Hello everyone. I'm sure you are all curious about the SYOC aspect of this story. Before I go any further, let me put out some rules-

1. No OP/Mary Sue characters. Every character must have flaws. This also includes powers. Nothing too powerful or godly.

2. Be detailed. Explain things like you were explaining them to a person who has no idea that OC's are a thing. Teach me your characters. Make them detailed.

3. Not every character will be accepted. This does not mean that they are necessarily bad, but I already know the story I want to tell. Some characters just won't fit in with it.

4. NO RELATIONS TO ACTUAL HEROES/VILLAINS/OTHER CHARACTERS. This story takes place in an alternate timeline where they don't exist. This also includes races like Kryptonian and groups like Lantern Corps.

5. Unless you can give me an actual good reason instead of using Superman's reason, NO ALIENS. At least, not right now ;)

Now, before I post the application, let me just say- While I am opening SYOC, I must ask you wait until after the next two chapters. This is not mandatory, but I want you all to have a decent understanding of the world, or at least, the starting areas. However, if you feel like you have a decent understanding already, go right ahead and send them. I will allow you to update them as time goes on, so long as you are reasonable with your updates.

Let me repeat that- YOU CAN UPDATE YOUR CHARACTERS AS TIME GOES ON, SO LONG AS IT IS REASONABLE. That's right! Especially if your character has yet to debut, you can update your character until you feel they are perfect.

If you would like to include how you think they would feel about the already shown characters, I have no complaints to it. It just gives me more to work with.

Here are the locations-

Reaverfall City (Main)- A business first city, with dozens of skyscrapers and office buildings. Crime is abundant due to the business oriented nature of the city: You either are successful, or you don't matter. This leads to many people who "don't matter" resorting to crime. Though, there are some who chose crime over work. Due to the crime, some superheroes have begun working directly with the police department, though many still act as vigilantes.

Important Locations-

Harmony Mental Institute (Insane Asylum)- At Harmony Mental Institute, the insane and sick have a home. They are treated with the best care possible while they are studied in an attempt to find something that can help them return to society.

Reaverfall Prison- This prison is solely inhabited by super powered criminals. Usually seen wearing collars that mute their abilities, the prisoners have a tough time due to the heavy security and round the clock surveillance.

Ellis Law Firm (Lawyers Office)- The top Law Firm in the state.

The Tribune Chronicles (News and Media Company)- The most reputable News Station in the state.

Chelswell City- A medium sized city that has a variety of everything. Unlike the nearby Reaverfall City, Chelswell City is the city for everyone. Everyone has an opportunity for a good life in this city. Most criminals turn to crime for fun, rather than necessity. Superheroes are common here, working with the local police department, though the department is understaffed.

Benetown- Once a nice and cozy town, Benetown has been abandoned by the government in recent years after supposed monstrosities showed up. Tribune Chronicles Journalist Catalina Cortes has been itching for coverage on this story, due to concern for the many people who still live here even though the police department ceased a couple years ago. No major new heroes have spawned from this area within the last four years.

Voxford- While Reaverfall is the city where business speaks, Voxford is where money speaks. Some of the richest people in the country live in Voxford, profiting off of the Vox State Bank. Criminals are incredibly rare here, as are heroes.

Arcstein- Arcstein: The City built by the Engineers. Arcstein is a modern city built with experimental technology in an attempt to better humanity. Criminals from here are usually tech savvy, as are the heroes. The police department has unique weapons compared to the nearby cities.
