Summary: After his marriage failed, Danny never expected to find love with someone who understands what he does and who he is. (Bella/Danny)

Chapter 1: How Bella Met Danny (Rough draft which includes grammar mistakes).

Bella was nervous. Not just nervous as if you're interviewing for a job, but so nervous that your heart races and feels as if it would jump out of your chest, and you can barely walk since your legs have frozen up. Why was she so nervous? It was her first date with her neighbor. And it happened to be on Valentine's Day. So here Bella stood in a new dress. It was a red silk dress with a slit going straight up to mid-thigh, black stockings to keep her legs warm, black heels, and her waves were fixed up, and she was wearing minimal makeup because she was beautiful without it, and she knew her date preferred her without makeup. She was in her kitchen drinking a small glass of wine to calm her nerves before their date.

Now, are you wondering why she was nervous about going on a date with her best friend? Well, let's back up to a few months ago when her new neighbor moved into the house next store.

Four months ago...

Bella was just reaching into the backseat, to help her three-year-old daughter out of her car seat when she noticed a man and two children coming out of the house next to her own. "So, my mother finally sold the house then. Are you my new neighbors?" Bell asked walking over with her daughter in her arms.

Danny looked over and saw a beautiful woman and an even more beautiful adorable little girl. She looked like a little angel. He and his wife divorced as friends. They didn't work as a couple any longer, and they fell out of love. Linda couldn't handle his job anymore, and he understood that. Not everyone was cut out to be a cop's spouse. Linda was still his best friend. Hell, he even liked her new husband. Josh was a surgeon, and he was an amazing man. Josh took care of Linda and their children, and Danny was grateful for that.

"Yes. I am Danny Reagan, and this is Sean and Jack. My sons," he introduced himself and his children. "Well, it's a pleasure to meet you boys, detective," she said. "My name is Isabella Swan, but call me Bella. This is my daughter, Amelia. Mia, can you say hi?" she asked her daughter and smiled when she gave a cute little wave. "If I may ask, where's your husband?" Danny asked. "Oh, I'm not married," she said and he got the message. He saw the haunted look in her eyes. After years of beinging on the force, he knew what to look for. He wished he didn't, but sadly, it is what it is.

"How do you like the house?" she asked. "We like it. Jack had claimed the basement apartment," Danny said watching as a pleased smile formed on Bella's lips. "Well, I'm happy you like it. The woman who sold you the house is my mother, and I work alongside her as an interior designer," she said not understanding why she felt the need to share so much with someone she has barely met. "You're very talented," Danny said. "Thank you," Bella said smiling. "Well, it's time for this little girl's nap. I will see you, boys, later," she continued as she reached inside her car and gathered the groceries.

Danny and his boys helped her seeing as she had her hands full with a very tired little girl.

Over the next couple of months, Bella and Danny enjoyed each other's company as they became closer and closer. They got their families together, and they all got along. The Reagan men loved her father. Charlie had served in the Air Force for ten years, and after he had retired, he served in the police force for another ten years before retiring so he could spend time with his girls and granddaughter. But when they discovered that Bella herself served in the Army for four years, they were stunned because she didn't seem to be the type. She retired when she was sexually assaulted by her commanding officer. It was heartbreaking that Amelia, such a beautiful little girl came into the world in an act of violence.

They didn't ask for the bastard's name, but they hated him. He had been sent to prison and lost his rank and pension from the Army. His family disowned him, and cut him off. Instead, they gave his trust fund to Bella and Amelia.
