Jade got home after spending her weekend at the Vegas. Her parents had noticed the drastic change in their daughters behavior.

She had become more happier, smiled a lot, did her tasks without complaining and even started to bake cookies but she never shared it with them. She had put them in a sealed container and the rushed to get ready for school.

All they knew from Cat was that it had something to do with a girl named Tori Vega.

Jade's mother Amanda walked up to her daughters room and just stared at her while she was organizing the books she needed. Laptop turned on and it was a picture of her friends.

Amanda noticed two new people in the picture. She knew all her daughters friends but the two girls was new to her.

"Hey sweetie, how was the weekend?" She said as Jade turned around and was smiling at her.

"Hey mom. It was great, hanging with the gang at the Vegas. We went to the park and did usual teenage stuff" the goth said as she had everything organized.

Amanda smiled at her. She was happy that her daughter did have a great weekend.

"So is this Vega one of the new girls you have been hanging out with?" She asked her and she noticed the blush on her daughters face.

"Yeah, they are sisters actually. Trina is the older one by a year and Tori who is my age. They are great and both very talented singers. All though Trina likes to act more then Tori does" Jade said as she was smiling at her mom.

"That's amazing. I hope you can introduce us to them" she said and Jade looked at her with a questioning face.

"Their mom is a lawyer and their father is a Detective at LAPD. Holly and David Vega. Also Tori has a daughter named Aurora" Amanda noticed how protective her daughter became of them.

"You know I just want the best for you. I know we haven't been here for so long but I just want you to know that we are here for you" she told her daughter.

Jade nodded and turned to do her homework.

Amanda looked at her and then left her room.

Walking down to husband's office Mark West noticed her wife's expression. He got worried and met her half way.

"My love what's the matter?" he said concerned.

They held each other and sat down on the couch.

"I feel that we missed a lot of Jade's upbringing. She is almost an adult. We been neglecting her since she was 10 and now" she sighed.

Mark felt guilty for being absent from his daughter. He and his wife had been too focused on earning money then their own daughter.

"I think that it's time to set her needs first then on our work. I'm planning to base our company here in LA where she needs us the most" he finally said.

Amanda smiled at him. She wanted them to base the office in LA but it never happened until now.

"Our daughter is dating one of her two new friends. You should have seen her when she spoke about them. With passion and fire in her heart" she said with a smile.

"Our girl is indeed in love" he said and smiled.

Monday came and Jade thought it was weird to see her mom up early in the morning making breakfast. Usually her mom would be on her way to New York where her clients was.

"Morning sweetie sit down and eat breakfast before school" her mother said but Jade was already in a hurry.

"Sorry mom I didin't know you where still here but I'm not eating brakefast. I'm gonna pick up some coffee from Jet Brew and meet up with the gang" she said as she walked out of the door.

Amanda stod there sigh and watch as her daughter walked drove away.

Mark stod by the kitchen door and saw how his wife felt bad and he felt guilty about that they didin't even their own daughters rutins.

He put his arms around his wife's waist and kissed her.

"It be alright honey. We will have a talk with her and get to know her once again" he said.

The two had a lovely breakfast that morning and was planning on how to get their little Jade back.

Jade was in class when she was called to Lanes office. She didin' know why she was called to him cause she didin't do anything.

As she entered she was confused to see her parents sitting on the couch.

"Jade come sit down and join us" Lande said. She sat on the stool that was far from everyone.

"Why are you her? Did something happened?" She was worried that something bad was happening but the adults shook their heads.

"no Jade. Your parents just wants to talk to you, they just didin't know where to start so they cams to me for help" he said.

"Okey.. so..?" still skeptisk.

"Jade.. we are sorry for not being there for you when you needed us the most but we want to change that" her mother started.

"we are sorry for letting you raise yourself. For missing big parts of your life while growing up. You where 10 years not so long ago and now your 17 turning 18 and we are missing things. We don't even know who you hang out with anymore or who your girlfriend is" her father said as she was irritated.

"STOP" she raised her voice.

They sat there staring at her.

"I can't do this right now. I'm having a good day and my mood is about to get ruined. If you want to know me ask me don't go to someone else for help. Im your daughter not a pet you can ask other people to help you on how to deal with me" she said as she walked out.

Jade was angry. She left the school and drove around for a few hours. She had missed calls and text from Lane and her parents but she never responded.

She sat on the hood of her car and was looking over the overview of the city. She got a text from Tori.

My Vega: Lane told me what happened come home and talk to me when you feel like it. I love you ️

Jade smiled at how loving her girlfriend is to her. She knew Tori wouldn't force her to talk unless she is ready. She felt so lucky to have found a girl like her.

"God how lucky am I to have a girl like Tori" she said to No one. As she sat there she noticed a black car approaching her spot. The windows was tainted and she didn't recognize it. She was on alert and picked up her sisccors that was hiding g in her boots. The door opened and she was confused why Tori's dad was there.

"Mr. Vega" she said and David just smiled at her.

"Hey Jade, you okey kiddo? Tori called me. She was worried about you since you didin't text her back" he said and she couldn't help but smile at how far she would go to make sure she was safe.

"I'm.. I don't know.. okey I guess" she said as she was leaning against her car.

David nodded and smiled.

"get in your car and follow me. Let's go sit somewhere and talk" he said and the goth did what was asked of her.

David park the car outside the Becky's Diner. Jade parked beside him and followed the detective inside.

"David mi niño it's been a long time, where is your chicas?" a older man said as they walked in.

"Senior Vasquez I'm doing very well. My the girls are home. Just gonna take some coffee and have a talk with my daughter" he said with pride and this got Jade to feel overwhelmed.

Hearing Tori's father call her daughter was something she had never thought about. She felt happy that David saw her as a daughter.

The older man looked at Jade and smiled. Jade did the same.

"I will get you the usual" the man said as he walked back in the kitchen.

David and Jade was sitting in last window booth. Jade's thoughts was flying around her head.

"You know.. Tori and Trina had a older sister named Aurora. She was 10 years old" he started and she looked at him with a surprise face.

"She passed away when they where 5 and 6 years old. She had leukemia. She had her good days and bad days and the three of them was so close. Trina was always overprotective when it came to Tori since that was Aurora's last wish. That it was her time to make sure that their little sunshine was protected and loved" he said looking outside the window. Tears trailing down his face.

This was the first time Jade ever see a grown man crying silently.

"She have always and will protect her even if it ment that she could get hurt. Tori was pushed by a bully once and Trina flipped on that boy. She knocked him out in front of the entire school. Since then no one had ever tried to be mean to Tori" he said smiling at the memory.

Jade sat there grinning at the picture in her head.

"Tori was always a happy girl until that day she got hurt. I won't tell you what happend cause that is something she will tell you when she is ready but know this" he said looking into the younger girls eyes.

"My daughter haven't been this happy since we moved here and she met you. She was closed off for years until you and the others came into her life. But you Jade West makes her happy and be that sunshine she was once. So thank you, thank you for bringing the light back into my family's life. For being her girlfriend and accepting her daughter" he said with a smile.

Before she could answer the old man came and gave them their food and drinks.

"I didn't know.. I'm sorry about your loss and for what you've all been through" she stated.

She took a bit of her fries before she started again.

"I love her so much. I love them both very much. Sometimes I wonder why she chose to be with me" she said.

"You challenge her. Having Trina as her older sister helps a bit but don't let her sunshine persona trick you. When she gets mad you don't want to be close to that. You may be a bitch at times but Tori is a devil when gets mad" he said with a laugh and she just stared at him with shock making the detective laugh even more.

They both sat there and she told her story about parents and how they abandoned her when she was 10. They only gave her enough money for the time she would be alone all though she never used a lot of it. She had saved them in a box.

She told him about how she felt and rhat now that she is finally happy with her life and choices they think that they can come back and be a part of her life.

They had chosen to take care of their company and their son who had hurt her since she was 8 and she didin't need or wanted them back.

"what did he do to you Jade?" he asked and she swallowed her fries and took a deep breath.

"He sexually abused me" she said with a low voice and averted her eyes to her food. She could hear the havey breathing the detective was trying to control.

"they found out after I stabbed him with my sisccors when he tried to do it again when I was about 9 and they had to call the cops. I told the officer what had happend and it was settled that he would be moved from LA and they took him to New York. I haven't seen him since then. My mom stayed with me until I was 10 and then she started to work more and more in New York leaving me alone. My dad was just here once a month in a weekend" she said.

David nodded his head and finally understood why she flipped on her parents.

"You are loved Jade. Holly and I care about you. You are a part of my family and we will always be there for you" he said and she couldn't help but cry.

The detective held her into a hug and let her cry out until there was no more tears.

After an hour they both drove back home where the Vega girls was waiting from them to come home.
