After a few days later, the work started. Peter took full reign over this. Susan and Lucy were busy to manage a sustainable trees and maintain diplomacy with the wood spirits. While Edmund, he should be oversee the people patrolling the borders before sun down, but he was in Alise's chamber, wondering if she could wake up anytime soon. Is she Alise?

A knock was heard and he went to open the door. A soldier centaur. She bowed her head. "My King, we are ready to head out."

"Right," Edmund was saddened to leave Alise... Alise-look-alike, alone. But he had to get back to work. "Right, let's go." He closed the door behind and followed the centaur.

Edmund had never seen how the borders keep the shadows out from progressing into the kingdom. None of his siblings have seen it yet. Not even Peter. So he was quite important to report back with his opinion. Right before the sky was turning orange, he stood on top of the gates and watched his sisters rode their horses back from the woods. He waited until the sun was almost down and the horns were blown.

Right when the sun was gone, they burn the stoke of woods surrounding the borders. fires were lit on top of the gates as well. Then it came. Edmund could hear some things were moving. He got a torch and lit it around himself. Then he jumped into the dark. Monsters screeched. He could see flat claws, retracted back into the shadows. Oh god, they were creatures. How could he see it's true form if it could only stay in the dark...

He tried something. He put the torch away and put his foot into the dark.

"Your majesty, don't!" said a soldier.

Edmund was pulled in. Thanks to the soldiers, Edmund was freed. and the torch fell to the shadow and it screeched by the light and were gone again. Edmund was pulled back to the light. The creatures were strong.

He stayed with his soldiers in the north gate until morning. The shadows were gone with it.

Edmund went back to report this to the other Kings and Queens.
