It's all official now I have the fastest and most maneuverable Y-class freighter in federation space, the first part of the space trials shows that. After undocking from the station and slowly increasing impulse speed went as expected, given the unique setup of my impulse engines I had to do a full set of maneuverability tests. One odd thing that came up, is my ship likes to drift, as, in Tokyo drifting, I wonder if I can come up with something to take advantage of this oddity.
The warp trials came as a surprise to everyone I think, given the excess power of my warp-core and oversized warp nacelles. Warp 8 at max and that's only because of the stresses on the frame of the ship, if I could reinforce it I could get it over warp 9. with a comfy cruise speed of warp 5, what I got to keep in mind is that all this speed is because my ship is at its lowest mass. Fully loaded my ship would mass three times what it is now, what that means is, that at full load my ship would max at warp 5 and cruise at warp 3, still better than any other Y-class.
Now that the ship is for all intense and purposes fully functional it's time to name it, and I know just the one I want.

well, that's my nod to my favorite sci-fi game 'home-world emergence', loved that game.
So next is to see to some life improvement to be added, industrial replicator, holosuite, useful drone tech for security, medical and maintenance. I am one man and this is a big ship for me also the computer cores have been named.
pilot and navigation core I named it Tuck after Wing Commander Robert Roland Stanford Tuck.
Engineering got named Nik after Nikola Tesla,
the combat-focused core is named joe after Joe Calzaghe,
environmental and life support got jade after Jane Goodall.
Lastly, sensors and communication got Mata after Mata Hari.

Been about a month since the last time, but I have been busy, not running around crazy busy but focused to get things done. To changes I got a transporter system and holosuite installed, it's going help in my R&D a lot also got the plans for a bunch of drones, but I'm going to have to go thou them and do redesigns because there are so…..kid and idiot friendly, lots of wasted potentials.
Got a medical facility now too, more like a room with two beds, but it's better than nothing, hopefully, I can build a medical drone that will not kill me just encase of an emergency.
Mainly it's been getting the ship into top condition, more trials, more data, more refinements all-round. No more missing wall panels, stains, or miss-matched colors, the hull is a nice deep industrial Gray with navy blue highlights. 'kuun-lan' is written in gold with some nice lighting to make it stand out on my hull.
My first stop is planet Risa, I always wanted to see paradise and I need to try and track down a weapons dealer. My ship has a pop gun and that's it, and I can see no way in hell I could up arm it where I am mainly because I have nothing to arm with.
I plan to do some mining along the way, just skimming through some unpopulated systems to see what I can and can't do with a transporter beam. I got some trade goods to deliver too, all civilian stuff. Got some news today to enterprise D has been launched so about now Picard should be dealing with 'Encounter at Farpoint '.
Knowing what the general timeline is like for everyone out hear is a huge pressure, I could intervene like a good Samaritan otherwise known as an idiot. I do not want a target that big on me, so I'm going to loaf along and do 'my' thing and keep a close eye on things. If Q, section 31, Talshier, Obsidian Order, or the Klingon Imperial Intelligence come knocking, I'm going to run screaming for Picard to save me, otherwise, it's geek time as I travel around the federation.

one thing they never tell you about is the tedium at warp, it's mind-numbing, I was at warp for a full two minutes and thirty-seven seconds before the shine wore off. After a full twenty-four hours, I was at my breaking point so I started talking to my ship systems, and they started talking back, kind of.
They are very stiff and robotic, but I can already hear the improvements. Between the computer on the enterprise and Tony Starks Jarvis, my five are still closed to the Enterprises computers but they are edging slowly towards the Jarvis side of things.
I also started designing my first drone, I decided to do a mining drone, the basic idea is a set of three drones to act as a team, one to break down materials, one to use a stripped-down transporter to fill the third. I decided to spread the full process across three drones due to power consumption and drone size. The idea is to have the first two drones stay on-site while the third, more numerous type hauled their loads back to me after being filled on site. This also means I can have multiple mining ops going at once all looking for different materials.
The work on the drones has only just begun, but I can already see that the first and third drones will be pretty straight foreword but the second drone the one with the transporter will be a bitch to design, that's why I'm leaving it till last.
I'm thinking of doing maintenance drones along the same lines too.
