Shen Chi who was walking past had heard that, and he found that make sense.

Granny Shen put aside the money and checked the picked vegetables in the jar, "Chi, I need you to run an errand for me, send some pickled vegetables to Chen Xiao Mi's house, we need to thank them."

Granny Shen felt sorry for Lu Lin and the Chen Brothers, she thought Chen Xiao Mi was a hunter, Lu Lin was a man, no way could they cook decent food, Chen Xiao Cai and Chen Xiao Mai were both kids, they must be starving all day.

Lu Lin was so glad when Shen Chi sent them the picked vegetables, he and Chen Xiao Mi had been busy building the kang, he didn't have time or energy to cook, so they had been having coarse food for days. The Chen brothers were not picky eaters, but Lu Lin couldn't take it any more. He appreciated Granny Shen's kindness even more at that point.

Pickled vegetables were appetizing, Lu Lin enjoyed them very much, and somehow he started to understand why people were obsessed with organic foods, the pickled organic vegetables tasted so good.

More and more villagers were talking about Chen Xiao Mi and the 'ginseng' he had found, soon Chen Xiao Mi had heard of it too.

"You have been telling people that I have found ginseng?" asked Chen Xiao Mi.

Lu Lin nodded, "Yes, I have. The thing is we cannot let the Lus suspect the money has something to do with me."

Chen Xiao Mi had renounced the Chens, but the Lus were still coveting Lu Lin. They had sent Lu Tong to ask him to help with the Autumn Harvest, the grandmother had made a scene and slandered Lu Lin's name after Chen Xiao Mi drove Lu Tong away.

Chen Xiao Mi found that made sense, he nodded and said, "That's very thoughtful."

Chen Xiao Mi then added, "But aren't you worried that people may call you dead beat?"

Lu Lin smiled, "That doesn't concern me at all. We are living for ourselves, not the so-called name."

Chen Xiao Mi didn't quite follow Lu Lin, Lu Lin didn't explain further.

Chen Xiao Mi and Lu Lin went to the mountains this day.

Lu Lin took out the dagger he used to dig Chinese yam, but a voice came as soon as he crouched down, "Ha, let me see what's in your hand."

Lu Lin's heart sank, he raised his head and saw Chen Xiao Mi!

'I just saw him walking away, that's why I have taken out my dagger, but how come he is back?' thought Lu Lin.

Lu Lin frowned.

"Come on, let me see." Chen Xiao Mi couldn't wait to see what it is.

Lu Lin shook his head and handed his dagger to Chen Xiao Mi.

Chen Xiao Mi fondled the dagger admiringly, he waved it in hand and said, "Mine now!"

Chen Xiao Mi's tone was a bit demanding, but Lu Lin didn't find that annoying, he found that rather adorable. Chen Xiao Mi now looked like a five-year-old who has just got his Christmas present. Plus he had more daggers in the store.

Chen Xiao Mi's eyes were glued to the dagger, he had never seen such an exquisite dagger before, it was so light yet so sharp.

Chen Xiao Mi suddenly looked Lu Lin up and down, "Who are you exactly? Are you a human or a spirit?"

Chen Xiao Mi had just seen how Lu Lin got this dagger in hand 'out of nowhere', so he asked Lu Lin that question.

"I'm your husband, of course I'm human!" Lu Lin laughed.

Chen Xiao Mi squinted his eyes and said, "You can just regenerate food out of nowhere, right? The flour, the rice and the eggs in our kitchen is all your doing, isn't it?"

Chen Xiao Mi wished it were true secretly, because he and his brothers were all enjoying the yummy food Lu Lin had been cooking for them.

Lu Lin shook his head and said, "That's not entirely true. I have a store that is full of food in my body, so we will run out of food eventually."

Chen Xiao Mi's eyes sparkled, "Are there many eggs in your store?"

Lu Lin nodded, "There are about eight hundred eggs left, we have eaten more than a hundred eggs already."

'What? We have eaten over one hundred eggs since we got married, so that's like five eggs per day! Even the wealthy people aren't this luxurious!' Chen Xiao Mi screamed in his heart.

"You are not the Lu Lin we know, right?" Chen Xiao Mi had inquired about Lu Lin's reputation before they got married, he had even visited Lu Lin on the sly, the Lu Lin he had seen was a quiet, shy and reserved man. But the Lu Lin who married him was nothing like what he had seen before.

Chen Xiao Mi became more and more suspicious as they got along, the glass marble, the kang, and now a store full of food!

Lu Lin nodded, "You are right."

"What store are you talking about? Is the glass marble from the store?"

"Yes, the store belongs to a different time and space."

Hearing that, Chen Xiao Mi heaved a sigh, he was glad that the glass marbles weren't stolen.

"How about the kang?"

"I've read it on the book," Lu Lin then quickly added, "On the book from a different time and space though."

"You are an educated man?"

Lu Lin nodded, "I've persevered ten years in my studies."

'I'm not lying, kindergarten, primary school, middle school, high school and college, that's actually more than ten years.'

"Did you attend the imperial examination?" Chen Xiao Mi was so curious.

"How do I put this, we don't have imperial examination any more, but we do have civil service examination, and I didn't pass that exam. It's hard, and I don't have the right network." Lu Lin explained.

'He didn't pass the exam, but at least he is honest about it, and wow, he is an educated man!' Chen Xiao Mi found that very impressive.

Chen Xiao Mi was so curious about the store Lu Lin mentioned, but he didn't know what questions he should ask, and all of a sudden it occurred to him that Chen Xiao Mai had asked him a question… …

"Mai mentioned something about sugary water, what is that?"

Lu Lin nodded and took out a bottle of chocolate milk, Chen Xiao Mi took a gulp and he was amazed by the taste.

'This is so yummy! It's so sweet and milky! Why is it black though?' thought Chen Xiao Mi.

Chen Xiao Mi finished half a bottle within seconds and he kept smacking his lips delightfully.

"You can hand it back to me if you can't finish it now."

Chen Xiao Mi clutched the bottle like a mother hen protecting a baby hen.

Lu Lin laughed and said, "Don't worry, I will keep it just for you. We need to be cautious, no one can see this bottle."

Chen Xiao Mi nodded and handed the bottle to Lu Lin.

"Can we store other stuff in your store?" Chen Xiao Mi asked.

"Correct."

Chen Xiao Mi gasped, "So I didn't have to carry the boar in my basket last time we went to town, we could have put it in your store and walked all the way to town empty-handed?"

"Technically yes," Lu Lin nodded, "But other people might see, that's why I didn't mention it."

Lu Lin agreed, it was a bit risky.

"Don't worry, I won't mention a word to anyone else as long as you don't do any dishonest practices with your store." Chen Xiao Mi assured Lu Lin.

Lu Lin nodded with a broad smile.

"There's a fair in the village in a couple of days, is there anything in your store that we can exchange for money?"

Lu Lin thought for a while and said, "The stuff in my store is too different, I don't think it's a good idea to sell them in public. Plus there's enough food in the store, we don't need to worry about anything for the entire winter."

Chen Xiao Mi was thrilled to hear that, 'enough food for the entire winter', that was just awesome!

Chen Xiao Mi and Lu Lin both decided to hide this from Chen Xiao Mai and Chen Xiao Cai for they were both too young.

Lu Lin was surprised to see Chen Xiao Mi's reaction, Chen Xiao Mi didn't look shocked or worried, he looked rather interested.

Chen Xiao Mi thought about the glass marbles Lu Lin had given him, that was indeed too novel. So he asked Lu Lin whether there was anything less conspicuous.

"How about alcohol?"

"You have alcohol in your store?" Chen Xiao Mi asked with curiosity.

Lu Lin nodded, "of course."

Alcohol was easy to store, it never expired, and people loved alcohol!

Lu Lin had stored liquor, wine, and all kinds of beer in his store. Especially beer, there were over a hundred boxes of beer in the store. But the packaging would definitely arouse suspicion.

"Can I have a look?" Chen Xiao Mi was getting more and more curious.

Alcohol was still a luxury in that time and space, people didn't have sufficient food to eat, let alone using grain to brew wine or beer.

Lu Lin took out a beer for Chen Xiao Mi.

Chen Xiao Mi took a sip with relish.

"Do you like it?"

Chen Xiao Mi smacked his lips and said, "This is great."

Chen Xiao Mi had never had beer before, he had only had rice wine for it was easier to make.

"We can use some money to buy a mule." Murmured Lu Lin.

"A mule? What so you want a mule for?"

"We can ride the mule or use the mule to carry stuff to town."

"That's a waste of money, we can always walk." Chen Xiao Mi looked displeased.

Lu Lin shook his head, "It's easier when we have a mule, what if the boar is too heavy? Plus we can take Mai and Cai to town to enrich their experience."

Chen Xiao Mi rolled his eyes, 'This Lu Lin, he has already started daydreaming. But he has a point, we can use a mule for a lot of things. Hmm, wait, wait, how are we going to feed the mule? We don't have any farm or field now… …'

Chen Xiao Mi was so torn. He didn't want any attention from the villagers, he couldn't even imagine how people were going to talk about him if he really bought a mule. But on a second thought, he hadn't done anything wrong, he shouldn't be feeling guilty about anything.

And he couldn't help but recall how the villagers laugh at him behind his back for he couldn't borrow the village head's oxcart. There was one time he was stuck in the heavy rain on the way to town, the other villagers were just gloating over him when they walked past him on the oxcart.

Chen Xiao Mi knew how the villagers talked about him behind his back, they all said Chen Xiao Mi would have his karma soon.

"Are you a rich kid in your time and space?" Chen Xiao Mi asked Lu Lin.

Lu Lin was stunned for a second, he was by no means rich in modern society, he worked hard to make a living. But on the other hand, he indeed had a much better life than a rich kid or a young master in this time and space.

"Kind of." Lu Lin nodded hesitantly.

"Really? No rich kid would cook." Chen Xiao Mi didn't buy that.

Lu Lin laughed, "Cooking is like my hobby."

Chen Xiao Mi pursed his lips and pointed at the beer can, "You are right, the packaging will bring us trouble. Is this can made of aluminum?"

"Correct."

"What a waste! To use such a beautiful can to store alcohol!" Chen Xiao Mi frowned.

Lu Lin just nodded and echoed Chen Xiao Mi, he didn't have the heart to tell Chen Xiao Mi that aluminum can was worthless in modern society.

Chen Xiao Mi spent two hundred pennies on twenty wine jars the next day.

Lu Lin started to pour beer into the jars, he filled eleven jars with a box of beer.

"All righty, let's seal the jars now and try out luck in the big restaurants tomorrow." Chen Xiao Mi was excited and he was sure they could sell the beer for good money.

Chen Xiao Mi now had made up his mind about the mule, he decided to listen to Lu Lin and buy a mule. He could even build a cart, so they didn't have to worry about carrying stuff to town any more.

Lu Lin wasn't as optimistic as Chen Xiao Mi. He had confidence about the beer, but they hadn't done any marketing before, people in this time and space hadn't heard about their product before.

"It's fine if we can't sell them, we can enjoy them by ourselves." Chen Xiao Mi comforted Lu Lin.

"We can send one jar to that Young Master Yang who has bought the glass marbles." Suggested Lu Lin.

Lu Lin had inquired about that Young Master Yang the last time they were in town, it seemed that the Young Master was a reputable man in town. Lu Lin hoped he could recommend the beer to his friends, word of mouth could be very powerful, especially in that time and space.

Chen Xiao Mi nodded, "Sounds like a good plan."

The two went to town together the next day, Lu Lin had put the wine jars in his store, but Chen Xiao Mi still carried a big basket in case people got suspicious.

Chen Xiao Mi was confident about selling their product, but soon his enthusiasm was dampened.

The two visited Fu Yuan Restaurant first, but the busboy was such a snob, he had driven the two away when Lu Lin asked him whether they could meet the owner.

"Meet our owner? Who do you think you are!" the busboy turned them down in an arrogant manner.

The two had to leave. Chen Xiao Mi felt very bitter.

"What a snob!" Chen Xiao Mi pulled a long face.

Lu Lin, however, looked unbothered. "No need to lower ourselves to his level."

Lu Lin disliked the busboy's attitude, but he had seen that coming. So he comforted Chen Xiao Mi, "That little busboy is just relying on his master's might to bully us, he is a nobody and he will always be a nobody. But we, with our intelligence and work ethics, we will make it one day! No need to pay him any attention, okay?"

Chen Xiao Mi was impressed by Lu Lin's words.

Lu Lin took Chen Xiao Mi to the second restaurant, the busboy took them to the owner right away. The owner was intrigued when he heard that they were here to sell alcohol.

"Alcohol, what kind of alcohol?"

"Home-brewed." Chen Xiao Mi replied.

"Hmm, home-brewed, I'm afraid I can't offer you a good price for that."

"Just try some, I'm sure you will change your mind."

The owner looked unconvinced, he doubted how good a villager's home-brewed alcohol could be.

'These villagers, green and inexperienced, they think they have the best stuff.' The owner snorted.

"Xiao Mi, what are you doing here?"

Chen Xiao Mi and Lu Lin turned their heads only to find it was Young Master Yang.

"Young Master Yang! How are you! We are just here selling our home-brewed alcohol!" Chen Xiao Mi was happy to see Young Master Yang here for they going to visit him next, "And we have prepared a jar for you."

With that Chen Xiao Mi handed a jar to him.

Young Master Yang wasn't interested in Chen Xiao Mi's home-brewed alcohol for he only drank the best alcohol from the best restaurants, but he was a well-mannered man, so he took the jar and thanked Chen Xiao Mi.

The owner of the restaurant was surprised to see Chen Xiao Mi and Yang Heng Zhi know each other, so he started to regard Chen Xiao Mi with special respect.

"Let's have a look at the texture of your alcohol please." Suggested the owner.

Chen Xiao Mi took two bowls and filled them with the alcohol from the jar.

Yang Heng Zhi who was not interested in Chen Xiao Mi's product was now surprised to see such a rich texture.

"That looks amazing! That looks top quality!" Yang Heng Zhi opened his fan and exclaimed.

The restaurant owner took a sip and asked, "Are the rest of the jars the same batch as this jar?"

Chen Xiao Mi nodded and said, "Correct. They are the same batch."

Yang Heng Zhi took a sip as well, and he was shocked, "Chen Xiao Mi, this is mind-blowing, hmm, let me see how many jars you have here… …"

The restaurant owner said anxiously, "Young Master Yang, please, not so fast, I was about to make my offer."

Yang Heng Zhi laughed, "I'm sorry, Mr. Wang, please give Xiao Mi a reasonable price for his remarkable product!"

"Don't worry, I will." Mr. Wang was a bit displease that Yang Heng Zhi was here because he couldn't get the product with a low price now.

Mr. Wang hesitated for a while and he offered Chen Xiao Mi eight taels for ten jars, and he said he was interested to buy more from them.

Chen Xiao Mi was stoked to hear that, eight taels of silver, that was a small fortune to them! He was even more stoked to think Lu Lin had more alcohol in the store!

The two went to the fair to look for a mule, but they didn't find any, the mules were either too old or too sickly, they didn't have many options, so they decided to buy some groceries instead.

Lu Lin bought some flour, rice and six chooks, he wanted to raise their own chooks for eggs. Chen Xiao Mi bought six geese, geese could lay eggs as well, and they could guard the house.

Lu Lin looked at the geese and squinted his eyes, he decided to let Chen Xiao Cai look after the geese, he knew Chen Xiao Cai was a responsible kid who was going to do an excellent job in taking care of the geese, plus Chen Xiao Cai would be too occupied to bother him if he had six geese to look after.

Chen Xiao Mi felt a lot closer to Lu Lin after they shared the secret of the convenience store. And he was in no rush to venture for money since they had a decent amount of money in hand now, he spent a lot of time collecting firewood instead of hunting. Now he valued Lu Lin's opinions more than anything, he collected firewood because Lu Lin told him the kang needs more firewood at night.

Lu Lin had once again seen how mighty Chen Xiao Mi was, Chen Xiao Mi would wield a blade like it were a plume, and he was able to run carrying a basket of firewood. It took Lu Lin five times the time to collect a comparable amount of firewood with Chen Xiao Mi.

However, knowing Lu Lin was a 'rich kid' from a different time and space, Chen Xiao Mi actually appreciated the efforts he had put into the house. He accepted Lu Lin's 'incompetency' without complaint.

The villagers were still daydreaming about hunting after seeing how well-off Chen Xiao Mi's family had become. But not a lot of them actually had the guts to venture into the mountains.

Chen Xiao Mi and Lu Lin spent about ten days on collecting firewood, Lu Lin had also stored some mushroom, bamboo shoots and Chinese yam in the convenience store for winter.

Mushrooms weren't easy to keep, and so were Chinese yam, they would go mouldy within a few days. But Lu Lin didn't have to worry about that since time didn't exist in the convenience store.

Chen Xiao Mi and Lu Lin had even built a kang for Old Hunter Zhou who had taught Chen Xiao Mi hunting. Old Hunter Zhou would suffer severe joint stiffness and pain on cold days, Lu Lin once mentioned a kang would help, so Chen Xiao Mi asked Lu Lin whether he would like to build a kang together with him for Old Hunter Zhou, Lu Lin was touched by Chen Xiao Mi's gratefulness and he agreed with alacrity.

Old Hunter Zhou wasn't thrilled about the kang until he tried it himself, he would spend hours on the kang after Lu Lin and Chen Xiao Mi built it for him. The warmth relieved his pain a great deal, his joints were less swollen.

Chen Xiao Mi had also collected a decent amount of firewood for Old Hunter Zhou before he left.

Old Hunter Zhou was so grateful for the young couple for there was a cold-air outbreak on that very night, and soon Old Hunter Zhou's kang had caused attention from the villagers.

Old Hunter Zhou had been crippled for years, but luckily he had some savings from hunting and dealing mountain products, villagers would visit him and sell grains to him to exchange money. Old Hunter Zhou sometimes would get so anxious that one day soon all his savings would be used up and he would meet his doom by then.

Soon the villagers who had been to Old Hunter Zhou's house started to talk about that magical kang, they would give a vivid description about how warm the kang was and how great it was for old people's joints.

Villagers would swarm to Old Hunter Zhou's house and have a look at this magical bed that would keep the entire house warm. Some villagers were well-mannered, they knew they shouldn't visit Old Hunter Zhou empty-handed, they would bring a small amount of food or some firewood or a cluster of vegetables.

Even though everything was in a small amount, Old Hunter Zhou still felt very grateful and he would ask them to sit on the kang and feel how warm it was. It had been so long since so many people visited Old Hunter Zhou, Old Hunter Zhou beamed with smiles all day.

But the villagers showed different reactions after knowing it was Chen Xiao Mi and Lu Lin who had built the kang for Old Hunter Zhou. A lot of them were surprised to know that cold-hearted and ferocious monster would do such a nice thing to an old man, and some of them would just give a snort and leave Old Hunter Zhou's house.

The Chens, however, were furious when they heard that. Especially Grandma Chen, she stamped her foot in anger and cursed Chen Xiao Mi, accusing him of being unfilial. It baffled her that why Chen Xiao Mi would go to all the trouble of building a kang for Old Hunter Zhou instead of her, Chen Xiao Mi's grandmother!

To make it worse, Lu Lin's grandfather had also visited Old Hunter Zhou and he started to covet Lu Lin's help. Grandpa Lu asked Lu Tong to visit Lu Lin again, demanding Lu Lin coming back home and building a kang for him.

And of course Lu Lin had turned Lu Tong down, Lu Tong went back home crestfallen.

"Where is that brat?" Grandma Lu looked so upset when Lu Tong came back home all by herself.

Grandma Lu had long been waiting for an opportunity to get back at Lu Lin for not helping out Autumn Harvest, how she wished she could lash out at Lu Lin while Lu Lin was building a kang for them.

"He has turned you down again?"

Lu Tong nodded, "That's right, grandma. He said he didn't know how to build a kang, it was Chen Xiao Mi who was in charge and he was just an assistant."

Grandma Lu gave a snort, "He doesn't know how to build a kang, I say he is just being a slacker! He hasn't even visited us once after he married Chen Xiao Mi, he is too good for us now!"

Grandma Lu got more and more furious as she thought about Lu Lin, she decided to talk to Lu Lin in person.

Lu Lin was sleeping in when Grandma Lu knocked on Chen Xiao Mi's door.

Lu Lin was actually a laid-back person by nature, plus it was freezing cold outside and there was no air conditioner, so he had been sleeping in a fair bit.

Chen Xiao Mi was very tolerant towards Lu Lin, he had never uttered a word of complaint even though he was still keeping early hours, he felt like he should try to understand Lu Lin more, Lu Lin was a 'rich kid' who was used to an extravagant lifestyle after all, so he appreciated the sacrifice Lu Lin had made to fit into his family.

Lu Lin heard some loud noises when he was half-asleep in the morning, he walked out of the room only to see Grandma Lu confronting Chen Xiao Mi by the gate.

All of a sudden, Grandma Lu slumped down on the ground and wailed, "Why do you beat up an old lady like me?"

Lu Lin walked to Chen Xiao Mi and asked, "What's going on?"

Chen Xiao Mi frowned and said, "This foul-mouthed old woman banged on our gate like crazy, I tried to push her away, but all of a sudden she slumped down on the ground and insisted that I beat her up!"

'It looks like this mean old woman is about stage an incident and pretend to be the victim!' Lu Lin rolled his eyes.

Strangely enough, a crowd began to collect in front of their house. Chen Xiao Mi's house was very remote, Lu Lin wondered how come they swarmed here so soon.

"Good Heavens, why do you punish me like this!"

"What have I done to deserve this!"

"My own grandson shows absolute no respect for me and our entire family!"

Grandma Lu's crying became louder as she saw people started gathering.

Lu Lin whispered at Chen Xiao Mi's ear that he had got this, and he told Chen Xiao Mi to hide inside otherwise that old woman would start attacking him.

Chen Xiao Mi trusted Lu Lin and went back to the room.

Soon the village head had arrived, he asked Lu Lin what was going on.

Lu Lin said with full composure, "Xiao Cai caught m grandmother stealing, that's all."

Grandma Lu who was lying on the ground pretending to be weak and sickly had almost sprang to her feet in anger.

The crowd started to talk at once.

"You stupid boy, what are you talking about?" Grandma Lu gnashed her teeth and glared at Lu Lin.

Lu Lin said in a gentle voice, "Grandma, Xiao Mi has given you ten taels of silver to marry me, how can you get envious of Xiao Mi's hunting and sneak into our house to steal! My cousin Lu Cheng Yu is an educated man, he is determined to pass the imperial examination at the county level, you are ruining his reputation as well!"

The earnestness in Lu Lin's tone had moved everyone except Chen Xiao Cai who was looking at Lu Lin in a funny way.

Chen Xiao Mai had also heard that, he started to repeat, "Stealing, stealing… …"

Lu Lin snickered, 'Perfect timing, Mai! People will definitely believe an innocent little boy like you! I'll make your favorite Steamed Egg Custard for you!'

The village head cast a glimpse at Grandma Lu who was still lying on the ground, and the villagers were aflame with indignation, they couldn't believe this greedy woman wasn't satisfied with ten taels of silver as betrothal present and she was caught sneaking into Chen Xiao Mi's house and stealing!

Grandma Lu stopped crying, she just glared at Lu Lin, her cheeks flushing. While Lu Lin just looked at her sincerely.

"You little brat, what nonsense are you talking about! I will strangle you to death!" Grandma Lu was utterly discomfited.

"Grandma! My father died in the battlefield, my mother had dedicated her life to the entire Lu Family, and you have married me into Chen Xiao Mi's family! Me and Xiao Mi's kids in the future will be surnamed Chen instead of Lu! And now you are here stealing from Chen Xiao Mi, do you want me to die? Is that what you are looking for?"

The villagers now had completely taken Lu Lin's side, Lu Lin's kids would be surnamed Chen, they all felt sorry for Lu Lin, family line was the top priority in that time and space. Plus Grandma Lu had left Lu Lin in a tough position by stealing from him and Chen Xiao Mi, that was not something a grandmother should even think about doing.

The village head was disgusted by Grandma Lu, "Are you done? Get up already!"

"That's not true! This unfilial grandson of mine is making up stories!" Grandma Lu screamed.

Lu Lin just watched him making a fool of herself, he didn't say anything.

The village head cast a meaningful look at Lu Lin, "Lin, you are married into Chen Xiao Mi's family, but she is your grandmother after all."

Lu Lin nodded and he replied in a cunning way, "Uncle Zhang, you are right, grandmother spent one tael of silver on treating me after I committed suicide, I think she loves me."

The villagers looked at each other in speechless despair, 'poor Lu Lin, this old woman spent money on you to exchange you for Chen Xiao Mi's betrothal present!'

The village head nodded and said, "You are a reasonable kid, Lin."

With that the village head asked two people to carry Grandma Lu away, and he asked everyone else to leave.

Grandpa Lu slapped Grandma Lu hard across the face when she was back home, no one in the family believed that she didn't try to steal from Chen Xiao Mi no matter how hard she defended herself.

A lot of villagers had heard Chen Xiao Mi had made ten taels of silver by selling alcohol, so had Grandma Lu. But Grandma Lu had been running her mouth on this matter, saying Chen Xiao Mi was being silly for not asking for fifteen taels of silver and how she wished she could have such a large amount of money. So now even her own family members were convinced that Grandma Lu was envious of Chen Xiao Mi's success and she tried to steal from him.

Chen Xiao Mi heard about the farce Grandma Lu made from the villagers, he decided to come back home to be there for his family. But to his surprise, when he pushed their door open, what came to his sight was Chen Xiao Cai enjoying a bowl of steamed egg custard with some mushroom as garnish.
