Competitive Education - Against the So-called Perfect Girl!
It was another break period and Yuki was seen outside the school building drawing on her sketch pad.
The drawing was a school courtyard, and she added a few people performing a few physical activities to the drawing. The one she drew was the dodgeball game when Saiki talked about it.
However, she drew normal students rather than her classmates since she never draws anyone without their consent whatsoever.
But as she keeps drawing, she couldn't help but feel someone gazing at her from afar, and such things often put her on her toes...
When she alters herself into becoming a telepath, she hears the voice of a particular girl from her class...
'~I wonder what she's drawing. Perhaps I should ask her, but I have to make sure I do it the most perfect way possible~' A Blue-haired girl mentally declared from the second floor,
This is Teruhashi Kokomi, Class - 2's, Perfect Girl...
Based on Saiki's summary of the girl, Teruhashi is often the center of attention due to her perfect image, personality, and overall appearance. But in Yuki's perspective, she sees this girl as more of a clever individual rather than a perfect person.
Because 'Perfection' is a goal that can be chased but can never be caught.
Despite Teruhashi eyeing her a day after Yuki's arrival at PK Academy, the two hold no disdain or hostility towards one another. But Teruhashi became curious when she first heard the boys talking about her the other day while Yuki was somewhat impressed with how Teruhashi managed to maintain her perfect image for so long.
As soon as the bell rang, Yuki closes her sketchbook, puts it away into her bag, reverts back to normal, and makes her way back to the Classroom.
Teruhashi follows her example, but that's when their unofficial match begins...
Line Break
The Next subject after their break period was English.
After the lengthy discussion, The teacher had time to spare and decided to write a long incomplete sentence on the board in English.
Once completed, The teacher soon spoke to the rest of the class, "Alright, Everyone. Which one of you can figure out the missing word in this sentence? If you manage to answer it correctly before time runs out, You will achieve bonus points for the upcoming quiz tomorrow,"
With the sentence being long and filled with empty blanks, the students felt uncertain to stand up and answer the question. Teruhashi, being the perfect girl, tries to mentally solve this sentence before volunteering herself to fill in the blanks on the board.
But sadly for her, Yuki had raised her hand and the Teacher soon turns to her, "Ms. Hamada, Please come to the board,"
Yuki soon stands up from her chair, walked toward the board, and the teacher hands her the chalk.
But rather than fill in the words, Yuki also grabbed the eraser and started erasing some parts of the sentence on the board. This catches everyone by surprise while Teruhashi slightly shows hers and comments on Yuki's action '~Huh? Guess I overestimated her. A Perfect Girl would gracefully answer the sentence rather than erase them from the board~'
However, that wasn't the case as Yuki simply erased a few parts of the sentence and wrote down a revised version of the sentence as well as filling in the blanks with different answers.
The Teacher then examines the sentence and was thoroughly amazed by not only the answers. But also the revision of his written sentence.
"I'm impressed, Ms. Hamada," The Teacher said, "Not only have you written the answers. You have also corrected the mistake which I made,"
"Thank you, Sir," Yuki thanked in English much to the Teacher's amusement,
"And your English is quite fluent as well," The Teacher remarked, "Please take your seat,"
Yuki bows her head once and walked back to her seat. All the while, the students present were muttering to one another and were amazed by how well her English sounded.
As for Teruhashi, she enters into a state of panic by Yuki's action, '~Her confidence, her accent. They were all perfect!~'
English Class Outcome: Yuki Wins
The Next Subject was Art, and it was Yuki's subject of expertise.
But today's lesson required a partner, and Teruhashi seemed inclined to partner up with Saiki despite his disinterest in the subject. However, she has to be careful about it as most of the boys in the class were inclined on having Teruhashi as their partner.
When the teacher told the students to find a partner, Teruhashi plans on standing. But she felt a light tug on her shirt and turns her head to Yuki.
"Teruhashi, would you mind if I become your partner for this lesson?" Yuki requested, much to the boys' surprise...
"Eh? U-Um..." Teruhashi peeks over Saiki and finds him being paired up with Nendou. She seemed defeated, but refuses to show it as she smiles at Yuki, "Sure,"
With Yuki as her partner, the boys felt defeated and paired up with their friends or classmate.
'Good luck with Nendou, Saiki,' Yuki said,
'Same to you,' Saiki said as he seemed unbothered by the fact that Nendou is his partner rather than Teruhashi,
After everyone had paired up with each other, the lesson was that one person will pose while his/her partner will draw him/her on the pad. When finished, the two must switch roles and vice versa. What's more, is that both drawings must be presented to the entire class.
In order to achieve a perfect score, the teacher will join the students and write down the score depending on the drawing they present to the class.
If the pad is empty, hardly represents their partner, or is a complete mess. Then that person will receive none for his effort, making it hard for a pair to reach a perfect score.
But the teacher assured that one person passing this activity is the average score. Additional Details are credited depending
As soon as they all started, the first one to draw was surprisingly Teruhashi while Yuki is doing all the poses. As she drew, Terushashi's thoughts lie on a certain matter, '~Why would she willingly pose rather than draw? Could it be that she plans to show off her beauty for all to see!?~'
Though Teruhashi shook her head a couple of times in denial of her assumptions before focusing on the pad, '~No, No, No, No. There's no way she would resort to such things. Even I wouldn't mind volunteering for such a task. Though I worry that they'll ruin my perfect image should they try~'
'Wow, who knew that she can be a bit of a narcissist,' Yuki remarked, and remained still for as long as she can,
'You are half-correct,' Saiki said,
Minutes later, The roles switch with Teruhashi now posing for Yuki. But compared to the time to make the drawing, the latter was a bit faster and often uses her pencil to measure Teruhashi on certain proportions.
As soon as everyone was finished with their drawing, the teacher then told everyone to arrange the seats properly and pairs were presenting their drawings to the entire class.
With Saiki's telepathy, he can hear the embarrassed thoughts of his classmates as if they were forced to show their work to all of them. But when it was Saiki and Nendou's turn, Nendou's drawing wasn't all good but it seemed passable since he was able to at least draw Saiki.
As for the Esper, he drew the same as Nendou and everyone seemed unsurprised by this. But regardless of what they did in the end, the Teacher graded them with an average score.
The same can be said for Kaidou, and his partner Class Rep, Hairo Kineshi.
And the last pair to show their work was Yuki and Teruhashi.
They went up to the front of the class with their pads on hand, and everyone was expecting something great for the two. Though, Teruhashi was showing signs of hesitation from Yuki's point of view.
Then she spoke, "How about I show them my work first before yours?"
"Eh?" Teruhashi reacted, "Uh..."
"Embarrassment is often a sign of maturity, Teruhashi," Yuki said, then shows her work for the class, "You just got to pass through it,"
Upon seeing the drawing she had made, everyone excluding Saiki gasped in amazement as the sketch shows Teruhashi with her hands clasped together and her eyes closed. What immersed them in all of the sketches was the details she placed on the pad.
For it represents Teruhashi praying as if she was an angel born from heaven...
When Teruhashi herself glanced at Yuki's pad and she was more amazed than the rest of the class. Though a bit of worry from her had somehow fainted away due to the influence of drawing.
If she were an actual goddess, she would have deemed this drawing a holy relic.
"Outstanding, Ms. Hamada," The Teacher said, "For that, you receive a perfect score for your effort. But, we have yet to see Ms. Teruhashi's work,"
Upon this comment, Teruhashi snaps out of her entranced expression and looks down at her pad. She still remains uncertain about whether or not she could show her work to the class.
But she wasn't going to let Yuki take all the attention as she mustered what courage she had in her, and showed her drawing to everyone.
Once again, it amazes everyone as Teruhashi drew a sketch of Yuki sitting on a few steps of stairs with her sketchbook and pen, in between her were flowers in plant boxes, and behind her was the back entrance of the PK Academy.
Yuki was impressed by Teruhashi's work and smiles at her effort.
Though the two then turned to the Teacher when he clapped his hands to them, "That was Marvelous work, you two. For that matter, both of you will receive a perfect score for this activity. Let's give hand to them,"
Everyone in the classroom then seemingly cheered for their work, and even Saiki clapped his hands as he didn't want to be the odd one out of the bunch.
"Great work, Teruhashi," Yuki praised,
"Y-You too, Yuki-san," Teruhashi followed,
"Please, just call me Yuki," Yuki corrected,
Art Class Outcome: It's a Draw
The following subjects for today were all but normal, but Teruhashi kept an eye on Yuki throughout the entire day until class dismissal.
Yuki would put away her shoes into the locker, and walks home with Misaki by her side.
'~ Yuki... For today's classes, I've learned much from you. Therefore, I've decided that you are my rival and I will show you who's the most perfect girl of all!~' Teruhashi said with a determined mindset,
After Yuki and Misaki parted ways, Saiki soon appears by her side.
"I see you're still having problems with Misaki. Huh?" Yuki questioned,
'She's a nuisance. But I'll get over it,' Saiki said, 'Which reminds me, There is something that you should know,'
Saiki then went on to explain what he had overheard before he left the school building.
"So, Teruhashi had declared me as her rival?" Yuki said,
'You did kinda hog all the attention from her, and I've been hearing rumors about you outshining her from the guys,' Saiki added, 'All in all, you'd make the perfect distraction for Teruhashi to leave me alone,'
"Wow, hearing you label me as 'perfect distraction'? Really hurts, you know," Yuki remarked,
'You show off, therefore you know that it's true. Especially when you partnered up with Teruhashi in Art Class,' Saiki stated,
"Actually, my original intention is to keep the boys from partnering up with her since she's a magnet for trouble," Yuki said, "I didn't do it to keep her from partnering up with you,"
'Then why did you say good luck when I partnered up with Nendou?' Saiki questioned,
"Because you're his magnet, and I assumed that you will have a hard time considering that this is Nendou we're talking about," Yuki explained,
Thus, Saiki miscalculated his assumptions about her. At first, he assumed that Yuki partnered with Teruhashi just so she could keep her away from him.
When that wasn't the case, his curiosity towards her had grown especially when someone like her is willing to help someone like Teruhashi.
After they've reached their respective residences, Yuki waves goodbye and heads to the door while Saiki returns to his home...
That is it for this chapter, and if you all ask. This chapter is something that I made up before I proceed in making the chapter where Chiyo tries to make several advances toward Saiki.
In addition, The Rivalry between Yuki and Teruhashi will continue not just in school. But outside school boundaries whenever it feels necessary.
And lastly, I'm actually open to ideas should anyone want to add a character of their own in the story. Rest assured, the credit will go to the people who proposed the idea. Because claiming something that isn't mine is not what I would do as a writer. The same can be said for future chapters.
That is all I have to say, let me know if I've made mistakes in this chapter and I will correct them, stay safe from the virus, and I will see you all in the next chapter!
