I went looking through my old archives and found this gem!! Enjoy!

A young girl ran through the corridors of the castle. Her small feet patted on the marble floors in quick succession, hurrying past servants who smiled at her enthusiasm. A smile donned her lips, and her eyes were bright with anticipation. In a few moments, her feet brought her to a towering golden door. She only paused a moment to stare up at it, but it was soon forgotten as she grabbed the handle and pushed it open.

But the moment the girl opened the door; the smile disappeared from her face. The room she looked into was quite large, but was completely empty, except for a large seat in the back middle of the room. The child looked straight at the seat, as if expecting someone to be there but was apparently not.

Though, the girl was not to be deterred. She pursed her lips and squinted her eyes in a thoughtful manner, with a slight noise of irritation. Stepping out of the room and closing the door behind her, the girl ran back in the direction she came, but this time heading to the castle garden.

The sun shone bright and high on the girl when she opened the gate to the garden. Her face was now curious and urgent, looking for whomever she didn't find before. She caught sight of something and her face lit back up again, and she shot off in the direction of the noise.

Bursting through the bushes, she threw her arms open, shouting, "DADDY!" and landing right into two strong arms, which lifted her into the air.

"Hello, precious one," said the One who had caught the child. He was tall. His hair, that seemed to made of light, fell to His shoulders, and well-trimmed beard framed His face, which shone like the noonday sun. "What are you doing running around?"

The girl looked at her Father's bright face and pouted. "You weren't in the throne room like usual so I had to go find You. I almost thought You had gone somewhere and weren't coming back for a while." She tightened her grip on His clothes, burying her face into His neck.

"Were you afraid I was leaving?" Her response was only to tighten her grip on Him even further. He stroked her hair to soothe her, and slowly her body began to loosen from its tensed state.

"Child…Look at Me."

The girl looked up into her Father's face to see a small smile on His lips. Her bottom lip had begun to quiver, and as much as she tried not to, her eyes began to lower from His gaze. His hand curled under her chin to keep her looking at Him.

"Precious one, I'm never gone from you. I'm always right beside you, because I am within you," He said, pointing to her heart. "Just because you can't see Me, doesn't mean I'm not there. You'll learn to see Me without seeing Me."

He kissed her forehead and squeezed her gently. "Better?" She sniffed, but smiled despite her tears, nodding.

Seeing she was better, her Father set her down on her feet. Then He smiled, His eyes twinkling, holding out His hand to her. "Now, let's have some fun together," He said, His Voice full of mischief.

The girl took it and nodded, giggling, and the two hurried off back into the castle.

So… I had originally wrote this as if it was Jesus. But… I never felt right about posting it. And I wrote this in college. That was almost ten years ago. Well… recently I have been learning more about Him as my Father. We think quite often of the Father as He is described in Ezekiel, which He is. He is the Most High and Ancient of Days. But, Jesus came to show us Him as a Father, a Daddy. I know people who use that term, and use it very loosely, and other people don't like it. But He still is our Daddy, yet is also the Almighty. "Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need." - Hebrews 4:16. We are still His children, and we have every right to come before Him. And yes, that means running like a small child to his/her daddy. And He will definitely put you on His shoulders!

Tip to all you who call Him Daddy. Don't do it on social media or in public, unless you are talking with someone who truly understands it. To other Christians who don't get it, you sound disrespectful, even though you're not. Don't cause others to stumble. That term is precious and is between you and Him.
