'Dear diary,

Today at 7:23 P.M., I have started my forty-eight hours and, it is fair to say a little bit awful. For three hours I planned on where might the campsite be before I told my father what I wanted for my birthday, and now it seems to be in ruins. There were already signs that indicated that someone was there, both literally and figuratively. So now I needed to move my campsite elsewhere, where no one, not even my father's Coven can find me. So in a desperate attempt to avoid any connection with any intelligent life, I moved my campsite to The Knee. And it sucks. Both; Steve, Lilith, Kikimora, and all most half of the books in the castle have exaggerated a lot about the weather here. No wonder why no one decides to visit here at all. At least there is a bright side to all of this; in just 47 hours later, I'll be at school being a completely normal girl holding a massive lie to everyone around me, I'm practically a...'

Luz stops writing in her diary due to something that caused her to lose focus and stop writing. She looks up into the semi-night sky while the sun begins to set. She sees a weird ball of fire flying over the Boiling Isles. She smiles and says to herself, "A shooting star. . ." Luz then brings her hands together and intertwines her fingers together and lifts them over her heart as she says, "I wish that, I," Her smile fades to a sad face, "I wish that I can have something to help me to help others." Lux looks up, and from having a sad face, her expression turns to fright as she sees that the meteor was heading toward her. Luz then runs away hoping to avoid being hit by the meteor. She successfully avoided being hit by the meteor.

The meteor crashes down towards the spot that Luz was at. Once it collided with the ground, it sent a shock wave, causing Luz to lose her footing and tumble down a hill nearby, causing her to roll down said hill. Once she rolls down the hill, she hits a ruined pillar hard, causing her to fall unconscious.

1 hour later. . .

Luz begins to wake up, and as she does, her vision starts to become blurry. She stands up while still disoriented by the hit on the head, she uses the ruins to lift herself off of the ground and to steady herself. Once when she steadies herself completely her vision starts to set and restore completely. She looks around and sees that she is still at the Knee. She looks up at the top of the hill and sees the trail of snow showing off her fall. Luz begins to climb up the hill, with a few slippery close calls. Luz was able to get up to the top of the hill and she looks at her surroundings. She stops when she sees a crater that is large from where she stood. Luz then takes up the courage to walk over to the crater and sees how deep it was because the meteor or the shooting star crashed down onto the ground. She then sees something that caught her eye. Luz was now staring down at the bottom of a crater where an odd circular object is at the center and it started to open up slightly. As it started to open up, an odd alluring glow from the inside the pod caused Luz's curiosity to want to go towards the light and disregard anything that her conscious was telling her to do. Luz says to herself, "What is that thing?"

The edge of the crater that Luz was standing on started to break apart causing Luz to fall and roll down towards the circular object. At some point along with the rolling down into the crater, Luz received a few scrapes on her hands, knees, legs, and a small cut on the left side of her cheek. Once when Luz stopped rolling down the hill, she instantly turned her attention toward the scrapes on her. She tried to examine one of the scrapes on her knees, but it stung her causing her to flinch in pain. But then, she ignores her pain when she spots the alluring bright pink light from the weird circular object. Luz then walks up to the object, because of the injuries that she sustained from the fall, which caused her to limp over to the object not wanting the pain to be even more unbearable. When she came closer to the opened object, she sees something that she has never seen before, it was some kind of short arm guard and the design wasn't something that she has seen before either. She has seen arm guards before, those who used arm guards were members of the Beast Coven to show her what their attire/armor looks like encase if she wished to join.

There was something different about this arm guard, it does have that weird design, but it also has a circular dial and a circular hourglass insignia that has the dial thing on the outer layer. The weird object had black, grey, and blue being the primary colors. The circular object on top of the arm guard is a silver-like color dial in the middle. It seemed similar to that of a watch face that she had seen most members of her father's coven have for a shift change. In the center of this weird dial is a pink hourglass shape with blacked-out triangles at the left and right sides filling in the spots that weren't pink.

Luz then says to herself out loud, knowing that no one else was around, "What are you?"

Luz then reaches out to grab the watch.

Then out of nowhere, the watch jumps out towards Luz and attaches itself to Luz's wrist. Luz is now shocked by the fact that this thing suddenly jumps onto Luz's wrist even though she didn't place it on her wrist herself. Luz screams in terror as she begins to walk back franticly while trying to remove the object- watch- arm guard- off of her arm. She continues to try to remove the thing off of her wrist but there is no luck. She falls to the ground onto her back. She then gets back onto her feet and runs out of the crater while shouting for help, "DADDDDDDD!" After she got out of the crater, she rushes into the forest all the while she tries to get the weird thing that came crashing down off of her hands. She even tried to dig her fingers under one of the sides to pry it off, but with no luck.

She eventually comes to a stop.

Luz was tired and it caused her to go down to her knees in exhaustion. She begins to take deep breaths in an attempt to calm down. She then looks at the thing and tries to pry it off again. But there was no luck.

She then hears a small chime after her hand touched something on the arm guard causing the center to rise with a small cylinder coming upward.

The hourglass soon became a triangle while showing a silhouette figure in the middle. The person seemed to have somewhat large hands, and odd heads, well odder than the people in the Boiling Isles, and they appear to have a slim figure.

Luz looks at the figure and begins to attempt to figure out where has she seen this kind of demon, creature, monster, something, or other before she turned 10 years old, Luz was given multiple lessons on the different types of creatures in Boiling Isles. She was given these lessons for nine months. The different types of creatures in the Isles were separated into three months and since there are three different types of creatures in The Boiling Isles she was given three months to learn one of them and the others were next.

Luz then pushes down the core. Once the core was pushed down all the way, it emitted a blinding pink light that caused Luz to be memorized it the first time around.

Red rocks suddenly appeared from the device and the rocks soon begin to spread all over Luz's body, and they also began to cover and hide the device that started it all. The rocks not only spread all over her body but soon covered and went over her clothes, her jacket, pants, boots, gloves, and hat was soon too covered in the red rocks. These rocks make their way to her face. Once when the rocks were finished covering all over Luz, she sees herself as a figure whose body is composed of a bright yellow inner magma body covered by dark red or brown rocks. Her hands were slim and were manga itself. Her face had two magma lines going from her eyes. Her head was ignited by a continuous flame starting from her neck and ending on the top of her head, her feet have a slight oval-like design with only two toes and one back toe. On her chest was a pink faceplate which was pink.

Luz looks at herself and with one quick look her response was. . .

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD! STEEEEEEEEEEEEVE! LILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLY" Luz screams in fear with a mature and raspy voice.

At the Emperor's Castle...

In the mess hall, multiple members of the Emperor's Coven were eating some of their favorite foods that the Boiling Isles has to offer. At a table nearby, where multiple members sit and talk with Steve, Luz's guard/friend/brother-figure. Steve used to look after Luz back when she was eight years old and most people in the Boiling Isles know that kids those ages were monsters in disguise. He also told Luz bedtime stories and helped her with most of her homework. Steve's preferred magic was construction magic, so he was there to help Luz with her math homework, mainly the homework where she needed to do measurements to build models. Even after Luz grew up and she finished her math homework, Steve still hung out with her and Luz tend to see Steve as a big brother while Steve viewed Luz as the little sister that he wished he had.
One of Steve's friends said a joke, "...That's no Bog-Whomper, that's, my mother." Everyone laughed at his joke. Steve was almost finished with his food. Then suddenly he gets a sudden chill down his spine which caused him to say to himself, 'My guard senses are acting up, but what could have caused them to act?'

Around the same time, Lilith was looking over at a map of the Boiling Isles, which was right next to a wanted poster of her sister Edalyn Clawthorn. Luz looked up to Lilith as a mother figure, well, she had three other mother figures too, when she was growing up. She helped her with her hair, clothes, and bedtime stories, they go on picnics for the summer. One time when Luz accidentally got a paper cut when she was two years old, Lilith helped heal her cut, and after the cut was healed Luz called Lilith 'mama'. This came as a massive shock to Lilith, she had never actually seen herself as motherly just protective that's all.
Lilith was about to take a drink from her cup of apple blood when suddenly she feels a sudden shiver down her spine. She stops herself before she took a sip. She sets the cup down and says to herself, 'I have no idea why but, I feel like something bad has happened to someone... But to whom?'

In the Emperor's Throne room, Belos was sitting on his throne there he was thinking about Luz winning the bet, which made him feel, uneasy. Deep down, Belos knows that some part of him told him that he wasn't the best father out there, but he tries to be. The reason for him not wanting Luz to go to a public school was because he wanted his daughter, Luz, to be safe and secure. He also knew that children were cruel and greedy, and he wanted to spare his adoptive daughter from being harmed not just physically but also emotionally and mentally too. But, since Luz has grown up in a castle for all of her life, it was hard to have her understand his motives for keeping her in her tower, so that she may be safe from all kinds of harm, the same harm that drove him to wear that infernal mask.
Out of nowhere, he feels a sudden shiver down his back which made him confused. He began to try to figure out when was the last time that a sudden shiver like this came about. He then thinks back to when Luz was 4 years old and was nearly devoured by a monstrous plant.

He then suddenly sits up from his chair and says, "Kikimora, get me Eberwolf, and tell her to begin a search party for Luz!"

With Luz. . .

At the Knee, a swirling tornado made of fire was burning trees, melting rocks, and sucking up small objects that were nearby. What was odd about this tornado of fire was that it stood in place not moving towards anything else. Eventually, the tornado evaporated into nothing. On top of a hill nearby, Luz was still a rock-fire-something-Demon-creature, and instead of panicking Luz, Luz was actually...

"This is the best Birthday EVER! YAHOO!"

Having a great time with this rock person. For all of her life, Luz needed to act like a princess, and now that she has become something else that makes her different, now, she has a time of her life. Luz then extends her hands outward, which then created massive streams of fire blasting out of her hands going out for 8 to 10 miles. After a few minutes, Luz stops firing allowing the flames to stop, she then starts to get excited and waves her hands in the air where she accidentally fires a thin short blast of a fireball from her knuckles. Luz stops cheering and becomes even happier and says in her new raspy voice, "Okay, now I know; that is the greatest birthday ever! Haha Ha ha ha, take that Hunter."
After Luz panicked for a few minutes, she realized that she wasn't in any form of pain or anything in that matter. After checking herself out, she discovered that the form that she is stuck as has fire-like magic and begins to use it after she accidentally sets a nearby tree on fire. She starts waving her hands at the tree trying to stop the fire, then she notices that every time she motioned her hands the flames followed causing the fire to either move to the left, right, back, up, or down. When Luz motioned her hands to the right all the way, the flames stopped. Luz then looks at herself and thinks that her becoming this thing- may not be all bad at all. Since then, Luz has been mastering and figuring out her magic-or something powers. So far she discovered that she can fire a massive stream of fire, fire tornado, fire punches, and now fireballs. Everything was going great for Luz, until, a sudden thought came to mind:

"Oh. My. Titan. What am I going to tell Father?!"

Before Luz could panic,

something massive crashed down behind the hill where Luz was. Luz turns around and sees a large metal giant with four metal legs, massive hands, four spider-like legs, massive red-insect-like eyes, and sharp-thin fingers. The metal giant looks down at Luz whose mouth is wide open in fear. She became more worried as the metal giant announces in a dead voice, "Target located. Begin Operation; Retrieval." Without warning, two three-barrel cannons appear on the metal one's shoulder and fire red blasts onto Luz's feet sending her flying off of the ground and crashing into the forest nearby.

Luz picks herself up and looks towards the metal one's way and sees that it is walking towards her way causing the ground to shake because of its large feet. Luz then says, "I take it all back, this is the worst birthday ever! How can this get even worse?!"

Just then...

"Prince Belos, are you there? Your father has sent for us to see if you are all right!" Lilith's voice was heard at the end of the forest which was followed by an orange light that Luz recognized whenever she played with the Beast Coven leader when they played Hide-and-go-seek.

Seeing and hearing this, Luz's heart sank in which then caused her to mutter, "Me and my big mouth."
