A Chance at Life With her Soulmate by her Side
Summary: When she walked into the Veil, Elizabeth never expected that her life would change. (Female Harry Potter/Aragorn)
Chapter 1: The Veil
Elizabeth was tired. After the war had ended, nothing changed. Muggle-borns and half-bloods were still classed as second-class citizens. Magical creatures were treated worse. If she had known this was going to be the outcome of the war, Elizabeth would never have killed Voldemort. She has heard whispers that there was going to be a marriage law to increase numbers, and Elizabeth knew that she would not get a good husband or a moral one. She has decided to end her life, by walking into the Veil of Death. Not only that, but she was taking everything with her since there was no one she wanted to see taken care of. They had all died in the war, and her godchild, Teddy, died from an infection.
She was alone in this world. She was not going to leave anything of value or her family fortune to those that do not deserve it. Elizabeth was ready to join her family. She would rather be dead than suffer in a loveless marriage. She deserved better than that. Elizabeth walked into the Death chamber, walking towards the Veil. It was the first time she has been in this room since Sirius had been murdered by his cousin.
She heard yelling behind her, turning, she saw the Minister. "Lady Potter, what are you doing?" he demanded. "I am joining my family. I did not end Voldemort and his minions for a world like this," she said, and she thought she saw remorse in his eyes, but it soon disappeared.
"What of your family fortune?" he asked, greed shining in his eyes, making her smirk a look of smug satisfaction. Those who had known James Potter felt that they were looking at him in female form. "This world will not get another thing from me," she said, stepping back into the Veil. Elizabeth was stunned. She was in a beautiful meadow surrounded by trees, and streams. It was relaxing.
"This is death?" she wondered, turning in circles. "No, it is not. For you are not dead," she heard behind her, turning around, she saw a being that felt incredibly powerful, but a being of goodness.
"You were not meant to suffer so, but it seemed it was needed, so you would appear before the Valar," the being dead. "Why am I not dead?" she asked. "It is true, the Veil is meant for the dead, but you were alive. Only souls could move on into the afterlife," the being explained. "I am sorry, my dear, Sirius was dead before falling into the Veil," the being said again, seeming to have read Elizabeth's mind.
"What do you want from me?" she asked, knowing that a lot was going to be asked of her. "Elizabeth..." the being trailed off when she cut her off. "It's Aldietha. It means battle-seasoned for a winner of wars. I have gone by that name for years," she explained, causing the being to smile. "Aldietha, you are meant for an entirely different world. You were never supposed to be born on Earth, but Middle Earth, but I have come to the conclusion that you were needed to stop Voldemort," the being said, making Aldietha stand up straight.
"What am I to do?" she asked, praying she would not have to fight in another battle. She could fight. She was proud of the fact, but she enjoyed restoring and healing. Furthermore, she has had enough of fighting. "You will have to fight in small battles to defend your home, but primarily, you are needed as a Healer, and in defense," the being explained, causing Aldietha to smile the first true smile she has in years.
"I will be happy too," she said proudly. "Middle Earth is a world separate from your own, one of many the Valar tend. We will transport you at the appropriate time. The reason is, we will be implanting the information within your mind to ease the process. You are greatly aided by the measures you took to increase your learning ability and knowledge retention. You will have one week to train your magic as we will be giving you new abilities along with the ability to use your magic without your wands. Furthermore, you must learn the languages of Middle Earth and train with not only a sword but also with a bow and arrow," the being explained.
"How am I supposed to learn all of that in a week? How am I to heal those in need without everything I require for potions, salves, and balms?" she asked. "Time moves differently. A week could very well be a month. We will make sure that you have everything that you will need. Do not worry, you will not be unprepared," the being said again. "You have been dealt a harsh start, we choose to give you a gift of the purest of treasures. We have seen your lives, yours most especially, and we know that this next gift will make everything balance. You will meet and bond with your other half on Middle Earth. Your soulmate, if you prefer that title. You will know him on site when you see a matching raven on his neck that matches yours on your collarbone," the being explained.
"Is he a good man?" Aldietha asked as she rubbed the mark on her collarbone, something she had done since she discovered the meaning all those years ago. She wanted more than anything to believe this was real, but Aldietha had learned over the years to take everything said with a grain of salt.
"Yes. With everything, you endured over the years, you need unconditional love and commitment. He will treat you as the treasure you are," the being said, causing something deep within Aldietha's heart to settle, and be at peace. "Now, we should start your training," the being said, causing Aldietha to focus on what needed to be done.
Over the past week, Aldietha has been taught everything she needed to know, but it felt more like two months. Making sure that she had everything, Aldietha was relieved that she was finished with her training. "You will appear just outside the City of Bree, in the path of your soulmate," she heard behind her, before she was whisked away from the meadow, and into a beautiful forest just as this handsome man emerged.
"Aldietha," the man greeted her just as she was hit with a dizzy spell, making her collapse and pass out into his arms.
