Summary: With the war between muggles and magical world going on for years and with no way to stop it, Petunia Evans decides that the only solution is for her to go to another world and prevent it from happening with the help of Severus Snape.
Chapter 1: Last Ditch Effort
Petunia Evans lived with a lot of regrets. The first having married that vile excuse of a man, the second, having given birth to that obnoxious boy, and the third and most pressing was how she treated her own flesh and blood, her nephew. Her world was now literally a graveyard because the muggles had gotten involved with the magical war. That had used nuclear and chemical weapons. The planet was dead. As it turns out, Vernon had exposed the magical world when Harry had refused to give up his family estate. It had been out of petty and nothing more.
And as it turned out, Petunia herself had been a witch, but Dumbledore had bound her magic and caused the fighting that she and Lily had done growing up. He was also the reason she had treated Harry so terribly. He had cast spells and had given her a potion that had caused her to hate her sister and Harry. It was truly heartbreaking to know that one man would do all of this just to gain control of a young boy.
Luckily, Harry had caught onto Dumbledore's plan and had willed all of his money to muggle orphanages and hospitals. That young man had no problem being poor if others would benefit from it. He had the heart of a saint. He had kept enough to last him through school, and a few years out of school to find a job. Not only that, but he had also had his account manager invest all of his money, and it had been slowly growing until tragedy struck. Furthermore, he and his world were wiped out in the blink of an eye. They never saw it coming.
The muggles had cursed themselves. They were now living on borrowed time. They couldn't survive on a dead planet. Thankfully, when Dumbledore died, Petunia gained access to her magic, so she now had a plan. She was going back, hopefully, before Harry's parents were murdered, but she knew that it would be highly unlikely. The reason Petunia knew this knowledge and how to control her magic is that upon his death, Harry had given her his memories. Not all of them, mind you, just the important bits. It seems he had suspected that he would die, so he prepared for it as best he could.
The one thing he had done, was take Vernon with him. He had tied his life force with Vernon's, so when Harry had been killed, Vernon died with him. It had been his final revenge against him, considering that he had exposed the magical world and had taken pleasure in beating him as a child. The worse thing he had done was violating him, and selling him to his shady friends in order to pay his debts. Harry was never the same after they had stolen his virtue from him.
His eyes were dead. There had been no life in Harry. They had broken him. They did what the wizarding world failed to do. Furthermore, they did was Voldemort and Dumbledore could only hope to do. Furthermore, they destroyed a young man. After what had taken place, Harry had run away, never to be seen from again before the war. As it turned out, Harry had used his pain and trained harder than before with his husband, his soul bonded by his side. Lord Draco Malfoy. They took out both leaders of the war, saving everyone in the process. Not that it mattered much now.
As she looked around, Petunia performed the spell needed. She could no longer stay in this sorry excuse of a world. She knew when she had done the spell that the world she came from would cease to exist. They got what they had deserved. What had been the point of killing an entire race just because they were different? There would never be a reason good enough. It was a monstrous thing to do, and they would be suffering in the afterlife, of that, Petunia was certain.
But what she didn't expect when she performed the spell was the pain. She felt like she was being torn apart and put back together before she passed out, and when she had awoken, Petunia looked around, noticing a newspaper, she read it, and she was stunned. It had read October 1981 . She didn't think it would be the month of her sister's death, but she was hoping she could save her. It took her a minute, trying to remember where her sister lived, before she had come to the conclusion that it would not be possible.
She quickly wrote a letter before sending it off. Before she could do anything else, she was hit with a set of memories. As it turned out, she was now in her thirties, and she had access to her magic seeing as she had attended the Beauxbatons Academy of Magic She hadn't seen the point in separating children by Houses. But the thing she loved most was the relationship between Lily and herself. They were sisters and best friends. Petunia was also married to Severus Snape, now Prince. Her full name was Petunia Elizabeth Prince, née Evans.
Thankfully, Severus never joined the Death Eaters in this world, but he did make potions for both sides of the conflict and the Ministry. He was paid for his work quite well. Thankfully, it wasn't illegal to make potions for the dark lord. Petunia found that she did agree with some of his ideas, but she would never support cold-blooded murder.
The thing she agreed with most was the total separation between worlds. The muggles posed a great risk. Muggle-borns and half-bloods that come from the muggle world, should be watched or removed if they are beinging mistreated in any way. The parents, that except that child or children, should be placed under a spell that would keep them from exposing the magical world. Petunia knew that Lily would agree, but James, while a good man, thought that they should join the two worlds again.
There would be a terrible fallout if that happened, as Petunia had lived it. It was now time to put some plans in place.
