Chapter 1: The Valar
Harry and his sister had nothing left to live for any longer. Their world has been wiped off the face of the earth. Now you would think that the war would have been the cause, but it was due to the inbreeding. Magic still existed along with magical creatures, the humans no longer had magic. Harry and Euphemia were the only ones with magic.
After the war had ended, Harry and Mia had to bury everyone they cared about, including their godson, who had died due to an infection.
"Harry, I cannot live like this any longer. We did not go through war just so our world would die by its own stupidity," Mia told her brother. "I know, my sister. We are alone in this world," he said, embracing his twin.
"Why did it have to end this way?" Mia cried before she and Harry jumped apart, drawing their wands when these beings they have never seen appeared before them. Keeping his sister behind him, Harry approached the beings cautiously, "Who are you?" he asked.
"We are the Valar. We have watched you and your sister from the moment you were born. You were not meant to suffer so, but we are pleased with the choices you have made. Therefore, we are going to be sending you to a world that needs you. It will not survive without you. Now, there will be battles in this world, and you will have to fight for yourselves and your home and the people who will become your family. We are sorry for that, but there is no other way around it," they explained.
"I know how to defend myself if required, but I am a Healer," Mia said, cringing at the thought of taking a life. During the war, she had never taken a life. She may have injured and maimed the enemy, but she never took a life.
"We understand, my dear. You will not have to see a battlefield. There are not many healers left in Middle Earth, so you will be a valued member of that world," they said, smiling when Mia smiled a stunning smile but Harry was not so happy.
"We save one world, and now we are expected to save another..." he scowled, his green eyes flashing with protective rage. He would not let anything happen to Mia again. He had saved his twin from terrible things happening to her, one of which almost cost Mia her maidenhood.
"Harry, we have nothing left to live for here. At least in this new world, we have a better chance at a new life. Is that not worth it?" Mia asked him. She understood where he was coming from, but all she could think about was the opportunity to save soldiers, women, and children. That was something she wanted to do. What she needed to do. It was who she was.
"You are right, my sister, as usual," he smiled. Mia has always been his voice of reason.
"Middle Earth is a world separate from your own, one of many we tend. We will transport you at the appropriate time. The reason is, we will be implanting the information within your minds to ease the process. You are greatly aided by the measures you all took to increase your learning ability and knowledge retention. You will have one week to train your magic as we will be giving you new abilities along with the ability to use your magic without your wands. Furthermore, you must learn the languages of that world and train with not only a sword but also with a bow and arrow as well. Do not fear bringing whatever you will to your new world; there will be no repercussions," they explained, causing Mia to breathe a sigh of relief.
She and Harry had priceless mementos that they cannot part with. They couldn't care less about their money, but everything else was not beinging left behind. But the money would be nice to keep, seeing as their family spent centuries upon centuries of earning it.
"Seeing as I am a Healer, how am I supposed to heal those in need without what I need for my potions, salves, and balms?" Mia asked. "Do not worry, my child, you will have everything you need. Acquire a trunk with a magical greenhouse, and you will have all you require. We will also be training you in the ways of healing in Middle Earth," they explained, causing Mia to smile again. Harry enjoyed seeing his sister so happy. It has been years since he has seen a true smile from her. He vowed to make it happen on a daily basis. As though the Valar heard his vow, they told them what sealed their decision.
"You have been dealt a harsh start, we choose to give you a gift of the purest of treasures. We have seen your lives, yours most especially, and we know that this next gift will make everything balance. You will each meet and bond with your other halves on Middle Earth. Your soul mates, if you prefer that title. Euphemia, when you arrive, I am sorry to say that you will be separated from your brother for a few weeks. We will be sending you to the kingdom of Rohan to save the life of your soulmate. You will know him on site," they explained, causing the Potter twins to tense. They have never been separated.
"We are sorry, but it is the only way to save more lives. The king has been ensnared by one who went mad for power. Harry, you are needed to save the lives of the traveling company. We will give you one last gift. The ability to talk in each other's minds no matter the distance, along with feeling each other's strongest emotions," the Valar said before disappearing as quickly as they appeared.
"What are the odds of that having been a dream?" Harry asked, watching his sister go over the couch the Valar had been sitting on, picking up a parchment.
"This was no dream. In exactly one week, you both will be transported to Middle Earth. Prepare to arrive amidst a battle Harrison, although it is still our hope to arrange a more peaceful greeting for you. Still, be ready," they cautioned," she read out before two large trunks appeared before them. Opening them, they were stunned. Clothing and weapons from the Middle Ages.
"This is going to be different," Harry muttered, but thankfully not that different, seeing as the wizarding world was still of the Middle Ages with some things.
A week later they were as ready as they would ever be. "Ready, my sister?" Harry asked, tying his black hair back with a leather strip. In ten minutes, they were going to be transported to Middle Earth and separated. Harry will be in the middle of a fight between Uruk-hais, men, an elf, and a dwarf, while his sister, thankfully, will be safe and saving the life of her soulmate.
"Yes. I will miss you," she said as she strapped her bow and arrow to her back over her emerald velvet, fur-lined cloak, and an ivory floor-length gown. They had belonged to her mother. "We have all of our battle robes packed, and all of our leather clothing and tunics, as well as all of our weapons, cleaned, sharpened, and strapped on," Mia stated as she finished braiding her hair.
"Excellent. Do we have provisions? Potions?" Harry asked, tightening a leather strap on Mia's bows and arrows. He had charmed them, unbreakable and never-ending. They had been made from bared metal.
"Of course," she said, smiling and hugging him close before they were gently pulled apart and transported. Mia inside a kingdom, Harry during the middle of a battle.
"My sister is safe," he muttered before saving the dwarf's life. That soulmate of hers better take care of her and keep his hands to himself, he thought.
