Chapter 2
The Gang Met Up
In the mortal world, Shaggy and Scooby were making their way to the local funny car race track. For the past three years, Shaggy had taken up car racing as a hobby, however last year he had become a professional racing driver for his home town. Today was a big day as it was the final race of the season and Shaggy was in the top three on the leader board, he was just one victory from becoming the season winner.
"Like can you believe it Scoob?" Shaggy asked, "Just one more race then I have the rest of the year off as a champion."
"Reah. Rest rnd relaxation." Scooby said, putting his arms behind his head in a resting pose.
"Like you said it, Scoob." Shaggy said with a chuckle.
Meanwhile, in a small house with orange-brown paint, Velma was in her studies. On her desk was a blank piece of paper. In her right hand, she held a pen which she lightly tapped the desk with as she tried to think about what to write. Ever since she and the others had graduated college in their early twenties, Velma had become an author. Her books were mostly supernatural stories, inspired by the mysteries she and the gang had solved over the years. She was currently in the process of writing her thirty-fifth book, which was proving to be quite difficult. She didn't have a clue what the premise should be, let alone what the story was.
She was brought out of her thought by a car horn. She looked out the window and saw Shaggy in his car. She quickly got up, turned the lights off, locked her door and got into the red car. Scooby licked Velma's face as she buckled her seat belt.
"Scooby." Velma said with a chuckle. "Excited for the race Shaggy?" She asked.
"Like I sure am." Shaggy said as he began to drive off.
"I still can't your in the top three." the woman in orange said.
"Me either." Shaggy said. "By the way, how's your next book coming along?"
"I'm haven't even started yet. I've only got two months to write and I can't think of anything." Velma said.
"Rave rou rone rn rhe rnow reature?" Scooby asked.
"Yes." Velma answered.
"The dinosaur spirit?" Shaggy asked.
"Yes."
"Rhe rhost rf Relands Rothers?"
"That's what the last story was based on." Velma said.
"Don't worry Velma. I'm sure you'll think of something." Shaggy said as he made a left turn.
Elsewhere, Fred was in his room practising something special.
"Daphne Blake you are the most kind, wonderful, amazing person I have ever met. Will you marry me?" Fred said, getting on one knee and opening a small, dark blue box with an engagement ring in it.
Fred exhaled. He wasn't one hundred percent convinced that he had nailed how he was going to ask Daphne for her hand in marriage, but after years of being with her, the twenty-three-year-old was ready to spend the rest of his life with her.
He walked downstairs and made his way to the back garden which had an outside swimming pool. Daphne was having a morning swim. She had just surfaced when Fred came outside.
"Twenty-minute warning." Fred said.
"Ok." The twenty-three-year-old redhead in a purple bikini said. She got out of the pool and quickly dried herself off with a purple towel. She walked into the doorway and once she had reached Fred, she gave him a quick kiss on the lips. Fred liked it but he got nervous as Daphne's right hand touched his right pocket, which had the box in it. Daphne gave him a surprised look. He was about to explain when he saw her expression turn to a sly smirk.
"Is that a rabbit in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?" Daphne said in a tone that was a mix of seductive and teasing, blinking in a flirting way.
Fred smirked back. "I'm always happy to see you." he said as he put his hand on her cheek.
Daphne giggled and left to get ready. Once she was out of ear range, Fred signed in relief. He wanted to surprise her after the race. As he waited, Fred sat down on the sofar and read one of his books on traps.
Twenty minutes later, Daphne came downstairs, wearing her usual purple dress with a v-neck, pink pantyhose and purple shoes. At that moment Shaggy, Scooby and Velma arrived. Shaggy beeped the horn to get the pair's attention.
"Just coming." Daphne shouted as Fred got up. Fred and Daphne left the house. Daphne got into the car as Fred locked the front door before getting into the vehicle. Shaggy drove off towards the race track.
"Bet you're looking forward to the race, huh Shaggy?" Fred asked.
"I sure am, but not as must as I am to what comes afterwards."
the man in the green shirt said.
"You mean the celebratory meal out?." Daphne said.
"Yep." Shaggy said as Scooby licked his lips at the thought of the meal.
"Not a surprise." Velma said.
"Rhe real rs rhe rest rart rf rhe ray." Scooby said.
"It is for you two." Fred remarked.
"What do you think will be the best part then?" Daphne asked, turning to face her boyfriend.
Fred began to speak, trying to think of a good excuse to avoid ruining the surprise.
"Well the race itself of course." the man in the white shirt with a blue strip said.
"Really?" Daphne said, before slightly flexing her eyebrows and looking into his eyes.
"Well, maybe there is something else." Fred said slyly as he lovingly looked into her eyes.
Meanwhile, in another part of Cooksville, Georgina and the dragon had arrived in the mortal realm.
"Quant little town isn't it." Georgina said in a sarcastic but humourist tone to the dragon. The reptile nodded in agreement.
The young vampire made sure that her black cloak was over properly to avoid the sunlight. The dragon hid in her hood as Georgina walked off to look for their perfect, soon to be werewolf.
It won't be easy. They need to find someone who was already great at car racing but also not too famous that the news would report the person's disappearance on a global scale.
She tried to avoid any eye contact from many of the citizens walking passed her, many of them not looking like a suitable replacement for her father's race. Soon, Georgina found a board with a map on it. She read it and found the directions to the race track.
"I think I know where to look." She said, then she began to make her way to where she could create a new werewolf.
