In the lovely day of summer air, he waited in her chamber. Perhaps he had been coming here more often than Sompson. He was drawn to her, somehow. She looked a lot like Alise. Her name almost resembled each other... But he wished to hear it from her own voice, not Sompson's. Would she recognize him... No, probably she won't. This is Narnia, not London Edmund thought. He watched the courtyard patiently. Barnaby should be here soon. He would supervise his attempt to take the necklace off.

Knocks.

He opened to find the expected guest... accompanied by an annoyed looking Peter. Peter entered first, then Barnaby followed. "Right, what's all this about, Edmund? We should try to solve the shadows in this realm, not idling in this room hoping you'll ask Sompson's daughter on a date."

Barnaby went to check Annabelle, while the two kingly brothers bicker about. He checked her pulse, her temperature on her forehead, and the locket Edmund had mentioned. He opened the latch and found the vial. He nodded. "I will take this off now. I do believe it is blood."

The Kings stopped bickering and watched him take it off of Annabelle's neck. He stepped back and watched the sleeping girl. For awhile, the three of them stayed, hoping something to happen.

Annabelle's eyes started to flicker. She frowned. Head turning side to side as if she was trying to ward off a nightmare. She was hyperventilating.

"S-something's wrong," Edmund said.

The girl's eyelids shot up to glare at the ceiling. "Mother... MOTHER! DO NOT DO SO!" she shouted and screamed. She frantically got up, despite her weak state, so she fell to the floor weakly. She had never moved a limb for years. No muscles were able hold her up.

"Barnaby!" Edmund ordered. "Get Sompson in here quickly! Tell him his daughter wakes up! Peter, help me."

Barnaby left in a hurry, while the two Kings helped a frightened Annabelle up. "NO, NO, MOTHER! DO NOT DO AS SO..." They put her back to the bed and found her gaze. She didn't want them here and she looked around. "WHERE AM I?"

Peter leered at Edmund. Edmund spoke, "You're safe. You're in Cair Paravel."

The words did not comfort her. But she remained quiet with eyes so wide and unblinking. Moments later, Sompson arrived, out of breath. "My daughter..."

"Father?" she glanced in urgency. She calmed down a bit, but she still had those wide eyes. Sompson went to hug her tightly as he sobbed.

"My daughter..." he repeated again and again to sink in that Annabelle had awakened.

Peter gestured Edmund and a confused Barnaby to get to the hallway. To leave them for a moment, but he also wanted to talk about it. Right after the doors shut, he spoke, "So she's cursed?"

Edmund glanced at the wizard for answer.

Barnaby was nervous, but he nodded. "Yes, My High King. She is cursed. She might have been sleeping all this time... with this..." he showed the necklace to give. Edmund took it and examined it more. "Someone did it to her to keep her... I don't know the intentions. You can only hope she remembers to tell her tale."
