me, I stared up into His grinning face. My already flushed face turned red.
"Remember, " He said, with a chuckle, "you are like Me. Of course, I do things like this." With that, He bent His head to give me a small kiss. Then, He said with a wink, "Don't forget it."
