Chapter 4

Trapped in the Forest

It was five fifty-five when the gang were ready to leave. They drove out of the stadium in Shaggy's car as serval other people left the stadium.

"Like I still can't believe it." Shaggy said. "Me a season champion."

"Ri ran't relieve rt rither." Scooby said as Shaggy turned on the headlights as the sun began to set in the reddish-orange sky with a few clouds drifting slowly across.

"Congratulations again Shaggy." Fred said in the back middle seat.

"Thanks Fred." Shaggy said. "Now let's get some grub." the green shirt man said.

"Rmm rhm." Scooby said licking his lips, drooling at the thought of food. "Rinner rime."

"So where should we go to?" Fred asked hoping Shaggy would choose a fancy place so it would be more romantic when he proposed to his beloved Daphne, who was sitting on his left.

"We know just the place." Shaggy said.

"Re sure ro." Scooby said.

"Let me guess. Joe's all-you-can-eat buffet?" Velma said in a deadpan voice in the right seat in the back.

"Yep." Shaggy and Scooby said together.

"Of course." Daphne said with a small chuckle, although she was hoping for somewhere more classy to have dinner.

Meanwhile, in the deep dark wood, Georgina was finishing the final preparations for her trap.

"Perfect." The vampire said, proud of her work. "Now all that's left to do is to wait for our soon-to-be werewolf and we can go home."

The dragon looked at her and made some grunts and groans in a way that sound like he was asking what they would do with the other mortals.

"I'm not sure." Georgina said, putting a finger below her lips as she thought. Then she received a transmission call. Georgina took out the crystal ball. The smoke in the ball out began to fade and soon showed the heads of her parents.

"Georgina, have you found a suitable replacement to be our werewolf?" Dracula asked his daughter.

"Yes although there is one small... problem." Georgina said, secretly hoping that this would cause her parents to give up the plan and send her back.

"What's that?" Dracula said sternly, raising an eyebrow.

"He has some friends with him and I doubt you want them to inform the police about his disappearance." Georgina said smugly with a smirk.

Dracula glared at his daughter, knowing exactly what she was trying to do. Vanna Pira shook her head in disapproval then the pale blue-skinned wife of the pale green-skinned vampire remembered what the other monsters had said during the meeting and an evil smirk appeared on her face.

"I know exactly what we should do with them." Vanna Pira said.

"What would that be my dear?" Dracula asked his blacked-haired wife in interest.

"Georgina can bring them here with the one who will become our werewolf and we'll give them a monster makeover." Vanna Pira said.

"Wonderful idea my love." Dracula said putting his arms around his wife.

"Thank you, darling." Vanna Pira said.

"Now then Georgina get those soon-to-be ex-humans." Dracula said to his daughter.

"Yes, father." Georgina said in a deadpan voice.

"I don't come back without them." her mother added.

"Yes, mother." Georgina said in the same deadpan voice as her parents hung up. Georgina rolled her eyes as put the crystal ball back in her pocket. The small dragon looked up at her.

"Yes." Georgina said in a deadpan confusion.

The dragon sat down and panted like a dog before breathing fire.

"You want the dog turned into a dragon don't you?" She said in amusement.

The dragon nodded its head whilst making a happy noise, causing Georgina to roll her eyes with a small smile.

"Alright, then I'll tell my parents to do that." The young pale greenish-blue woman said, bending over to pick up the dragon. Then she turned into a bat and flew into the trees, carrying the small reptile to wait for the gang.

Not too far away, The gang were still driving along the road as the night began with the waning moon high in the sky, when they noticed a sign that wasn't there before. The sign read "DETOUR: ROAD WORK A HEAD." with an arrow pointing in the direction of the dirt trail that led to the nearby woods.

"Like I don't remember anything about them saying that they would be working on the road." Shaggy said.

"Re reither." Scooby said in confusion.

Not wanting to into trouble, Shaggy turned onto the dirt trail neither he nor the other gang members noticed the vehicles behind them were continuing down the road as the sign could only be seen by the gang and no one else.

The dirt trail was rocky and bumpy with overgrown weeds and vines that made it hard to see it from the rest of the grass field.

"Why would they send anyone down this road?" Velma said between the bumps.

"Maybe there's a turnaround coming up." Fred said, although not fully convinced himself. Fred was getting more nervous that the small box would be full out of pocket.

Suddenly a new sign appeared pointing into an opening in the forest and read one way.

"Like hang on gang." Shaggy said as he turned in the direction of the arrow.

"Why would they lead people into the forest just to fix a road?" Daphne asked raising an eyebrow in confusion.

Up in the treetops, a bat watched them with her blue eyes as they drove deeper and deeper into the forest as a small low-hanging thick fog rolled in making Shaggy and Scooby nervous. The bat flew in the shadows of the trees keeping out site.

The gang drove deeper and deeper into the dark forest. The tops of trees looked like arms coming to grab them, the wind made some of the plants whistle in a spooky tone and the fog made everything look ten times creepier than they actually were.

Shaggy turned on the fog lights although even these didn't hello to make the path easier to see.

"Maybe we should turn back." Velma said beginning to feel nervous, the forest reminded her of the kind of scenes she had created in her novels. She knew that those kinds of stories were fake but the danger at night was all too real.

"I'm with Velma we should turn back." Daphne said holding onto Fred as he put his arm around her in a protective manner.

"Like I'm right for that idea." Shaggy said.

Just then the car stopped. Shaggy tried to rest the car but it still did move.

"Jeepers we're stuck." The woman in purple said looking out of the window to see that the car's wheels were formally stuck in the soggy wet mud, sinking deeper with every wheel turn.

"Great there's no signal." Fred said looking at his phone that he was going to use to call for help.

"Row rould rhhings ret rny rrost?" Scooby said in a worried voice.

By pure coincidence, As the last word left the Great Dane's mouth, the bat landed on the ground in front of the car and turned in a young pale greenish-blue woman in a black v-necked vampire dress.

"Did that..." Velma said in both fear and shock by what looked to be a real supernature being. Fred and Daphne slowly nodded their head with fear on their faces. Daphne put her arm around her boyfriend's neck, not only because she was scared but to protect him from the vampire. Shaggy's and Scooby's teeth chatted in fear as the figure walked toward them. Georgina took out the book to the page with the spell she needed.

"Slǣpan Mortels." Georgina said casting the spell.

The five inside the red vehicle began to feel tired. Slowly their eyes began to close until they fell asleep.

"Couldn't have gone better even if I wanted it to." Georgina said to the reptile, impressed with her handy work. The young vampire then spoke the spell that teleported her, the dragon and the car with the gang inside, back to the supernatural world.
